All I Can Say is .... WOW!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI think I've bought about every portable Bluetooth speaker available in the last two years. (I'm exaggerating of course, but I have bought a lot, at least ten) Bose came the closest, but it's so expensive I don't dare take it with me anywhere for fear of losing or dropping it. Jambox had a great size but distorted easily. Soundfreaq was just ok, but too big to haul around. Monster was cute and very clear but lacked the full fidelity I wanted. Extrememac was good but didn't play very loud and the battery was tempermental. Then I tried the JBL Flip. WOW! It's built like a tank, comes with a case, and sounds just great. No, it's no Bose, but then my Bose cost three times as much. The sound on this thing is incredible for it's size. You can't sit near it and crank it up all the way it's that loud, without distortion I may add. The Bass is not booming, but pleasing with just enough punch to compliment the treble. ...and the treble ...it's so clear, you'll hear lyrics to songs you never was able to understand before ..... or drum riffs .... it's just so pleasing to the ear. For 99 dollars you can't beat this little dynamo... it's half the price of the jambox, one third the price of the Bose. Buy it, try it, you can always return it if not pleased .... but trust me, you'll be keeping this one. Great job JBL.

Best portable speaker hands down! 👍
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI did my research before buying any portable device and this one had the best review. I compared it to the Beats Pill and every review said that the sound quality on the Pill was horrible. After buying the JBL flip I can personally say it is the best. The sound quality is tremendous, and it is loud for a speaker this small. It isn't bass heavy, due to the size but your not going to find any portable speakers that are bass heavy. They are more for the sound. Now I have been reading people's review about how they are having trouble connecting the Flip to a second device. This is what you do, HOLD THE POWER BUTTON FOR THEEE SECONDS AND IT WILL START BLINKING RED AND BLUE, THAT WILL RESET THE DEVICE AND IT WILL ALLOW YOU TO PAIR WITH MULTIPLE DEVICES. I put it in caps so people can read it lol. But overall this is hands down the best portable device, it is small, compact, sound quality is the best, and it is priced reasonable (compared to the $200 Beats Pill that isn't so great) so if your looking for a portable speaker to take with you say the river, something to to have in your room, or while you shower, look no more you have found the best one. JBL FLIP FTW! Lol

Great bang for your buck
|Posted .I was on my way too a large presentation of 25 professionals, and I decided to invest in a better speaker than what I had. There were multiple brands to choose from but I wanted to stay under the $100 mark. Although it was risky to purchase something like this the day of, it paid off. The space I presented in was an open space, no walls and high ceilings. The JBL speaker was very clear and projected well in the space. I was concerned about the amount of power it had so I did charge for 30 minutes prior, and it lasted the full hour. I liked it so much I bought a second one for my office. If your looking for something compact and relatively inexpensive this is a great choice.

Better than the beatspill
Posted .This is a quality product. It produces a very clean and loud sound. It is portable, has a nice carrying case (although, I wish the carrying case had some sort of hook, loop, or carabiner so I can attach it to my bag). This also connects to multiple devices. Disconnecting from one device and connecting another device can be a little complicated. I had to refer to the manual quite a few times before I memorized how to do it. I'm a big fan of Beats by Dre so I decided to purchase a 2nd portable stereo speaker and too my surprise, the JBL Flip was a louder and better product. Not to say the beatspill is bad; I like that too. I'm just saying the JBL Flip is the best between of the two. Added bonus; JBL Flip is cheaper.

Jbl rocks the small speaker world!!! Great!!
Posted .Let me just add, that I have enter car audio contests and I've heard it all. If you have the money Bose is pretty much the way to go, when it comes to boomboxes. But I was very happy to see JBL come out with a bluetooth speaker. They are well know for their great car audio and excellent small speakers for in stores. I had did my homework and found a couple of different units. Top of the list jbl flip, jawbone, jabra and the pill. Well let me say that after listen to them all it came down to the pill and the flip. The store rep said nothing beats the pill for the price and said he had one. I had listened to the flip in another bestbuy store. This store did not have one out to hear. (but they had the white one in stock) I told him I would like to hear them side by side, but i said i'm pretty sure the jbl flip blows the pill away. He said "what, no way". So he asked to take one out. We heard them side by side. He said "WOW, You were right, Thats a lot louder. This unit is very close to the bose except for the base read out and its sound dynamics are the same if not better. Couldn't imagine the sound if they had four speakers, like the pill(you wouldn't know it though). In my opinion you are buying the name on the beats audio pill, whose sound might not cut it at a loud party. If you think its worth paying a 100 dollars more, get it. But if you want to surprise your friends and have enough loudness for a crazy PARTY, get the flip!! The blue tooth does cut out at 20' feet. So you will have to keep your phone around that area. I did go upstairs with my phone and had no trouble. I've heard some people are having trouble with the pill cutting out also. You can buy two of these for the price of the pill. Thats crazy!!!

