Solid performance
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Clear markings on the chip make it easy to install. I used it with a Z590 motherboard with gen 4 capabilites. Not quite as fast as a rysen 5800X but it's close. Never had any problems with intel.

Fast 8 core CPU
||Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed. The CPU scores 92nd Percentile with 25000+ on CPU Mark Performance Test. Very fast and reliable. It was my first time Installing an intel CPU which is a bit more trickier than AMD cpus but it was still easy. Using it with a Hyper212 cooler, this thing stays nice and cool. Pricier than AMD counterpart.

Best unlocked option for the LGA 1200 platform
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Power hungry and less performant than the latest 12th Generation Core processors from Intel. Not worth the cost unless you are stuck on Intel's LGA 1200 platform. That being said, it is a beastly processor and very capable of handling just about any workload, and brings Gen 4 PCIe connectivity for your compatible NVMe SSD's and GPU's. This is the best option if you want an unlocked processor on the LGA 1200 platform. The i9 11th gen is also 8 core/16 threads, and costs a lot more. If you don't have a Z590 or other 500 series motherboard, make sure it supports this CPU. Not all 400 series boards support 11th Gen processors (even some expensive Z series boards - looking at you ASUS!). Check the motherboard manufacturer's CPU compatibility list first.

Q: Questionwhat is the major difference between this one and Intel - Core i9-11900K 11th?
Asked by preorder.
- A:Answer The 11700k and 11900k both have 8 cores. The 11700k has a base frequency of 3.60ghz and the 11900k is 3.50. The turbo frequency for the 11700k is 4.5ghz compared to the 11900k which is 4.8ghz. Both chips are very similar with the 11900k being slightly more powerful but at a higher cost. The 11700k has a better price per performance ratio since it is 150$ cheaper. I am pretty sure the 11900k runs a little hotter so if you plan to get it, make sure you have optimal cooling.

Q: Questionwill this run on a ASUS X99 MOTHERBOARD
Asked by kayakman.
- A:Answer No. This is an 11th Gen Intel processor that requires an LGA 1200 socket, so you should be looking for a 500 series motherboard (e.g. Z590 or B560). There is plenty of information online about the details and numerous choices available.

Q: QuestionCurrently running a 10600k with a 3070, PCI Gen 3.0. Is it worth it to upgrade to the 11700k so I can run PCI Gen 4.0? If yes, what motherboard would be good with this setup?
Asked by Sang.
- A:Answer There is no difference in performance in Gen 3 vs gen 4 on a 3070. Depending on the resolution your playing on you may want to upgrade the cpu just for more fps. If your on 1080p then a newer Ryzen 5000 or intel 12th gen would give you more fps. But if your on 4K then you won’t get any boost worth the price of a new cpu/motherboard. 1440p is kinda in the middle so that’s your call if you wanna upgrade or not.

Q: Questionif i got this with a new board would i need to buy a new version of windows? if not would i just be able to use my drives that have windows etc on it?
Asked by preorder.
- A:Answer you can link your windows to your email and use that instead of the product key, you should do a fresh install of windows and anything else though.
