First, I got the new JBL SB450 for a ridiculous sale price of $399. FYI: Best Buy updates all TV's, Soundbars around 15 March every year and must clear inventory for the new arrivals and tech. I was planning to spend $500-750 for a decent Soundbar after being spoiled by the later model JBL SB400 I still use in another home. I employ both of these systems for theatre/movies/music via Bluetooth in different homes. The sound quality, surround, Dolby Audio, true 4K sound, JBL sound-shift, clear dialogue and voice enhancement are superior. The sound bar has clean highs (tweeters) with perfect mid-range that I consider better then Bose (I have a Bose system) Mid-Range is where a lot of the voice comes from and with the adjustable crossover function on the Sub, coupled with the clear dialogue, there is no more "wash out". Such as during high action scenes with a raising score/music, you either hear the music and cannot hear the dialogue, one has to give. Not with this system, set it to your liking and hear/feel everything. Now to what I consider the #1 Asset of this system is the 8" self powered 200 watt wireless subwoofer. I have tested or had over 10 systems including some that were north of $1K and this Sub outperforms all of them with pure, deep, bass. It does not rattle nor roll with action scenes, you can hear/feel the individual punches (if you will). With other systems, you "hear" the bass (and mostly in voice due to lack of an adjustable crossover) meaning you're close to distortion. The difference with this Sub is that you feel the bass & hear the bass though the crossover setting you prefer and can adjust the total bass output on your remote. I like my movies loud and often shake my blinds, side table etc when I am running at 1/2 power. This system also doubles as my stereo as I run my playlists and music apps through it after I switch off the surround sound. This system is rated at a total of 440 watts. Try and found that with a dedicated 240 watts to the Soundbar and a dedicated 200 watt digital amp in the Sub for anywhere near this price. Caution: Your significant other will tell you to turn it down and your pets will scatter as they think its thunder.

Great soundbar. I plugged it in and it worked. No app to download, no settings to change, no remote to set up. My TV remote controls it and it is great. I was looking to replace my 5.1 speaker system and A/V receiver. I could never get the sound just right. I had to mess with multiple settings from the xbox sound output, to the TV sound output, to the receiver settings. So I originally got a top of the line Sony HTST5000. And that had too many settings, I had to change the output of my Xbox One and components and set everything to go through the soundbar, and then connect the soundbar to my TV. I enjoy my Samsung Smart TV, and being able to select the Xbox, or Roku through the TV remote. The sound on the Sony Soundbar did not blow me away. The voices on movies sounded muffled and the action sounds were too overbearing. So I took it back and got this Awesome JBL. The moment I hooked it up I was impressed. I didn't have to go through a setup, it worked flawlessly with my TV, and it synced automatically with the subwoofer. The sub is large and in charge, I have it turned way down and it fills my living room with great boom. The sound of the bar is awesome. I can hear voices clearly, and action sounds are not overpowering. Its great. The reason I got rid of my 5.1 system, is that I mostly now watch streaming services and the sound comes in just stereo. So there is no need for the Atmos, or DD, or DTS. I just need simple room filling sound and as easy to operate as the TV sound. All I have to set is the sound volume and the bass volume. It is great. If you are looking for a simple great solution with great quality sound, this is the ticket.
