Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the long cord, affordable price, and functionality of the Wired Controller for NES Classic Edition. They appreciate having an extra controller for multiplayer gaming and enjoy the nostalgic feel of the corded controller. However, some customers have concerns about the responsiveness of the buttons, occasional lag during high-speed games, and the white color of the controller instead of the original gray.

Not what I was hoping for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to like this controller. At first it looked just like the original and got great reviews here.Comparing it to the original and playing it is another story. The d pad is way too high and the buttons have how to explain it take longer to press compared to the quick presses on the original. These 2 problems make you miss a lot of jumps when doing speed runs in Mario. Not only that the A button doesn't always fully work and a character might only jump half way. The controller is slightly lighter but feels great in your hand and has really good cord length. It works perfect on Wii U VC games but when going into the regular Wii VC games it only works on some games. For the price go for it but it doesn't match the Nintendo controller if you were thinking that.

Like the other controller and has longer cable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's like the regular controller, only it has a longer cable. Also, it's white and the label was slightly offset on mine, unlike the NES Classic original controllers I've seen, all of which were perfect. That's not enough to make me rate this fewer than five stars. It still saves me the price of an additional extension cable so I appreciate that. Also, the hand feel is completely analogous to the stock controller.

Not as good as the original, but works!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just like the NES classic was vaporized from any and all retailer selling it at MSRP, so did the additional controllers made by Nintendo. And while I was extremely lucky to 'source' 2 NES Classics (one for me, other for my best friend and his kid, my godson) at retail price, I wasn't so lucky on getting a second Nintendo controller for them so I went for this one, inexpensive and get the job done. My only complaint is that the build quality is not on par with Nintendo's and the buttons felt clickier compared to the original one. Other than that, it works, and at the end of the day it's all I care about as I traveled 6000 miles to have this gift delivered to them!

Nice controllers, but with one issue.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are pretty nicely made and are really close replicas of the Nintendo controller with two notable differences. Fist the good: The cable is nice and long. None of that short cable nonsense that Nintendo pulled. Second is a minor complaint that the D-Pad's pivot point is flat and not tall enough. This makes it so you can literally press it straight down and activate all 4 directions (U,D,L,R) simultaneously. This makes it less than accurate in the heat of action. This can be fixed by modifying that center pivot as I have done this on both of mine. Essentially you need cut off and replace the flat nub with a ball (or 1/2 a ball technically). I use air-soft pellets with a flat ground on one side to accomplish this. Compare to a genuine Nintendo D-Pad to get the height correct then glue it in place epoxy. After that it's pretty spot on.

Decent third party controller
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The one thing this controller gets right is the cable length. In a day with every system having wireless controllers, a wire sets us back in the days of RF adapters and blowing on cartridges. However, the tiny cable on the original NESC controller sets us back in the stone age. The buttons aren't quite as responsive as the original, but they get the job done. Considering the scarcity of a genuine Nintendo controller, even when in production, this controller is a no-brainer.

Much Needed Length
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The original remote is way to short. Now-a-days, people have much bigger tv's from when the original was released. This remote is a great substitution. The length of cord gives you the much needed distance for tv's that are 50" and above. Plus, the price doesn't hurt your wallet either. I would highly recommend this to those that have a tv bigger than a computer monitor.

Cheap, long cord...gets the job done
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I debated buying a Nintendo-branded controller and an Insignia extension cord, but decided against it given: (1) Nintendo-branded controllers were out of stock and (2) the two items together would have been pricey for what they were. The Insignia controller is a little uglier than the Nintendo ones, and the buttons have a mushy feel to them - but for the price, they can't be beat. Plus, it has a 10' cord...so that sort of sealed the deal.

Works almost as well as the official one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its a controller for a NES classic. It looks reasonably like the one that comes with the unit, but with black buttons. The cord is longer than the stupidly short one Nintendo decided was a good idea. I'm convinced that this is just a hair less responsive than the official controller, even with the extension. Not a huge difference, just a tiny bit.

Q: QuestionHow close is this to the original controllers that come with the unit in terms of feel/response? 3rd Party Controllers are often hit or miss, and often because it feels so different. Thank you!
Asked by Nick.
- A:Answer It's spot on. Out of all the aftermarket ones, this feels closest to the OE. It's not ugly either!
