Investigative Reports: Nazis' Secret Killing Squads
In this documentary, part of the Investigative Reports series from A&E, series host and producer Bill Kurtis uncovers the little-known horrors of the Nazi's mobile killing units, called the Einsatzgruppen. When speaking of the human destruction of WWII, most think of the Nazi's death camps throughout Germany and Poland. These movable killing sprees might not be as well known as the death camps, but they were just as destructive. Investigative Reports tells how one instance alone, Einsatzgruppen collected any Jewish people or enemies of the Nazi Party, forced them to strip naked, gathered them into groups, and shot them all dead. This one example of horror led to 30,000 deaths over the course of three days. Much of this documentary relies on the accounts of former Nazi war crimes prosecutor Ben Ferencz and documents collected by the war crimes tribunals and other historians. ~ Cecilia Cygnar, Rovi
