I love TurboTax!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.You can go to a tax prep specialist if you have complicated taxes to file, but if you do not have anything outrageously complicated, spend the money to buy TurboTax. I have been using TurboTax for close to 10 years now and have not had a single problem with the filing system. Nor have I had any audits due to using it. It is a very easy step by step guide that will help you get the biggest refund possible. This year my wife and I bought a home and it helped through making sure we got the credits we deserved for doing so. Don't waste your money having someone do your taxes for you. Do them yourself using TurboTax!

I don't like that fact the price keeps going up. It shouldn't cost the same amount if it doesn't have the same forms it has had in the past. The fact they changed it, and took a lot of forms away for a different version was not cool. Especially since they didn't inform people until after they bought it. But over all, for the program it is, it is worth it. Makes taxes a lot easier.

Easy to use, imports data from other programs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used TurboTax or the Kiplinger Tax Cut software for years (I usually get whichever one is cheaper at the time). The Turbotax software is always pretty easy to use. This year, I got TurboTax as a gift. It installed, updated itself, and downloaded the state return software for my state without any drama. It also imported last year's data from my return that was prepared with the Kiplinger program. It will be a while before I enter all of this year's data and file my return - but so far it looks to be as reliable as always.

Easy to follow "interview" to complete taxes

One your federal taxes are completed the "interview" takes you through your state taxes. You can switch from the "interview" process to looking at specific IRS forms. It is very easy to "what if" options to plan for next year.

Annoyed that they didn't advertise that they removed the extra schedules from the program this year. Had to upgrade to the next level to file this year.

- A:Answer It supports Sch. B but no longer supports Sch. C or Sch. D. This is new as of tax year 2014. I recommend using TaxAct instead this year. Their CD Version accommodates all schedules for a total price of $28. It can import prior tax year info. from TurboTax from the PDF format. Premier is necessary for Sch. D ($20 more) and Home & Business for Sch. C. ($30 more).

- A:Answer Up to 5 but beware if you need to file a Schedule C, D, E, or F as you can't with this software anymore. H&R Block Deluxe is cheaper, does MORE and also allows 5 efiles.
