Excellent easy upgrade
|Posted .Quick and easy upgrade. Although battery life isn't as long as hoped. Approximately 3 31/2 hrs play time before needing recharge. I say try finagling it w charger port pugged in for all the time charge and no worries of Bluetooth during during your favorite song. Second function can turn your speakers into fully functional phone calls for hands free talking. A+

Quality Sound
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis is a great buy for those with access to a cassette player that have a smart device with Bluetooth. The sound quality that Bluetooth provides is clear and clean(no static) which is 100x better than analog, aux, or radio. The reason I give four stars is since its Bluetooth it runs off a battery. The max life I have received on a single full charge was a little over 4 hours. So if you travel like me long distance and want to control your tunes using Spotify or Pandora I would suggest buying an inverter for your car so you can charge it. It does include a charging cable but cannot be charg while in use because the port is not accessible when it's in a cassette player. Most analog (wired) cassettes such as this run for $20 and the quality is terrible. Spend the extra $5 on this and you'll thank me later.

Turns any older tape deck into a Bluetooth speaker
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI finally got fed up with trying to plug my phone into a wired cassette adapter along with a USB charging cable and trying to juggle everything. When I get in my car, my phone's in my pocket. Digging it out just to hook it up to listen to music and then having trouble when it came time to take a call was a hassle. This fixed everything. I charged it up, paired my phone, and that was it. I get in the car, turn on the ignition, and it detects when my stereo turns on and turns on and connects to my phone automatically. When I turn off the ignition and pull the key, my stereo turns off and the device powers off as well. No more than 5 seconds later, my phone detects the device being missing and pauses my podcasts. The battery lasts 3-4 hours and it turns on and off along with my stereo. It even has a microphone that hangs out of the cassette door without getting in the way and my friends report that the audio is super clear, which was an added bonus. Plus, the button can pause or resume media playback and if held it will trigger Google Voice Search. I was starting to consider buying a new head unit for my car, but thanks to this purchase, I have everything I needed for a lot less hassle.

Works well
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendAs others have pointed out, there is a colorless piece of plastic that covers the cassette head. If you are careful, you can easily pull this off and then clean the head with a touch of rubbing alcohol. This seems to really clean up the sound a bit. I'm using it in a 37-year old car stereo (with 37 year old speakers) so I really can't say how great the audio transfer from my phone is, but it works. I have absolutely no problem connecting to the unit and it works fine. The only thing I would have liked to see is a different placement for the micro USB charging slot. I would like to leave the unit plugged in and charging while I'm driving to a cigarette lighter, but I can't due to the location of the charging port. It's fine if you have a side-loading cassette deck, but if you have a front-loading deck the port is on the side and can't be left plugged in. It's a minor issue, but worth noting. I'm very happy with it and it has solved my problem.

Cool product, if I do say so myself.
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendIt'd be nice if the charging input was on the other side though so I could just leave it plugged in. Bluetooth works well. My phone shifts all over the truck when I'm driving and never seem to lose any bit of connection if it slides between the seats. Battery life is pretty good. But would just prefer to have it charge ready while its in the cassette player. (Tried flipping it but it only seems to read when it's in the cassette player while the charging port is turned around. Cool little gadget. 4.5/5 Good overall functionality and it'll save you a lot of money if you aren't looking to buy a new digital car stereo deck or just can't seem to get rid of the cassette player because a lot of the best jams you own are still on tape (like me) it still gives you a functioning iPod/Phone/Mp3Device, Etc. hook up wirelessly through Bluetooth technologies. Sweet.

If car has a cassette deck it can have bluetooth
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendWorks as it claims. Turns automobile cassette player into bluetooth. Stream your music and the cool part is it has a mic and phone functions will work as a hands free device. I only gave it four starts because it has to be charged...I would think they would of been able to design it so it would draw power from the cassette player. The answer for now is get two so you can use one while the other is charging.

Inexpensive way to get Bluetooth audio in vehicle
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI was skeptical at first but absolutely love this cassette adapter. I pop it in my vehicle's cassette player and it easily connects to my phone and a I can make hands free calls with my car stereo. I also use it to play music and audio books from my tablet. The only issue I had was that my car stero and my wife's van stereo occasionally eject it. Not sure why but it hasn't happened enough to really bother me. I charge it with one of my phone chargers and leave it my car for a week or two before I have to charge it again - typically it gets used 2-3 times per day. Glad I bought this.

It's very useful
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis item is very useful for me. I keep it on the off switch and it stays off until I turn on my car and it automatically connects to my phone after a few seconds. And turns off after you turn off your car. The only down side is it only lasts a couple hours and it cannot charge while you are using it. Other then that a very helpful device.
Q: QuestionCould this cassette bluetooth adapter be used on a dual cassette deck to transfer the music from a laptop (connected through bluetooth) onto a cassette?
Asked by SashaK.
- A:Answer That's an interesting use case, but it should work. Assuming your dual tape deck is like most others, you could put the ION Bluetooth Cassette Adapter in deck A, a blank cassette in deck B, and record your audio from deck A onto deck B as your program streams.

Q: QuestionIs there any wires that is attach that need to run from your phone to the cassette tap
Asked by Sexyj.
- A:Answer From what I've read the only connection is the Micro USB charging port. The microphone is internal and hangs out for making voice calls from your BT equipped phone

Q: QuestionIt sounds great, but when I start playing music from my iPhone 5S, after a few seconds it loses the BT connection. It won't pair again unless I plug it into the USB charger and turn it on.
Asked by ins0mniac.
- A:Answer Sometimes you have to turn the cassette on and then off for connectivity otherwise works great for me!

Q: QuestionPeople tell me while talking on the phone, it sounds like I'm in a tunnel. Is there any way to correct this.
Asked by Protech.
- A:Answer Make sure the microphone is exposed, no obstacles. The mike has to stick out,

Q: QuestionCan you charge the adapter while it is in the car stereo? Or do you have to take it out of the car stereo to charge it?
Asked by JoeSchmo.
- A:Answer In my car, the cassette slides in and then drops down which obstructs the charging port. If cassettes on your system do not drop down then yes, it will be possible to charge while playing. Otherwise, you will have the same issue. For what it's worth, I've had it now for more than two weeks and have not had to recharge yet.

Q: QuestionHow much time does the battery lasts??
Asked by Reginaaaa.
- A:Answer Howdy! Im pretty pleased with my bluetooth tape adapter. The battery life is great! Im not in my car on too many long trips, but I do drive daily. I can charge it for an hour or so and It will last 2-3 weeks! My only complaints are; it produces a humming noise if I turn it up with no music running on it, (not so noticeable when music is playing) and I wish that it sounded a little better. The low end is lacking, and the overall gain level on the tape output to my stereo is lacking. But I really am happy with the tape, I'm Just glad I can use my phone wire free to play music in my car!!!!

Q: QuestionHow long does the re-charge take? Can you charge in the car with a cigarette lighter port or wall outlet only? THANKS!
Asked by Meggs72.
- A:Answer 1 hour to charge. You can charge in your car cigarette lighter port
