I enjoy the historically woven components of this collection. Tastefully done with some director/writer leeway. Further, It is now all about "kung fu" or fighting, but about self-control and humility. Donnie Yen leads a high quality cast portraying as he embodies the character of Ip Man.

This series will take you on a journey through a slightly stylized and fictionalized account of the life of Ip Man, sometimes bordering on ridiculous but always fun. I encourage you to watch the very first film in this series and dare you not to cry and cheer Ip Man on. It's a very powerful and emotional subject that hits many Chinese people hard. I love action films, but would not say I'm a fanatic of them. This one has a good story, so I would almost say it is a must-see. Skip the second to fourth films unless you want to see more and more ridiculous (but fun) stuff. Ip Man versus Mike Tyson is almost too funny.

An amazing series of films about the history of Ip Man. I thoroughly enjoyed these. Each disc includes subtitles in multiple languages including English and voiceover if you don't prefer subtitles. Lots of martial arts action, a little comedy, and a good moral in each one. There is some language and one extremely brief scene of a topless woman in Ip Man 4. A comment is made about the great views in China when Ip Man sees the woman through his window. If you enjoy martial arts movies, you'll find that these are a great addition to your collection.
