Jabra - Elite Active 75t True Wireless Active Noise Cancelling In-Ear Headphones - Navy

Wireless in-ear headphones have been a bit of an obsession for me. From $80 to $350 headphones, if there's a brand that's had a halfway decent rating, I've probably tried them out (and unfortunately returned most of them). Here's my quick overview of Jabra's Elite Active 75t True Wireless In-Ear Headphones (details below): - The fit, including comfort 5/5* - The case 5/5 - Sound quality 4.5/5 - Connectivity: 3.5/5 - Jabra app: 2/5 The Fit: For me personally, these headphones are quite possibly the most comfortable in-ear headphones I've tried, and they definitely have the most secure fit. They are lightweight and slim, and I can shake my head vigorously side to side while wearing these and they don't move at all (which is exactly what I do when people inevitably ask me if they are prone to falling out). If you're looking for in-ear headphones to use while doing active things, I would 100% recommend you give these a try. That said, my wife who has much smaller ears than me tried them on and found they didn't fit her ear shape well and actually did fall out. So, if these do fit you (as in my case) then they are wonderful, but I would definitely test them out before your return period runs out, just in case. I've worn these for about 2 hours at my longest stretch, and found them to be much more comfortable than other in-ear headphones for the long duration. I normally start to really notice in-ear headphones irritate the inside of my ears after about an hour, but these are different and I am really impressed. The Case: It may not seem like a big deal, but for someone like me who carries earbuds in a pocket all day, the case is a make or break feature of in-ear headphones. I've had to return cases in the past simply for being too bulky. Jabra did an awesome job with this case. It is slim and lightweight, and charges via USB-C. (I won't buy products that still use the outdated micro-USB cabling). The case doesn't support Qi wireless charging, but given it's reported 28 hours of battery life, I don't have to plug it in often enough to really miss Qi charging. Sound Quality: I personally like a little more bass when I'm listening to music, and by default these don't quite deliver on that promise. That said, Jabra does have an app where you can change the equalizer settings, but other headphones I've tried have an EQ default I prefer over what Jabra delivers. Definitely not a deal breaker, and I'm overall happy with the sound quality, but there is some room for improvement. Connectivity: I've run into some connectivity issues with headphones intermittently cutting in and out. I initially I thought this was just due to the blue-tooth heavy office environment I was using these in, but I've noticed some intermittent "popping" of the sound even when wearing these during a shopping trip. I'm not sure if it's an issue with the headphones going out of sync with one another, but the playback doesn't actually stop when it happens -- it cuts out like listening to a satellite radio station in a bad service area. I also ran into an issue when I was in my house where the headphone picked up a connection from another paired device (my computer) while I was watching a movie on my phone. It apparently allows you to have 2 devices paired at the same time (which I supposed could be neat), but it kept cutting in and out because the other device was pretty far away saying "2 devices connected"..."device disconnected", all while continuing playback of the movie I was trying to watch so I kept missing dialogue. Despite the above connectivity issues, in general, it delivers quality playback, and even when the above happens, the headphones never actually disconnected from my phone or stopped playback. It's not a deal breaker at this point, but it's definitely something I'll be keeping an eye (or ear) on. Jabra App (Sound+ on iOS): It's nice that Jabra provides an app to further customize EQ, update firmware, use a Find My Jabra feature, and register the product. It's also nice that once you set the EQ, there's really no need to go back to the app unless you're checking for an update because my experience with the app has been pretty terrible. When I first setup the headphone, I tried to register my headphones through the app (for the extended warranty), and the app just hung and didn't acknowledge that I had entered and submitted my information. I let it sit for a couple minutes before exiting and trying again, with the same results. After completely force quitting the app, I was able to get the headphones to register. Not a huge deal in the long term, but not a great introduction to my new product. The firmware update... I selected to update the firmware as soon as I got the app working to ensure I had the best possible experience, something I would always recommend with a new product. It worked eventually but it wasn't clear that anything was actually happening. I would have expected flashing lights on the headset to indicate an update was in progress, but it just seemed like nothing was going on. I eventually just let them sit in the charge case for an hour while I did something else and when I came back it looked to be done. Overall, the comfort and fit of these headphones, combined with nearly-great sound quality make these a product I'm ultimately happy with and would recommend to a friend. The connectivity issues are something I'm concerned about long-term, but since these can be updated through the app, I'm hoping improvements come to the connectivity in the future.

