It is a good product. Jawbone needs to go back and redesign and add features that keep track of steps when working out in a gym. It works on a GPS system and tracks your physical movement from point A to point B. If you are walking on a treadmill, do not buy it. I lose sleep data due to the difficulty in keeping in sleep mode.
When the sleep mode is working, it gives good honest results. The one that I don't like is the fact that I never get good deep REM sleep and Jawbone confirmed. Now, what do I do to make changes so that I sleep better?

This is my 2nd Jawbone & it surely is better than the first, more so that I read the product specifications. I knew from the rather small manual that it is splash proof and not waterproof. I have really enjoyed the sleep analysis part of the UP app.

This is the third jawbone up band I buy - the first from BestBuy, which has nothing to do with product quality. The first two Up bands died just after the manufacturer's warranty expired. My spouse enjoyed the Up band so much, I purchased an Up24 for Christmas 2014. In less than 6 months, the Up24 is dead. It was charged as usual, but it won't turn on nor will it connect to the Up app. I would seriously reconsider buying another Jawbone band - they're expensive and don't last very long with normal, daily wear. Very disappointing!!

This is the first fitness band that I have used and overall, I am very pleased with it. It tracks steps taken pretty well and lets you log workouts and meals. I have found that the most unique feature has been the ability to track my sleep patterns with it, as well as using it as a smart alarm clock.
The only negative comment I have (and the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) is that it sometimes does not sync correctly with the companion app on my phone. The app seems to work correctly, but the band does not show up. This has only happened twice, and usually it corrects itself within an hour of use.

I'm new to the fitness scene and started running about a month ago. I got the Jawbone Up24 and am very happy. I can't say it's a fashion statement but it is a conversation piece as people will inquiry about what it is. This handy little bracelet talks to my smartphone via bluetooth and updates the included app. It logs my steps, activities and sleep. I can manually log my food intake into the app which is great. In turn it tells me calories burned vs calorie intake so I can be evermore mindful of what I eat. The app has a built-in coach with neat advice and tips to help me achieve my weight goal. I don't need the display on the bracelet as the app has it all there. It also links to the running app I use RunKeeper and pulls data for even more info that is helping me be healthy.

Most of my friends have Fitbits, which I had been scoping out for a while, but found this Jawbone on sale and have been pleasantly surprised with its performance. I enjoy the slim design of the Jawbone, and also the slightly "blingier" look of the Jawbones as compared to the Fitbit. The Jawbone almost looks like a piece of jewelry. The app was easy to download and I have found it to be super easy to use. The device itself tracks your stepson your sleep patterns, which I find very interesting to see each morning. The app also allows you to add foods/beverages, specific activities, weight and allows you to set goals. The only thing that I have found to be a bit glitchy about the device is that it if I go to bed after midnight it seems to miscalculate the number of hours that I have slept by an hour. Not sure what the deal is with that, but it's not something that really bothers me that much. This activity tracker does not have a heart rate monitor, which is the only other feature that I really would have liked to have, but for the price it's a really great device and keeps me motivated to get to my number of goal steps for the day!

Pro's
-Pretty accurate step counter
-Battery lasts a long time (after the update)
-Comfortable
-Alarm clock is cool
-bugs me when I have been sitting too long, but I can't tell it to stop bugging me when I am in a situation where I can't move (car/class/meeeting)
Con's
-Blue tooth does not connect to my 2 year old smart phone.
-I never remember to put it in sleep mode
-It does connect to my Ipad, but I don't get the instant alerts etc.

I bought this item on sale for $30. At that price, it is great. It tracks sleep, steps, activities, calories in/out (based on the daily info you put in). Only the large size was available, which is a bit big for me, so it moves around on my wrist a lot. I wear a watch on the same wrist when I want it to not move much. My first charge lasted about 3 weeks, but that's probably cuz I'm not very active. I've had it for almost a month and so far it has held up. It's fallen off once in a game of basketball but it was fine.
A:My experience with previous versions and now Up 2 is that it is very accurate if you wear the bracelet as instructed and take the time to calibrate it to your movements. For Up 24, see the link below on how to calibrate an activity. The more you customize to yourself so the smart coach can learn your movement, the more accurate your tracked data will be. https://jawbone.com/kb/articles/UP24gscalibrating.html
A:I charged mine the first day I got it for a few hours, and ever since then I only hook it up to the charger when I shower. I've never had a low charge and have been wearing the band for two months!
A:In general it is a step tracker, so unless you tell it to add an activity, you should be able to see the number of steps registered while on the stairstepper. As for it knowing types of steps, you may be able to help it get smarter by calibrating for the different types but not sure about that part of your question. Good luck! https://jawbone.com/kb/articles/UP24gscalibrating.html
