Pretty impressed so far

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I’ve only had her for about a month, but Shelby Shark is part of the family! She may be a little noisy, but not too bad. She is scheduled to work 3 days a week and is at my beck and call. I just press her button, or open the app if I don’t feel like getting up. She has a map of my house so we can ask her to do the whole place or just certain areas. She has a small bin where she stores all the dirt and dog hair. I usually empty it after she does her thing, but I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary. This model doesn’t empty itself which to me, is not an issue if she’s working regularly to keep things tidy. I have tile floors and a few small rugs. She does great on those. A couple of times she’s been in the fully carpeted areas and she’s done well with those too. So, so far, I’m really impressed.

Does the job well

Quality4 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I was apprehensive but got it anyway . glad i did ! It links up with Amazon Alexa as well . Very easy to setup the APP. cleans well. I did not preclean the house so there was a lot of cleaning to do. one note if you have area rugs and the ends are not capped, or have ends that are stitched it may pull some of the cord from the carpet. Just be aware of that . other than that it worked perfect.

Q: QuestionI heard that it scratches hardwood floors. Is that the case?
Asked by Nancy.
- A:Answer Yes this machine WILL and has scratched my hand scraped hardwood floors and left marks in my slate tile. Culprit is the front wheel as everything else if soft rubber. Dirt can get embedded in the plastic and WILL leave deep scratches as it has with mine. Currently in discussions with customer service- not sure how they’re going to handle this one. DONT risk it- the trade off in not worth it. Very upset and disappointed.

Q: QuestionHave pets. Is the his model good for pet hair.
Asked by MJLS.
- A:Answer Works really good for us and we have a lab that sheds so bad. I run it maybe twice a week and it always seems to pick up the pet hair.

Q: QuestionPurchasing for an elederly relative, no smartphone. Is there an on off switch? How does it know to go back to the charger?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The vacuum has 3 buttons, 1- Spot 2- Clean (also power) 3- Dock The vacuum works this way, model 675 when you press clean it starts doing _random_ movement around the house cleaning the house, after 60 minutes (there is no way to change this) it will start flashing the dock led and it will try to return to the base/charger. It will do that with the same random movements, it does not appears to memorize anything in your house. Once it get close to the dock (aprox 1ft) it is smart enough to self orientate and auto dock in the right position If you remember those battery car toys that we had in the 90s that once started they move on a random direction and once they hit a wall or an object they go backwards for a small distance, then turn in a random direction and continue in that way until finding another obstacle?? Well that is your vacuum more less, but a little bit smarter..

Q: QuestionI have throw rugs in my home. Will that be a problem with my iRobot?
Asked by irishlass6494.
- A:Answer There won't be a problem, but how Roomba interacts with the rugs depends on their size and weight. If the rugs are small or lightweight, Roomba may move them out of the way and continue cleaning. If they're heavier, or secured to your floor with carpet tape or a rug pad, Roomba will likely vacuum them/drive over them. You can get some indication by seeing how the rugs respond when you push your upright vacuum, but Roomba is lighter-weight with adjustable wheels and will be more nimble.

Q: QuestionI don’t have WiFi in my condo. What iRobot Roomba can I buy, if I don’t have WiFi?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer You don’t need WiFi to use the Roomba. You only need WiFi if you want to connect it to your phone or another device like Alexa. I just walk over to it and hit the clean button on top and it goes.

Q: QuestionHow does this vacuum do with dog hair?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer We have hardwood floors as well as an area rug. Our dog sheds quite a bit. This Roomba picks up the dog hair really well. It keeps us from having to sweep everyday on the hardwood because Roomba does it for us until we use our vacuum cleaner at the end of the week. We love this Roomba.
