If you are a fan of 3D movies and love a fun, campy, "horror" movie then this is the blu-ray to buy! The 3D movie is an extra on the disc - which seems strange as its only marketed on the back of the cover as an extra and the quality of the 2D movie is not very good. The main 2D feature quality is extremely grainy. The real 3D is a treat to behold! It's real 3D and not blue and red lenses in cardboard. The main titles alone appeared to stretch across my living room and several scenes have gags that appear to come so far out of the TV that it almost makes you cross-eyed , The move is not as good as the original or 2nd one. It is campy and fun though to watch.

Now that title may be a little misleading. Of course, the 3-D experience from newer movies like 'Avatar' is more than likely better, but this is something I've waited to see in 3-D for more than 30 years (the vast majority of my lifetime up to now). I remember seeing the trailers for both this and 'Friday the 13th 3-D' back in 1983 and wanting desperately to see them both in the theaters. I saw neither unfortunately and only got to watch them in 2-D. Eventually, I did see F13 part 3 in 3-D, but it was the red/blue glasses 3-D. I totally expected that if I ever saw Jaws 3 in 3-D it'd likely be the same red/blue glasses. Nope!

I can remember wasting an entire summer watching this movie every day with a friend. Jaws 3 holds special memories for me. The story is laughable and just an excuse for over the top 3-D effects, but it's a good kind of cheese. Louis Gossett Jr. and Dennis Quaid turn in pretty good performances, despite the story. The Blu-Ray has a bonus feature of the movie in 3-D!! Worth it!
