      X3s are the Absolute Best Wireless Earbuds

      X3s Are simply Best of all EarBuds I think the Jaybird X3s are simply the best earbuds available to date ( 2016-11-20 ) and they are extremely functional, durable and comfortable; they have a long battery life ( ~8hrs ) and long Bluetooth range ( 100+ feet ); they produce a rich & deep sound that’s clear, crisp and clean. The audio / music can be adjusted and modified using JayBird MySound app’s 5 band equalizer with crossovers to add or subtract treble, bass or midranges to one’s preference and taste. The earbuds ( wings & tips ) are extremely comfortable after many hours of continual use and noise isolation is very good when using the comply tips that come in box. BASS is very good & strong You can add as much or little bass as you like or remove it entirely. I like and enjoy the way the X3s can be configured using the MySound 5 band equalizer so certain songs can be heard with very low bass that is long and drawn out; delivering that deep and long boooooooom. Have to Experience X3s to appreciate them. Words inadequate. I sincerely apologize, but I do not have the vocabulary to express or explain the joy, satisfaction and immense pleasure I receive & experience when listening to music on the X3s. Jaybird X3s are Superior and Better than X2s Jaybird X3s are superior to the X2s in every single area except when it comes to charging. Only Complaint with X3s is need for proprietary “Charging Clip” My only complaint about the X3s at this time is the need for a separate piece of proprietary hardware which Jaybird calls a “charging clip” to charge the X3 earbuds. What’s in the box: a. EarBuds b. 3 sets of Silicon Ear Fins ( small, medium, large ) c. 3 sets of Silicon Ear Tips ( small, medium, large ) d. 3 sets of Comply Isolation Ear Tips ( small,medium, large ) e. 2 cord clips f. 1 shirt clip g. 1 Carry Pouch h. 1 USB to Micro USB cable with “Charging Clip” attached NO charger included. Use any charger that has USB connection with less than 5.5v output. X3s Paired quickly & easily with phone and laptop. a. you can pair earbuds to two separate devices simultaneously. b. you can easily switch between both devices, but not play simultaneously. c. to switch between devices, pause one device, then press play on the other. Controller buttons are very responsive to touch and work with very little pressure or fidgeting. Vol +/-: * increases ( + ) or decreases ( - ) volume * if held down will skip forward ( + ) or backwards ( - ) Play/Pause: * if lightly pressed will play or pause audio * if held down will turn earbuds On or Off If X3 is paired ( has Bluetooth connection ) and no audio is playing then pressing Vol +/- will announce battery charge. Volume can be turned down so low that it's barely audible or up so high that it's extremely loud and would hurt one's ears if the Jaybird MySound 5 band equalizer is configured so all levels are high ( at max )... MySound App The MySound app can be used to: a. save Music Profiles ( equalizer settings ) to the earbuds b. customize Music Profile using the app’s equalizer c. test audio going to left or right earbuds d. switch left & right audio on earbuds e. display X3 battery status on phone f. view faqs or download user guides g. text / chat with support The Jaybird MySound app connects to the X3s via Bluetooth “Only”. If there is no Bluetooth connection with the X3s, meaning an Android or IOS device is not paired with the X3, then the MySound app will not be able to do following: a. get status of battery charge from the earbuds b. display battery charge on the android or ios device c. save equalizer settings ( Music Profile ) to the earbuds Automatic turn off: If the earbuds are completely idle: ( no Bluetooth signal and none of the buttons on the earbud are touched ), then the earbud will automatically turn itself off after ~5mins. If any of the buttons are touched on the controller, then the 5min countdown timer will reset itself and the earbud will turn itself off 5mins after the buttons were touched. Charging: Full ( 100% ) charge last ~8hrs depending on volume & bass. With 1A charger it takes: ~2.50 hrs to charge from 0% to 100%. With 2A charger it takes: ~1.25 hrs to charge from 0% to 100%. With 1A charger: 15-20 mins charge adds ~1hr audio play. With 2A charger: 15-20 mins charge adds ~2hrs audio play. Avoid any USB charger that has more than 5.5v output. Any USB chargers ( Wall, Car, etc ) that supply more than 5.5v will damage Jaybird X3 earbuds and should not be used. X3 Battery charge can be checked: * When earbuds are first turned on charge is announced. * MySound app displays battery charged on earbuds. * Pressing Vol +/- when no audio is being played. * Pulling down notification panel shows % battery charge left. You can listen to music while charging the earbuds. It’s a little tricky as you have to make sure the “charging clip” doesn’t disconnect from the inline controller, but it’s possible if you’re somewhat stationary as in laying or sitting down, even standing up ( if you’re using portable battery bank / charger ); so long as you don’t move around too much causing “charging clip” to become detached from the inline controller you will be able to listen to audio / music and charge the earbuds. Bluetooth Connectivity: If there is no Bluetooth connectivity ( earbuds are not paired ) and there is no audio or music being played the earbuds will automatically turn themselves off after ~ 5mins. Earbuds will not turn off automatically so long as there is a Bluetooth signal and connectivity ( X3s are paired ) even though no audio / music is being played. Bluetooth Range: * 33 feet is spec * 100 feet was very solid * 100-150 feet sensitive to movement * 150-311 feet very sensitive to movement Bluetooth signal and audio reception and use of controls ( Vol +/-, Play/Pause ) at distances measured above was better in a large enclosed room or gym than outside under open sky. Bluetooth Signal Passes Through Walls I can hear audio and music all throughout the house. I placed phone in one side of house and was able to walk to most of the rooms in the house both upstairs & downstairs, including garage and there was no disruption in Bluetooth connection nor significant degradation in sound. Signal passed through walls. Highly Recommend getting the BestBuy Extended Warranty