Great buds, ill even go as far as to say amazing buds! Sound quality is superb, all the features are there; including ANC and the rare multipoint connection, where this will connect to two bluetooth devices at the same time. Use that feature all the time with my laptop. Wish I could use the left bud independently, but that won't happen (it's a master right, slave left), still can use the right bud by itself. Of course, being as these are the active version, I love that I can run in a downpour with these things and know I'll still have good music in my ears. Plus Jabra offers a 2 year warranty against water or dust, so even if the worst was to happen, your covered. Controls are great; hard buttons that can be customized to your liking. When I tried the galaxy buds plus, the touch controls would make for accidental inputs. Speaking of the buds plus, the 75t are better than them in every category except with the buds you CAN use just the left. The 2nd and last con is with my personal experience, and is purely based on an individual basis. The fit is perfect, no discomfort even with hours (5+) of constant play, but right out of the box the right bud wouldn't form a secure fit and would eventually, always fall out. I was upset finding the perfect buds otherwise, so I didn't give up. I found a set of comply foam ear tips from Amazon, and it was night and day difference. Even the left bud sat better, and I didn't have a problem with that to start with. Tl;DR Absolutely amazing buds in all categories, only the supplied ear tips were not secure enough. Does not take away from being a 5 star product though, just for me it required one little mod (not much different than replacing the stock strap on a quest 2 with an upgraded version)

Loved the earbuds! The figment and battery life is on point! The case contains at least three additional charges for the buds. Used them to work In the rain with no problems at all. But! There were issues that I couldn’t get along with. When first connects there was an issue with the update! Fell asleep with them trying to update while flashing purple. Drained the case as a result. There was an issue with my pair, the left side would shut off all of a sudden and couldn’t be reactivated. It would have to sit in the case for more than an hour in order to reactivate. The right side was somewhat flawless. But, would have to be tinkered with in order to get it to turn off.

Bottom Line Upfront: The Jabra Elite Active 75t is among the best, if not “the” best wireless headphones out right now – especially for the price. It’s not perfect, but it at least matches or exceeds its main competition in almost every way. ===================================================================================== Detailed Thoughts and Observations: ===================================================================================== With so many choices among the current crop of “True Wireless” headphones on the market – it can be tough for any of them to really stand out. On one end, your essentially stuck with low cost reduced feature set “affordable” headphones that have mediocre sound, poor/reduced battery life, and/or fitment & comfort issues ….. and on the other end you have the “high end” approaching my rent/mortgage payment headphones with technological innovations that most people don’t use on a “regular”/daily basis. It seems like you stuck going down either the “audiophile” route – or the “I use my head set for communication” route – along with a couple of brands focused purely on the “active lifestyles” folks in each category as well. Amazingly the Jabra Elite 75t manages to walk a fine line in between all them and still not break the bank financially. I’ve personally been bouncing around several sets of wireless headphones because I found it really hard to stick with just “one” that basically excelled in the things I valued/wanted most at that moment in time. If I wanted to take/make actual “real” phone calls, I found myself reaching for a set that had multiple microphones with active noise cancelation. Those types of headsets tend to bulky (mine sure was), with mediocre/average battery life – and NOT active/workout friendly (mine was not IP