Brilliant management of sleep and activity
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been interested in a fitness band for some time and finally decided on the UP3 by Jawbone. I fell in love with the gold bracelet look then found that the tracking of my sleep and activity gave me purpose to get healthy. I love the smart coach. I also bought one for my friend's birthday and we are both enjoying wearing these all day and night. My sleep has improved and I am getting more active. I am also recording my water intake but can't be bothered with the food recording as it is really focused on American food menus and is a nuisance for me frequently traveling overseas. The band does not show any stats so you have to refer to a smartphone or tablet to see what you have done. This does not bother me as I do not run so do not need to refer to readings during any activity.

Expensive for what it delivers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Sand Twist Gold because it was dressier than most to go with my work clothes but after one month the band part is already looking dingy and worn and it does not clean up well. Also I have an HTC phone and I have to pair the two every morning, I bought this band because it said it worked with my phone but it is not a great match. It is very expensive for the quality of product and delivery of what it said it would do with my phone. I would recommend if black is purchased and purchaser owns an I Phone.

Better than others, but design can be improved
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a very good wearable with excellent functions, however the design could be improved, it is not as fragile as its predecessors but continues reflecting a kind of fragility sensation, the clip definitely should be better.

Great piece, worth the upgrade!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just want to touch on the previous Trackers owned so you know where I'm coming from: Fitbit Zip - Good starter piece, limited features, perfect for simply counting steps with great battery life. Clip on design...good as long as you can remember to take it off before you throw your clothes in the wash. Water resistant but won't hold up very long if you don't learn the first time. Fitbit One - Got this as it had the sleep tracker in addition to the fitness tracker. Good tracker and decent app. Drawback of changing it from the clip holder to the wrist holder when sleeping every night. Again, this was a clip on design so it's easy to put in the wash (which I learned from the first two times) but ended up losing this due to the size. Jawbone UP24 - Tried the UP24 after I lost the Fitbit One to see how I can handle something on my wrist 24/7 since I haven't worn a watch in many years. It wasn't bad. Good entry tracker, easy to use and GREAT app including sleep. Based on the above, the UP24 would suffice for general, everyday tracking but was ready to upgrade with heart monitoring and advance sleep. I now have upgraded to both an Apple Watch and UP3. Got the Apple Watch about a month before the UP3 and was hoping it would do everything I wanted. The tracking side of the Watch is great...just no rich App to pair it to, but it does sync to the Up App just fine so I was about to settle. However, after a few times of working out...the Watch was ok when doing cardio but isn't the ideal when working out with weights or machines, which I generally do first, due to the size and the potential of banging it up. So I decided to get the UP3 as well. Ok...I'm sure most of you are looking for a fitness tracker review...but I'm pretty sure that you've read lots of reviews already and finding out that most are pretty close and accurate, no matter what brand or model you have so I won't go into that. Where this unit really shines is the App. For those of you that have used various brands, you'll probably agree with me that the UP App is already the best out there. The UP3 App is even better with heart monitor and Advance Sleep with REM! I don't know of any other portable device that monitors heart and has Advanced Sleep except for the heart monitor bands that go around your chest. But with the UP3, you can see your heart rate on the same screen as your sleep and only wearing the wrist band...no other changes! You have full control over your workouts...schedule, duration, how hard you workout, etc. But sleep, once you fall asleep, you have no control. The UP3 App lets you see what happened. You can see why you're tired or feeling refreshed. I'm sure this will really come into play for those that have sleep apnea or other sleep challenges. It also makes you more cognizant of your overall health because if you're not sleeping right or enough, you're not letting your body repair itself. So now, I wear the Watch during the day, especially since I'm in meetings a lot and switch to the UP3 in the evenings or when I'm hitting the gym. I would rather see a digital screen than just lights and using buttons instead of tapping. For the sleep portion, I now strictly use the App rather than sitting there and tapping the piece as it's quirky at times and have to do it numerous times. The clasp...ok, I will admit, the clasp is my least desired part. I see why they did that...basically so that they only have to make a "one band fits all" and with the heart monitor sensors at the bottom, they couldn't make it like a watch strap. But there has to be a different way. Overall, I'm happy with the piece and have no regrets. If you're considering the UP2, I'd pay a little more and get the UP3 so you can get the heart tracking and advanced sleep. Not sure if UP4 is really worth it...if you're going to add a payment feature, make the piece with a digital face and at the minimum, a clock/timer/simple alarm. Sorry for being long winded but hope it helps you make a better, educated decision. Best to you and your health!

Q: QuestionWhen will Up3 be available for shipping?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Regarding the comment suggesting "August 2015," that would most likely be referring to new orders, if that news is indeed accurate—not preorders (for those who have a preorder through Jawbone or Best Buy). I've been in frequent contact with both Jawbone and Best Buy support and have been assured a "January or February" release, at least for initial preorders, which Jawbone have confirmed will be their first fulfillment priority. The CEO of Jawbone reported to Forbes today (1/22) that the delay is due to "sealing problems," which I assume is in regard to their promise for waterproof operation. I plan on sitting tight on my preorder for the time being, as the UP3 is definitely the superior product if they make good on their promises on the product page. However, if it's delayed any further and an update of the Microsoft Band comes out in the meantime, it could be the dealbreaker. Other current generation fitness trackers just dont have any appeal to me.

Q: QuestionQualityWill the UP3 be as prone to failure as the UP and UP24.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I'm not sure what failures you are talking about, but I got one for both myself and my wife. We've had no issues with them so far. We've had them for about 3+ weeks now. We are both really happy with them. I love the software features that help track your eating, sleeping, and exercise habits.

Q: QuestionWhen will active heart rate be available? All I read is that it only has resting HR, and no active HR.
Asked by Ace.
- A:Answer Since the latest software update it will now give a heart rate throughout the day or an average. So it's actually a lot better now. Glad this feature was added. Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionIs this waterproof?
Asked by Roxva.
- A:Answer It is water resistant. I take mine in the shower, and it's going to be fine in a rain storm, but it isn't recommended for swimming. I personally wouldn't hesitate to take it into the pool for laps, but it's not made to handle the pressures of deeper underwater use.

Q: QuestionWhen to charge it?Do I charge it before wearing? If so for how long?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I charged before 1st use but it only took 1hr and lasted 6.5 to 7days before needing another charge. When you open the phone app and sync the device to the app, you will see a red "low battery" sign as the indicator that charge is needed