      (Almost) Perfect Wireless Earbuds

      I've gone through many reviews and spent countless hours (exaggerated a bit) watching youtubers review this product along with many other competitor products such as the Beats X, Apple Airpods, Samsung Icon X etc. and in the end I chose the Jaybird X3 because the pros for the X3 outweighs the cons by a very large margin. Reminder that nothing is perfect but within the Wireless earbuds department, there is nothing closer to perfect than the X3. Pro: Battery life is always an issue with these wireless earbuds but with the X3, I've never really had to worry about batterylife as the X3 does as they say it would (8 hours). On a weekly basis, I'd really only have to charge it, maybe twice. I use it everytime I commute to work and I commute by using public transportation. It takes about 30 minutes to and 30 minutes from (totaling at 1 hour) and I work at least 5 days a week and usually by the end of the work week I would be left with 20% left. No problem. Just plug it in and your earbuds should be full in about an hour. A good addition is that everytime you turn it on, it tells you the current batterylife before connecting to any devices. The X3 also tells you when you have 20% left even if you are in the middle of streaming or lost with the music. Another plus. Water Resistant is always a plus. I come from a city/state that is known for it's sudden change in weather. One day it can be bright, sunny and clear. Next day, rain, thunderstorm and or snow. I've never had to worry about getting my X3 wet as they would work just fine in any natural occurrences. Idk about natural disasters, I'm not willing to put my X3 or myself up to the test. Connection works like a breeze. Connecting it for the first time is as simple as turning the X3 on, and connecting it to a bluetooth ENabled device. Everyother time after that, as long as the bluetooth on your device is on, the X3 will automatically connect when turned on. And it only automatically connects to devices that it has connected to before. Smart! Meh/Can improve on The wires are unnoticable but that is really only when it isn't in use and is dangling around your neck. I've had times that I forgot that it was even there and threw tantrums about losing something worth $130. But then when I realize that it is around my neck, I am once again reminded of how glad I am, that the X3 is wireless but wired to keep them from being lost, unlike the Airpods or Icon X. The negative is that moving your head around is limited to how long the wire is. There are times when I had to tilt my head or even turn my whole body to look at something: to avoid pulling the earbuds out of my ears. And then turn back to have to adjust the wires everytime so that one side isn't to tight and the other isn't too loose. But every now and then, when in use, I do in fact forget that the wires are there, until I have to turn my head... Might just be my specific product but within the first few hours of unpacking it for the first time, one side of the earbud fell off so I had to go looking for it. This is why I try to avoid in-ear earbuds as the tip can fall off and get lost without you noticing or come off and get lodged into your ear (never happened to me but one can never be too cautious). Just don't like having stuff jammed into my ear. Plus side is that the X3 comes with wingtips so you can adjust how far the tip of the earbud goes into your ear without worrying that it will fall out of your ear as the wingtips will keep the earbuds in place. Sound does drop for a split second every now and then, when you cover the mic piece but it's not a big deal to me. Just something to note. Can be improved on. Cons The charging port is not standard and requires a unique plug in. Lose that, your X3 is worthless unless you find the plug in or get a new one. This is the main deal breaker and perhaps the only reason that I refrain from calling the X3 perfect. I've had many occasions in which I had to rummage through my bag, drawer, bed, clothing, just to find it. I would not have gotten the X3 if they didn't balance it out with it's great battery life. Something to take note, Jaybird. Main deal breaker for most Idk Not a sound expert/audiophile so long as I can listen to music for a long time, then I don't care about quality Summary The X3 is a bang for it's buck. Cheaper than most models. Long batterylife. Water resistant. Smooth connection. With most smartphone makers moving towards the idea of (truly) wireless, #RIP #Headphone #Jack #(Sorry to all the Jacks out there); the X3 is a 100% must have wireless earbud (only if you are careful not to lose the plug-in like I do every now and then). This is a win.