certified to resist water or dust of any kind). If I wanted to go for a long outdoor run or hit the gym for a few hours – I would reach for my “workout” pair – that WAS IP certified – but had horrible call quality and microphone input quality and so-so battery life. And lastly – If I was traveling long distances – I reached for my fancy noise canceling set that blocked out the whole world … and were also big and bulky to boot, along with a high price tag to go along with it. With that in mind, the current MSRP for the Jabra Elite Active 75t is $199.99. At this price point, the Elite Active 75t finds itself priced in a comparative middle ground compared to all the other headsets out there right now – especially when you factor in the features such as 7+ hours on a single charge, a compact magnetic case that adds another 20 hours of battery life, IP57 certification, and USB C interface on the charging case to boot! (no Micro USB cables here!) The headset is only part of the equation here – because without the designated app to control and fine it – your left with just a piece of hardware. Fortunately, the Jabra Sound+ App is easy to use and lets you get the most out of the Elite Active 75t. You can enable the app to locate your headset if you leave them behind, adjust the sound settings, access device settings and even read the user manual all from one place. Interestingly, there are some updates that are supposed to come out in the near future to the Sound+ App like “MySound” that lets you fine tune your own personal hearing profile to whatever you like to listen to. Since I began using the headset, I have had zero issues with the Sound+ App and it has yet to crash out on me. On a related note, the signal/pairing quality has yet to go/cut out on me on my runs (which is more than I can say for my previous sets on many occasions). The headphones rely on the one single large “button” on the back of each ear bud to physically control things, however I admit it may not be the “best” way to do things ... it works well enough to get the job done.. Physically, I found they fit me well with the default installed eat tips. The box includes several other smaller and larger sized tips in the event the default ones happen to not work out for you so at least you have the bases covered there. In regards to “feel”, they do have a somewhat “drain plug” like feel in that once they are fitted correctly – they seal up your ear canal pretty tightly. This can be an issue if your running outside or need to maintain situational awareness with the headphones on – but fortunately, the Elite Active 75t has a special “HearThrough” mode that lets you pipe in outside noises (like conversations with another runner or gym buddy) without having to remove the headphones. Supposedly, there will be a feature released in the near future called “MyControls” that will let you simply use one ear bud of your choice to route call or listen to music – but as of now they are still in a “Master/Slave” configuration regarding how they handle audio and calls. On the bright side, they have the nifty feature where the audio will auto “pause” when the headset detects removal of one of the earbuds. ===================================================================================== In Summary: ===================================================================================== The Jabra Elite Active 75t checks all the boxes – and then some – without costing a fortune. They can handle everything from making phone calls, to hitting the trails for a 7 hour run – and everything in between. While the headphones are comfortable and their sound quality is great – they will not rival the high end “audiophile” headphones for the record... what you do get are arguably more useful features that make the Elite Active 75t standout – like IP57 certification, 28 hour battery life (including the charge provided by the case) and a compact form factor that uses USB C (welcome to the year 2020!). If your looking for a headset that does everything well, I couldn't recommend the Elite Active 75t enough .. it's well worthy of 5 stars. PS – Jabra, please include a USB C charging cable that is longer than approx. 10 inches!!!

