Save The Trouble, Buy A New Battery

5 Stars for the product being what it is, 1 star for the piece of junk battery that comes with it. Get home and try it out on my D3400: no dice. I think "well this is stupid" and try to troubleshoot the camera. Nothing wrong there. Do some sleuthing online and come to find that people complain about the battery in both the Insignia remote and the Nikon remote. Some people say to get a new battery (CR2025) because the "new" battery is DOA, some say to wedge paper in between the positive terminal side and the bottom of the remote due to the loose-fitting holder not making full contact. No thanks, I went BACK to the store and got a CR2032 battery (same voltage as the CR2025, just slightly thicker) and popped it in the remote ... now it finally works. Would I recommend to a friend? I'd recommend them to go ahead and buy a new battery while they were already at the store to avoid having to go back out. Alternatively, I'd recommend to Insignia to not include the battery at all and sell for under $15 so I can still get a functional remote for under $20 with a good battery.

I needed a wireless remote so that I could tripod mount my D3200 and take closeup hummingbird pictures without spooking them. I found that Best Buy had the Nikon ML-L3 Wireless Remote at my closest store location and confirmed. When I arrived, there were none in stock. The rep suggested the Insignia remote which turned out to have a useful range listed as almost twice the Nikon. I decided it was cheap enough to try, so I bought it and used it immediately for the birds. Fantastic. My only issue is that it doesn't provide for activating remote video. No big deal, but it would be great. I also used it to eliminate camera shake the next night shooting the Perseid meteor shower. Again, great. I like it so much that I have attached it by lanyard directly to the camera strap so that I always have it available. I would say that this remote may not be essential, but when the need arises, for under $20, its a fabulous tool to have already added to your kit.

I keep it around my neck when actively taking pictures. (Just in case) We had a party for my father in law and needed to take candid shots. The whole family knew so the fact I was part of the family pictures made it more of a happy birthday for my father in law! On my the second occasion, my hubby belongs to a flashlight forum and needed comparative shots of the light beams at night. This needed a tripod and wireless remote. The fact he posted my shots and said I helped him meant the pics came out clean and useful. Yes! Finally night time shots without motion blur!

This remote is great. I'm a photography novice and bought this remote to set-up a photo booth at a holiday party to allow people to take their own pictures. Single button, don't even need to point directly at the camera, just at an angle. So it won't make you have to pose while pointing at the camera. The only issue to keep in mind is that your camera may require a built menu option selected in order to use the remote. I have a Nikon D5000, and I had to switch the shutter option to remote mode first.

I bought this remote last minute because I ended up traveling to Canada for business and wanted to capture photos of the borealis. I looked all over Amazon but it was hard to find specifics. I walked into BestBuy and was immediately helped and shown this device. It worked exactly as described and, for something right at the $20 price point, you can't do any better. Good range and angles means you can get pictures from pretty far out or even close up. No issues whatsoever.

Short and sweet, I'm usually behind the camera taking pictures cause that's what I enjoy but ever since I found and purchased the Insignia- wireless remote and shutter control I can be in the pictures and don't assume that since your using the remote your getting less quality pictures . I'm getting the same quality because this remote is also a shutter control so you do not lose quality or a member of the family cause they're the one taking the pictures now we're all in it! !!!

Bought this to use with a Nikon DSLR. Worked fine for about 2 weeks and then started sending two rapid shutter release signals when the button was pressed. The second time it happened, the shutter on my camera jammed. I have had to send the camera back to Nikon to see if it's fixable. It was a new camera. By saving a few bucks on this rubbish remote, I probably will end up needing a new camera. I know...my own d##n fault.

I couldn't easily identify if the Nixon D3300 was compatible with this device, but I had found a forum with some saying that it was. Anyway, I purchased it and it did not work for me. Like others have mentioned, maybe I just need to change the battery (which, I'll admit I haven't done yet). This product may work perfectly for all i know, but if you are going to buy make 100% sure this product is compatible with your camera.