      The app is worth it alone

      I've used these so far for 1 week and can say that even out of the box I knew they were worth it. I commute to my university 1 hour to and back, go to the gym, and listen to music while relaxing. So I listen to music probably 4 hours+ everyday. I know Jaybird x3 are one of the best, because if you google "what is the best wireless earbuds/headset?" Jaybird's are always there or at the top of articles. Plus the price is beyond responable compared to other wireless buds and considering all the nice additions you get such as the app, foam tips, patented ear hooks, and much more. Earbud tips 10/10 When I took them out of the box I found out a lot of stuff that I would reccomend. First they come with two kinds of earbud tips, silicone and foam. The foam tips in my opinion are way better than the silicone as you can press them down they then reinflate in your ear making a better seal. Another thing is silicones when artist say any word with an "s" it sounds like a snake, but not with the foam tips. Only down side is that you lose trembles and some vocal clarity as it does seem a bit muffled compared to silicones. Also you can buy a set of ear tip that come with isolate, comfort, and sport foam tips on Amazon for a specific measuremee(small,medium,large) instead of buying a set with only multiple measurements. Patented Ear hooks 9/10 These ear hooks are 100% effective in keeping the earbuds in your ear. Honestly there is no other option with these hooks as you have to keep them on. I found that if you take them off both silicone and foam tips fall out with a simple turn of the head within seconds. But with them on you can shake your head all you want and they won't budge. Comforability wise when you initially put them in your ear it is very soft, but later on you can kinda feel the hooks poking your ear. Then later you will get used to it. I found that you have to make sure the ear tips are not too small, so the hooks don't get close enough to poke your ear (I use the medium foam tips, small hooks). Odd charging process 8/10 I'm not sure if this is new, but you have to plug this small port into an wall charger/laptop port (some people recommend not plugging it into a wall charger port). Then attach the port onto the console (the +, -, play button part) and it charges. Some people don't like this as it's a unique charging device that if you lose will have to order a new one from Jaybird themselves. I simply keep mine at home and never move, but will be planning and recommend to get another one and attach it to your keychain as it's pretty light. Bluetooth capabilitie 10/10 It's pretty basic in you hold the play button for a bit which actives a friendly promt connecting you to your device. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 and so far it has worked prefectly in holding a connection, pairing/automatically pairing, and really anything else. App + Sound (THE BEST PART) 10/10 The most important thing about headphones are the sound and I combined the sound and app, because the app makes a huge difference. The app is called MySound, and in it you have the option to custimize low, mid, and high ranges which most people including myself don't know how to manipulate too well. Luckily, a community has developed that have featured select "sound profiles" that are premade manipulations of the different ranges making. There are hundreds of profiles that are usually personalized for specific genes to make bass, vocals, and other parts lower or can amplify them. Also the app provides you with an icon of the battery life of the earbuds which is definitely handy. I highly recommend trying out the "Hi Def Audio" profile as you will see the difference and why it is so worth it.

      First day, A+ from my end

      I haven't had these x3s for more than a day now, but after chatting on the phone for an hour, listening to a couple of hours of music at work, and listening to music while on a two mile trail-run (all on the charge straight out of the box) these Jaybirds have performed fantastically. The price was fine, coming from the corded Bose Soundsports these were not overpriced in comparison. The fit was weird from that Bose transition- they felt more invasive in my ear, but it was easy to get used to. They cancelled noise pretty well (more effective than the Bose Soundsports) with the foam buds in, and sat nicely in my ear with the small ear fins (and I have small narrow ears). When running I was actually surprised to not feel them try to wiggle out, or shift around. The controls were smooth and it worked great with my iPhone 5s. The sound quality was awesome, but the bass will oversaturate some music. With the app paired with these headphones, the bass can be taken care of (add more bass if you like) and the music playing can be balanced the way you like. I have not had any issues with the app's connecting, or bluetooth connection. On day one these guys are pretty fantastic! If you're debating it, I'd say give them a try. Bestbuy has a pretty good exchange policy if you hate them. I've never had Jaybirds before, but reviews on the x2s got me interested, so I got these x3s to test out. I'll be keeping them.       The Search for Perfect Earbuds Is Over.

