i3 is usually looked at as being the bottom of the Intel CPU stack and that primarily does not change here. The 10th generation i3 has only 4 cores that are hyper-threaded to give you 8 threads. Essentially you have a very up-to-date i7 2600K, which came out in 2013, I believe. If you know anything about the history of computers that was the CPU that got us to where we are today. (Thanks Intel). Today, this would not be considered top of the line or anywhere near it, but it is still a great performer for a mid-tier 1080p gaming system. Pair this with an NVIDIA GTX 10 series GPU such as the 1070 or above or AMD Radeon 570 or above and you will not be disappointed with your purchase at all. This is great for entry level gaming PCs, but NOT for streaming, I suggest you move up the product stack to accomplish that kind of task.

I bought this CPU for a home NAS and it has performed well beyond expected. It has handled being a Plex streaming server admirably and I honestly I expect it to last for many years to come.

Great price for a 4 core CPU with good single threaded performance.