Beats the Pill, crushes the Jambox.
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI actually bought and returned a Jambox a couple of months ago -- it was just too much distortion and too little volume. And the Jambox sound is really colored -- low fidelity, to be sure. I was in the store the other day, and they had the new Pill and the JBL Flip hooked up, and I was absolutely amazed. I actually turned the volume of the Pill and the JBL Flip down a bit, to avoid causing a ruckus. The Jambox was distorting horrifyingly at the same volume -- just total, utter, distorted garbage. Meanwhile, the Pill and the JBL Flip could go much, much louder, with no distortion at all. Both the Pill and the JBL Flip sounded far better than Jambox, producing clear, accurate sound. But there was a real difference to them -- the JBL Flip had much, MUCH better bass. When the Pill would just produce hollow "pops," the JBL Flip produced real, satisfying bass. What a roaring success -- it's better than the Pill at half the price. And while the Jambox was the big thing when it was the only thing on the market, it's just a ridiculous waste of money compared to the JBL Flip. The JBL Flip paired up quickly and easily with my Samsung Galaxy Note phone and my Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet -- I sat and listened to a bunch of my favorite songs after I brought it home, and just utterly enjoyed the sound it produced. If you're in the market for a small portable Bluetooth speaker set, look no further. The JBL Flip is the best thing on the market, at a great price.

Better than the Jambox
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendPicked this up yesterday and was able to pair it up very easily via bluetooth. I was also able to switch between the Jambox and the flip very easily with no real delay. The look and feel of the JBL flips are fantastic. It has a grill mesh that makes the product feel sturdy and not cheap at all. The flip comes in white and black, but I think the white ones might be released later down the line as they were not available in store and can only be ordered online for delivery. No store pickup available yet. Features: Auxiliary input on the back with a power adapter port. There's a volume rocker on the side with the power button and an answer/end button. There's no USB port like the Jambox. So the only way for you to power the device is if you plug it into the wall outlet. It takes about 3 hours to fully charge the unit. You will get about 5 hours of music on this unit depending on how loud you have the volume set to. I love the fact that the speakers project upward when laid flat. Unlike the Jambox, where the speakers are projected on a flat plane. If you are listening to the Jambox while seated, it will not project the sound directly at you and you lose some of the luster. I had to actually hold the Jambox about a foot from me to really take advantage of the sound. Whereas the JBL seats tilted, the sound projects alot better and you get the full sound of the song being played. The JBL can also be stood up as it has rubber grips on the end so that it won't move when music is playing. Sound: The highs are clear and crisp. The mids can sound like it's coming out of a can sometimes. But after a while, your ears will adjust and it will not be a problem. The bass is not as deep as what I would like, but it's decent enough where it isn't the star. The one thing that I was really impressed about was the volume capacity. It can go twice as high as the Jambox. Even at it's peak volume, you will hear little to no distortion. This was very surprising as the Jambox had a hard time handling music at high volumes. You can hear the distortion from the highs and lows. One thing I failed to mention is that the Jambox will start to move when playing music with bass in it. It actually fell off the shelf at one point. Cons: As mentioned above, there's no USB port to charge or update the unit like the Jambox. I haven't had it long enough to try out the built in speaker phone. No battery indicator whether it be on the iPhone or on the device. I guess when the power button turns red means it's running low.

Great sound from a small form factor unit
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThe JBL puts out an excellent sound for its size. The Blue Tooth is picked up right away you also have the option for an AUX cable, the battery holds a long charge, I listened to tunes well over 8 hours before I had to charge.