      First, a little bit about the old model, the X2s, for comparison. I have been long searching for the perfect bluetooth earbuds. This search eventually led me to the Jaybird X2s about a year ago. While having hands down the best sound I'd ever heard from earbuds, period, the caveats had me making reservations. First, the battery was finicky. It really only liked to be charged from a laptop USB port- so using it with my battery bank would show that it was fully charged and then the battery would last about half as long. Don't even think about leaving them plugged in too long either, or they would literally discharge! On top of this, it seemed sometimes the battery would randomly be worse than other times and just conk out on me. Even the battery indicator on my iPhone would show them at 100%, then 60%, then 20%. It didn't update often enough to provide a realistic look at where the battery was. The build was nothing to write home about either. These were durable, but entirely plastic. The cover over the Micro-USB port was very, very flimsy and appeared as if it could snap at any moment. The sound, though, is what kept me a Jaybird loyalist. When I saw the X3s had landed, I ordered them immediately hoping some of my concerns would be remedied. First, the battery problems on the X2. No more with the X3s- they work fine on battery banks, and the battery life itself is longer than ever before, realistically pushing 7 hours over and over. Wow. The iPhone indicator now updates with each loss of 10% all the way down to 40%, then it jumps straight to 20. A marked improvement - plus, you can see the exact percentage at any time within the new MySound app. The plastic build is now reinforced with metal highlights including the stems under the eartips- a nice touch to build and durability that doesn't seem to add weight. The earbuds themselves are smaller to provide easier use with hats/lying in bed/etc. And the sound- the sound! It's cleaner and crisper than ever. Basically the same- maybe a wider soundstage (albeit very slight)- but I'm glad they didn't change it. I use the flat signature because it's what I loved so much about the X2s, but if you're a basshead or whatever you can now change your own response curve (EQ) within the Jaybird MySound app. My one worry going into the X3s was the move from MicroUSB to a proprietary "cradle." I have to say, though, I actually prefer it now. I was worried about having to carry a proprietary cable around, but it turns out the cradle plugs into micro-usb so I can just bring the cradle instead of a whole new cable in my bag. The move to a cradle also makes it very easy to start charging and also allows more significant water/sweatproofing to the housing of the earbuds. I ended up preferring the new charging method- go figure. Overall, the X3s are not only a more refined X2 but a marked upgrade in almost every category. These kick any other earbuds under $3-400 to the ground with incredible sound- and they're freaking bluetooth. A real lifesaver since my new iPhone doesn't have a headphone jack. But now that these are my daily music experience, that doesn't matter anymore. And they're $50 cheaper than the old ones at launch? Well done, Jaybird. Well done. This is one of the best purchases I've ever made.

      Good for 2 months

      These are a great pair of earphones for the first 2 months of use. This review may come off as a fiery one-time occurrence, but I assure you that it is not one of 5/5 reviews posted by someone an hour after he or she bought the product. Candidly, these are some pros & cons of the x3s before larger issues arose (skip if you would like to get to the larger issue): PROS: -Phenomenal Audio Quality -Charged quickly -Adaptable earpieces offer customization -App provided listening options other brands do not CONS: -the play/pause/volume buttons were always delayed regardless what bluetooth device I used -proprietary charging piece meant that I could not use the headphones if I lost the piece even for a short period of time -white plastic gets stained from sweat BIGGER ISSUES: About 1.5 months into using these earphones, the app stopped working. I reached out to Jaybird, and after a couple days, they emailed me back telling me to reinstall it. (I had already tried that before I called them.) I could do without the App if it meant the headphones still worked, so I kept on using them. Slowly, the range of the headphones decrease, and charges lasted shorter periods of time. Eventually, I would charge them for the recommended time, and the green light would turn on to show they were fully charged. I would go to turn them on and then they would turn off immediately. I reached out to Jaybird requesting a warranty claim. It took them longer than 48 hrs to get back to me each time I responded to their messages, and when I finally got in contact with someone, their customer service as a joke. The Jaybird rep asked me to take a picture of the headphones, cut them down the middle, and take a picture of the cut headphones. Then I should email Jaybird both pictures. I honestly thought this was a scam. The customer service had been so unprofessional up to this point that I thought I was being scammed. The customer service representative could not open an image from google drive, a .jpg, or .png. Eventually I sent him a pdf, and he was unwilling to scroll down to see the second picture of my headphones. The whole process was a hassle. Once I finally received my replacement pair, they stopped working within 2 months. Absolute joke. Additonally, the foam ear pieces fell apart within 2 weeks of use, and the fins stopped attaching to the earbud after some time. Go buy some beats, bose, or airpods. You might even get better durability from a pair of earphones at a truck stop.

