This was a little more expensive but worth the price. The box included parts for every conceivable power arrangement.

Adapter works perfectly, just attach one end to usb-c port and the other end to external SSD. The external SSD was recognized immediately by my laptop running Windows 10. It's just what I needed to salvage SSD on desktop computer that had crashed.

Works well to connect to drives and transfer data, but gets hotter and data transfer rate just drops.
