Love It, Converted to Induction
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We ordered this single-element unit so that we could try an induction cooktop without committing to spending a ton of money on a high-end built in unit that we may not like. Conclusion: we're completely sold. This little induction unit does a great job, with plenty of power and enough precision to rival (or beat) gas. It feels solid, but it's not too heavy. It's fairly intuitive to use, and there's a manual to get you introduced. The box even came with a magnet for you to use to check if your pans will work with induction. Almost every pan we have works perfectly, including our cast iron, carbon steel, and stainless steel sets. It makes quite a bit of noise, which we expected. A lot of it is the induction element, but the cooling fans are quite loud as well. It's the price you pay for an inexpensive, powerful countertop unit I suppose. It would be nice if the element was square and used up the entire surface, but such a unit wouldn't be as good of a price.

more power , and got on deal of day
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.with my $10 reward , i got this for $25 ,, i now have 3,, but this one is more powerful to heat ,,, and has a temperature setting where my other 2 insigna only do power level setting .. i travel with these to use in hotel to perk morning coffee and cook soup, or whatever in a pot .. lot easier than other methods .. i like these with timer to shut off ,, after a while of use ,you learn what value to set and just let it go and not worry about burning or over cooking .. my 2 original purchase a few years ago was primarily for summer cooking that it does not heat up the kitchen , ,and now with 3 of these i can cook more item at same time ... these single units are also better than a dual cooker unit ,, where i seen reviews of them that you can't set both dual cooker to max at the same time ... but with separate one you can ,, your limit then becomes the circuit breakers of your house wiring .. very happy with all three of my insigna brand units , especially summer cooking and outside deck ,,, and traveling ..

Excellent Induction
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Saw a discount on the "Deal of the Day" and I placed the order online on Feb 16, 2022. Received the order on Feb 17, 2022. I love the sleek design with a built in fan as you could see the ventilation on the side. I use it to cook a six quarts soup with no issue, heating up was quick and the heat was well balanced. Please make sure that your cookware are induction, otherwise it will not work.

A must have!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this induction cooktop in order to replace my air fryer for cooking on the-go; I am not disappointed one bit. I feel like a have a gas stove when I cook with this. Everyone should have one of these, especially during potential emergencies, as it runs on electricity. It heats up my pan within seconds, and it ’s small and portable. It fits easily on a folding diner table and can be taken anywhere. Anyone thinking about it, should just purchase it; I would recommend it!!!

Q: QuestionWhat is the size of the heating element itself? Will I be able to use a 10-inch fry pan with even heat distribution, how about 12 inches?
Asked by Cerulean.
- A:Answer I tested one with a 2 gallon soup pot and with a 12 inch frying pan. The first time the unit worked, it worked perfectly. The second time I went to use the unit, it gave an error code with a flashing U that is underlined. NO ONE at Best Buy or Insignia knew what that code meant, and because it happened AFTER the 15 day return period, they wont do anything about it. They cant fix it. I would suggest any other brand. This one doesnt work and there is zero support for it.

Q: QuestionCan we use any pots on this cooktop or only insignia brand works on it
Asked by Maysoon.
- A:Answer The brand doesn't matter, being induction compatible does. Cookware will have an icon on bottom that looks like a coiled spring to show it's compatible. You can test with a magnet, of it attaches to pan or pot it will work. Cast iron cookware will work with our too.

Q: QuestionWhat are the electrical requirements and is it a plug in or does it need to be hard wired?
Asked by paddy.
- A:Answer Standard 2-prong (ungrounded) US plug. 1800W means it will max out a 15A circuit at full draw. Mine has tripped the breaker once or twice before, if anything else is being used on the circuit at the same time I'm at full power. 1200W is the most you can pull on a 10A circuit.

Q: Questionwhat is the maximum weight
Asked by John.
- A:Answer I have done over a dozen 5-gallon all-grain batches of beer in a 6-gallon stainless pot on this, so at least 45lbs and it hasn't broken, yet.

Q: QuestionWhat is meant by “single zone”?
Asked by Nell2.
- A:Answer A zone means a cook spot. You can only cook with one pan on it at a time. However, as both of the units I bought worked a SINGLE time, and then failed after the 15 day return date, I would highly suggest this product would not be a good choice for you.

Q: QuestionDoes this product work with 316 stainless steel cookware?
Asked by Terblah.
- A:Answer If a magnet sticks to it, it will work

Q: QuestionIf I want to use this outdoors..What type of extension cord should I use ? Thanks
Asked by Jinny.
- A:Answer You should use a cord capable of 20 amps as this uses 15 amps. You don’t want to have the cord heat up if you are cooking on the highest temperature or power levels. If you plan to use lower levels a 15 amp cord would be fine.