      Here is a copy of what I wrote to Jaybird support in regards to these headphones. I purchased your product from Bestbuy 2 weeks ago. I was only able to use it for one day as it would not charge at all after initial use. I went to bestbuy and returned the defective unit and got an exchange as I really did enjoy the earphones when I went to work out and chalked it up to bad luck. I have now had the replacement unit for 2 weeks and they were working perfectly up until today. While I was working out they just cut off even though it said it was at 40% charge. I tried to press all buttons and even reset it and they would not turn on. I tired to charge them and the light flickered from red to white to red then nothing at all. I have tried several chargers and the earphones will not turn on or charge. I am very disappointed, I did a lot of research before getting these earphones and spent a good amount of money because I really believed they were worth it but now I honestly believe they are junk. I am going to return these earphones to bestbuy tomorrow and get my money back as well as write reviews on their website and amazon to warn people about this issue as I have now found several post on even your website about this known issue. I just wanted to take the time to write support so that hopefully someone would read this and address this issue. You have lost a customer and what sucks is that I really really liked the earphones when they did work although that does me no good now because I'm out of earphones and it's back to square one...       Sudden Death; GET GEEK SQUAD PROTECTION

      I've owned several pairs of wireless "sport" headphones. Three of which have been Jaybirds. My first set of Jaybirds were the first generation of "Freedoms". They lasted over a year, but died a sudden death. That is to say they simply stopped working suddenly with no hope of repair. I was OK with this as I worked out and traveled with them heavily for over a year, and was mostly satisfied with the lifespan given my daily usage. I then purchased my first set of X3s, but they lasted less than six months and died a sudden death. My third, and final set of Jaybirds, another set of X3s, died a sudden death after only two months. There are numerous complaints on Jaybird's website with similar issues from people who work out with the X3s several days per week. Unfortunately, the best part of my last two pairs of X3s was the Best Buy 2-Year Geek Squad Replacement Plan. Here's the wrap-up on the X3s: Pros: The shape, size, weight and battery life are all superior for wireless headphones in this price range. Range and speech / voice are also superior. Sound Quality: OK at best. If you're an audiophile, then you'll likely be disappointed as there is not much low-end, and the mid - highs lean towards the "tinny" end. If audio quality is not a priority for you, then you'll be satisfied with the X3s. Cons: I'm not certain why my last two pairs of X3s died suddenly with only a couple months of use. Most owners with similar issues share a common trait: we tend to work out with them several times per week, and most of us believe the X3s short out either through the charging contacts or with moisture build-up in the ear piece. Either way, they simply DON'T LAST under regular rigorous work-out conditions. Summary: I'm done with Jaybirds for now, and made the switch to the Bose Soundsport after being bitten three times by Jaybirds. I'm new to the Soundsports, but here's my initial impression: Pros: Sound quality is exactly what you would expect from Bose, and far superior to Jaybirds. Battery life is great, although the Jaybirds still have the Bose beat by a about two hours (6 hours with Bose vs 8 hours with Jaybirds). The "Bose Connect" app is very innovative and seems like it will be useful with features like "find my headphones". The charging port uses a common micro USB that connects to a sealed port. This is great because the Jaybirds redesigned their charger to be a proprietary set of direct contacts that snap into a proprietary charging cradle. This always seemed like a cumbersome design flaw with Jaybird as the exposed contacts are designed to conduct electricity, and I simply don't see how regular sweat wouldn't eventually become problematic. Cons: The Bose "appear" slightly more clunky than the Jaybirds, but they're very comfortable and the size to weight ratio is right in line as they are very light even though they "appear" slightly larger. I can't say how they hold up to my tough exercise routine yet as I've only had them a couple of days...But, I'm excited to find out.

        Also, here are suggestions that can help prevent the issue from occurring.

        • Computers are the best and safest method, as is anything 1 AMP or less.
        • Car chargers produce a much greater power supply and should be avoided.
        • Over-charging the battery will quickly reduce the life of the headphones, so in addition to monitoring the power supply, limit the charge time to 2.5 hours,
        • To get the most out of your battery it is recommended to charge the buds when the low battery status is indicated.
        • Avoid charging your headphones after exposure to sweat.