Jabra is the first name that comes to mind when you think of Bluetooth headsets. Years ago, they were the first brand to bring out a solid Bluetooth device for hands-free talking. This Jabra Active 75t is a new product announced at CES 2020. I happened to have seen them at pre-launch, and glad Best Buy is carrying these so quickly. The Jabra 75t Active is the newer Jabra series, which includes the Elite 75t. The differences between the Elite 75t and new Active 75t include IP57 waterproof, and what seems like a better-textured surface for active wearers. The 75t series improves on the older 65t by increased battery life, better form fit, and USB C charging. The sound quality of Bluetooth headphones is excellent. To utilize the headphone the best way, download of the Jabra Sound+ Application is necessary. This allows for firmware updates, as well as sound profiles. The headphones support Bluetooth 5.0 and can run 28 hours on a single charge (of the charging case), which equates to roughly 7 hours of playtime per charge. The headphones support a quick charge of 15 minutes (to provide for 60 minutes of music) and the specifications state that the charge would hold for 6 months. Pairing the earbuds was unique, one had to press both buttons on the earbuds (Left and Right) to get the device into pairing mode. The on-earbud controls do require some getting used to as the button press from each ear does control something different. The right earbud controls your play/pause, volume up, and your digital assistant (Google, Siri, Alexa), while the left one controls "Hear Through", volume down, track restart and mute for the microphone (for during a call) In my testing, I have been using these headphones to go to the gym on a regular basis. The headphones do not sweat and hold firms when spending an hour on an elliptical. I used these on the bike trails by the beach in Los Angeles, and one can perfectly hear the ambient noise while wearing these. The mode is called "Hear Through", which is enabled on the app and allows you to adjust how much ambient noise the headphones allow. The law states that both ears can not be covered when driving/riding, and the use of a single right earbud does not affect the performance of the Bluetooth. Regardless, I liked the "Hear Through" option, as it allowed me to keep both earbuds in and still hear my surroundings. I liked the ability that the earbuds do a good job as a microphone to use as a Bluetooth headset. The one-touch response to initiate google assistant was also nice. I did not get the feedback that I was in a tunnel while on Bluetooth. If anything, people did not realize I was on the phone, and the other end was unaware that I was not holding the phone. The calls are crystal clear. I will say that my bone with Bluetooth speakers is that the protocol only allows sync of one channel on Bluetooth, and oftentimes, there is a delay between the left and right earbuds due to the complex retransmit of the signal between the earbuds. I did not find there was a lag during my testing, if there was one, it was too minute to notice. Pros: * Lightweight, great sounding for audio and voice * no sweat design, good water protection. * battery life. Cons: * Hard to figure out which earbud goes in which ear * Button press for certain features are confusing at times

Don't hesitate, if the Jabra Elite Active 75t bluetooth ear buds are in your budget, get them! The sound quality and bass is outstanding, they're small enough to casually hide in your ear, the 7.5 hours of battery life will have you set for almost a full day, they charge quickly, fit snug yet comfortable, have an adjustable 5 band EQ, and are ip57 waterproof rated, so there's no worries about sweating it up and accidentally killing them. There's so much I love about these headphones, it's hard to figure out where to start. Aesthetically, the Jabra Active 75t earbuds are attractive yet small enough to stealthily fit in your ear without being distracting. It's great when you don't want to draw attention to them and therefore won't throw off your look or outfit either. What's especially nice is that the case for them is very compact and easily fits in any pants pocket so it's not a hassle to keep them with you. This is key for not only protecting the headphones, but because the case holds another 20 hours of battery life to charge the headphones, so you can refuel them while they're in the case in your pocket if needed. If you're in a rush, you'll get 60 minutes of life within the first 15 minutes of charging... not too shabby. Sound quality wise, OMG. The bass extension is better than any headphone or earbud I've sampled. From tight to boomy, with the 5 band EQ, it's up to you. The frequency range is well balanced too, as you can hear the individual notes, among many other nuances in songs you might not have heard before. It's a joy to listen to these and thank Jabra for making the user EQ settings savable. Switching up EQ profiles is just a button press away in the Jabra app and couldn't be more simple. Speaking of the Jabra+ app, it's required to use these headphones and is not obtrusive at all. It's pretty simple, with 3 different user programmable "Moment" settings so you can quickly switch settings for when you're working out vs riding in a car vs just casually listening to music. What's also a great feature is Jabra's "HearThrough" which essentially uses the built-in microphone to let in sound from your local environment, so you can hear what's going on around you. You can adjust how much sound it lets in with a simple slider in the app, and it's even easier to turn it off and on, with just a simple button press on the left earbud. This is especially great when you want to eavesdrop without letting people know you're listening. Would I recommend this to a friend? Heck yeah. The Jabra Active 75t is well built and very well thought out. They're light, sound incredible, won't look silly in your ears, sweatproof, and can go for over 7 hours on a single charge. If you're on the fence, just get them. They're wonderful.
