I have been eyeing this for awhile
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ever since a co-worker brought this to an office potluck, I have been fascinated. It wasn’t until Black Friday and with my Best Buy reward money, it fell within my price point. Best purchase ever! I have 3 crockpots(and I love my crockpots!) but this is sitting on my counter in constant use. My food is quick, tender and tasty. I have started to cook again during the week. I call that winning!

Instant Pot 6 Qt Pressure Cooker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Instant Pot is such a time saver. I can brown or saute meats and vetables in the same pot that I use to pressure cook my meal. The pressure holds all the vitamins and mimerals inside the food and creates very healthy and tasty food in a short period of time. I love it!

Timing makes food perfect
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like Indian food and it's instant pot feature makes it a good fit to cook Indian food. I am happy with it's cooking results. Just learn how to set your time for cooking. It may take less time to cook after pressure is built for many indian food dishes.

Best-supported brand, nice features on this model
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are many brands of electric pressure cookers on the market. The biggest pros to this model: 1. Instant Pot is arguably the best-supported brand out there, for warranty claims, replacement parts, and various Internet communities where owners and enthusiasts and bloggers share information and recipes and product knowledge with each other. 2. The Duo V2 offers manual control on both high pressure and low pressure, as well as a yogurt cycle. Most cooking is done on high pressure, but low pressure definitely has value for cooking more delicate foods, steaming fish, steaming vegetables, etc. The yogurt cycle on this model works very well. 3. Stainless steel inner pot is the ONLY one to get, in my opinion. It's definitely the most durable and long-lasting. The nonstick coatings, either PTFE or ceramic, are more delicate, food still sticks to them, and they peel, chip, or get gouges in them eventually. Stainless is dishwasher-safe. Easy to clean. 4. Replacement parts are readily available. Instant Pot has an online store where you can order gaskets, inner pot (stainless or nonstick), lids, bases, and more, including accessories. It’s unclear to me why Best Buy and other retailers don't stock the gaskets in their stores. 5. Warranty replacements: I haven't had to make a warranty claim, but many people report that Instant Pot customer service is efficient, prompt, and easy to work with. 6. Size: 6 qt is the standard size that most recipes are written for. There are many Internet sites and Facebook groups for Instant Pot, and the Duo60 is a well-known model that hoards of people own. 7. Cheesecakes: People make some awesome cheesecakes in these. Cons: Few. 1. Be aware that the gasket in the lid will pick up food odors, and it's generally going to smell like the last food you cooked. Most people who cook a wide variety of different foods in their IP buy spare gaskets. They keep one for spicy, one for sweets, and one either for blander things like rice or potatoes, or to have a brand new spare on hand. 2. Pressure cooking is different from other types of cooking. If you have no experience, do some research, and perhaps start with inexpensive things like making potato salad, boiled eggs, or mac and cheese, and small inexpensive roasts. 3. Not everything is meant to be pressure cooked. This appliance is not the best tool for every job or food. Slow cooker function works better for soups and broths than it does for meats and other solid foods. This device heats from the bottom up, and will cook unevenly unless stirred. 4. NO recipe book or user guide that comes with any of these pressure cookers is going to tell you everything that you need to know, or provide a million and one recipes. Find the Facebook groups for Instant Pot and you will find a plethora of information and help there.

PERFECT!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this Instant Pot, It does everything, and well. I love that you can do whole wheat pasta, using the sauté Mode for the veggies, then adding everything else to this same pot and after it's done no heavy pot of boiling water to drain! Makes perfects grains. Easy to use (Make sure and read specifics, like doing the pot inside pot method for sauces or reheating thick soup.) There are great videos to make it easy to use right out of the box :) I've bought two others to give as gifts :)

Q: QuestionCan it be used for canning?
Asked by daniel.
- A:Answer Great question, Daniel. The Duo isn't able to can, because pressure canning requires a minimum 15psi, whereas the Duo is rated up to 12 psi. This means that it does not reach pressures for safe canning. We currently have one Instant Pot that is capable of pressure canning called the Max. For more information regarding this model, please visit our website or contact our support team.

Q: QuestionWhere is the "Manual" button on the 6 QT model?
Asked by SARAH.
- A:Answer Great question, Sarah! On the newer versions of the Duo 60, the 'Manual' button has been re-labelled 'Pressure Cook'. Other than the label, it's the exact same, so any recipe you find that mentions the 'Manual' button can be recreated perfectly by using 'Pressure Cook'. We hope this helps!

Q: QuestionAfter a couple years of use, the inner pot has a film of food or spices I can't clean off. I've tried as much as an SOS pad (not too tough on it) but, after drying, the film is still there. Any suggestions for cleaning?
Asked by Dave.
- A:Answer Hi there Dave. To remove stains from the inner pot, please use a non-abrasive cloth or scrubber dampened with baking soda and vinegar. Please rinse and dry your inner pot, especially the bottom. This will prevent any residue left from the soap transferring to your heating element. Residue can also be from hard water stains. We hope this helps!
