Jam - Classic Portable Bluetooth Wireless Speaker - Strawberry

all i wanted in a portable speaker.....Wireless, recargable, cheap....simply the best.....

I picked this little guy up for my work van because it's radio doesn't have a connection for a phone/mp3 player. I'd been getting by just putting the phone into the cup holder to amplify the sound, bit it only works well enough if she van isn't moving. So first, the price was right, I got it on sale for $25. I really liked the solid well designed packaging, I always appriciate when it can be re-utilized for other things rather than just throwing it away.The Bluetooth connected right to my phone with no hickups or issues and worked well, though i picked up an aux cable to save batterylife. I liked the little rubber base that allows you to place the speaker face down and have the sound reflect off for a bit of a boost. Worked very well in the cup holder. Though I found that the speaker volume could easily be turned up beyond the comfortable range even for my van rattling down the highway, and mostly just gave the thing a bit more bass. The speaker quality itself is ok, it can be a bit tinny, but I mostly listen to podcasts on it. I think if I was a big audiophile I'd dish out the money for a Bose speaker. But for its price, I think you'd be hard pressed to beat it. I absolutely love how small and compact it is, and attractive as well. (I got the metallic blue, though the red also looked nice)

The HMDX Jambox speaker has amazing sound quality for the price. The system itself fits inside of a jam jar yet fills the room with enough sound that you would think it was coming from an 8" speaker. The wireless range is fantastic, well within the reasonable means of utilization of the product. I have had friends and family gawk at the device because they never expected sound of this quality and volume to come out of a device so small. The speaker also has a slide-proof rubber coating on the bottom that keeps it from sliding around on table-tops. ***However be cautioned. The speaker does not work on a windows platform. There is no driver for windows that will allow you to hook up the speaker to your laptop. But the speaker will connect to your bluetooth phones and all bluetooth capable apple devices. I personally turn on that speaker and have my iPad with me to control all the music because it's much more portable than a laptop with a solid aluminum frame. Overall consensus: If you want to save money but still get your money's worth out of a speaker, BUY THIS! You'll be glad you did!

If I were basing this on size and price alone this Jambox would receive a 5 star "great" review. The sound output for the size is decent, certainly boosts what I would otherwise get out of my Kindle's speakers. For $20 the convenience of having the Kindle out of sight (and away from my toddler's reach) while the music plays is worth it alone. 4 instead of 5 starts because I do not believe the battery lasts as long as advertised, but this may be because I have volume turned to max. Also, had a few dropped/paused connections, though unable to confirm whether this was the Kindle dropping the WiFi or the Jambox dropping from the Kindle. All in all happy with the purchase, just dont expect to power a party with this speaker. Works great for an quiet evening in the backyard sitting at a table for four.

After we got this speaker, we bought one for our son for Christmas. He had a bedside speaker, but now with this new one, he can take it into the bathroom when he gets ready for work or when he is cooking dinner, he can set it somewhere in the kitchen to listen to music. One thing you will find out is that the charging cord is way too short so we decided to get a longer one, but that is the only negative I can say about this speaker. You won't be sorry if you purchase this speaker!

I would give this speaker an excelent rating if it was'nt for the missing next/skip functions and short wireless range. But what can you expect @ this price range. This little speaker sounds good even @ loud levels, connects easily to bluetooth devices, has a nice feel & weight to it, has a grippy material on the bottom base that prevents it from sliding or slipping off surfaces, not to mention it's affordable price & cool look. Overall I would recomend the Jam speaker to teens & adults alike.

I bought several small Bluetooth speakers of various brands. I wanted to have a speaker available while another one was charging, and I wanted to compare products. This speaker is really great. It was easy to pair, and the charge lasts several hours. The fidelity is excellent. I mostly listen to talking heads (NPR, BBC, and CBC). The sound is very clear and natural. In addition to live Bluetooth streaming, I often use this speaker with an MP3 player that has FM radio, so I am able to carry the news around the house and the yard. I’m afraid I can’t say whether someone listening to mostly music would like this speaker.

This is a good value. I love being able to listen to music from my phone without using earbuds when I'm at home. The quality of the sound is very good, and the volume fills a room nicely. My only negative is that it does not seem to hold the charge for as long as I would hope. I only listen to it about 30 minutes per day, and it's not unusual for me to go a few days without using it at all. I end up needing to charge it about once a week, which seems pretty often given how little overall use it gets. However, I would certainly buy it again because that is a minor inconvenience. It is very small for the amount of volume it generates, and it looks nice. I used it to replace an old boom box, and visually this has been a huge improvement.
