JBL - On Air Wireless Speaker System for Apple® iPod® and iPhone® - Black

Having Airplay built into this speaker is the main draw for me having bought it. Being able to sling wireless audio in the house from my iTunes or iOS device is awesome. Setup was easy, and had a consistent connection to my wireless router (Airport Extreme). My biggest gripe with this speaker is that you can not customize the sound! No changing the bass or treble to your liking. I thought I was missing something when I started reading thru the manual and could not find this option. The speaker's bass is weak and does not have a full sound like other JBL products. I have a JBL 400P which blows this out of the water sound wise. For $350, I would expect to at least have the sound quality of the 400P with Airplay capability. Hopefully JBL will release an update to better customize the sound, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Had the unit unpacked and was listening to my iTunes library, via AirPlay, from my Mac within 15 minutes. So easy to set up. It's a small, compact unit which is awesome for my small living room. The sound is way better than other small speaker units made for iPod (mp3). of course, you could spend a lot more and have better sound quality. there is no equalizer, so audiophiles probly won't like the sound, but the average to avid user will be very happy with it. I agree that the price is a bit much for such a unit; but I dare anyone to find something that sounds better for a better price.

The color screen is so small you need a telescope to see album art from across a room. Seems like the screen is a gimmick with no purpose. Whole products feels quite cheap, light plastic, not worth the $350, despite the airplay feature. Contrary to JBL website saying "Works with Wi-Fi and Ethernet networks", this does NOT HAVE ETHERNET and no 802.11n Wi-Fi support, not even 802.11a - the b/g range is poor in my house so this limits where I can put this. Sound quality is quite disappointing for JBL, I thought they were a good audio brand.

This is my third JBL ipod product and they sound great. This unit that works with AirPlay is amazing. This is the beginning of what will be some amazing devices using this technology. Negatives - alarm light at night is too bright. Does not work with phones or devices with covers. They should provides a connecting dongle, although you really only need to hook it up to charge.

Purchashed for my 10yr old daughter. She is very happy with it. As i paid only $160 for it I didnt expect to be blown away by the sound but it is certainly a very good product. Does it sound as good as a stereo system? No, but what does at this price and size?

This JBL unit is Verry nice got it on sale and great value at the price 281.20 total with a 29.99 clear bumper case for my iPhone 4 shipped! Sound if Verry room filling coming out that halo I love it many features. And my iphone 4 looks elegant docked on it.

Nice unit overall except that the unit reboots frequently when on Airplay. Plus, no way to have the clock display on continuously. So, in summary, great concept, poorly executed (I'm taking mine back for refund.)
