    Synopsis

    Juice
Cinematographer Ernest R. Dickerson directed and co-wrote this crime drama about a group of friends who get involved in a robbery. Bishop (Tupac Shakur), Q (Omar Epps), Raheem (Khalil Kain), and Steel (Jermaine Hopkins) are four Harlem friends who spend their days skipping school, getting in fights, and casually shoplifting. The only member of the group who has plans for the future is Q, who dreams of becoming a deejay. But one day Bishop happens to see James Cagney in White Heat and the film inspires him to buy a gun. His plan is to rob a corner store and split the money. Everyone goes along with the plan except for Q, who is competing that night in a deejay contest. At the club, Q is a rousing success, but he spies the stern faces of his friends through the cheering crowd and realizes that he has to go along with the robbery, which goes completely wrong. ~ Paul Brenner, Rovi

So, I have to start this by saying that Juice, as a movie, gets a 4-4.5 stars, but I have to bump it all the way to a 5 because of how good Paramount's 4K scan looks. Juice is a great, gritty urban crime thriller, offering a great look into life in a 90's New York burrow. Juice follows more in the thriller/noir vein than some of it's contemporary gangster films like Menace II Society. The cast is great, especially a young 2Pac, who is fantastic as a paranoia-filled youth that becomes increasingly unhinged as the movie progresses. Juice also has an incredible soundtrack featuring Eric B. & Rakim, EPMD, Big Daddy Kane, and Naughty by Nature, among others.

I've been waiting for a Blu-Ray release of this movie. I grew up to this movie and watching old VHS recordings gets worn out. Watching this excellent transfer was like watching the movie for the first time again. In addition, the bonus features have great retrospectives of the making, 90's Hip-Hop Music & Culture and best of all, a great vintage interview of 2pac and his co-stars. It feels like a time capsule of the 90s. The studio really did right by this 25th anniversary edition complete with a fantastic looking slipcover all for a low price. If you've ever enjoyed 2pac, 90s Hip-Hop or New York Culture, see this movie and enjoy the special features.

i read some reviews on here about the bluray and i have to disagree. the transfer looks good but still has alot of grain.its not a full remaster no way.sound is dissapointing gunshots are tinny sounding and music lacks fidelity.i knew something was up when it started i had to turn reciever up alot more than usual.i should have known when the price was like only 10.99.when older movies are remastered and color timing is adjusted and sound redone they usually gor for at least 19.99.im still happy i have this in my collection i was just hoping for a little more.cant go wrong at 10.99

As we all know this was Tupac’s first Film and in my opinion it’s a great movie it reminds me of my childhood and back when I was in high school and now the fact that all these years later they came out with the Blu-ray version makes it even better and the price was also great I must have for your collection.

Nice to see Paramount finally releasing catalog titles again. If you don't know this movie by now, it's a perfect slice of early 90's era NY. Amazing audio/visual quality. Haven't got to any of the extras yet, but no other release had anything so this is the best in that department. For $12 or so this is a must own for fans of rap, Tupac, hood movies, or those who like seeing different eras of NYC. Get it!

Pac was an incredible actor whose theatrical prowess was only overshadowed by his incredible musicality. Juice is a must-watch to see him in full form as an actor. DP-turned-director Ernest Dickerson does an incredible job as well. Additionally, this is a great release, especially as the first Blu-ray release of the film - inexpensive, great slipcover, and abundant special features.

"Juice" (1992) is both a classic Hip Hop film and a realistic story of self-destruction. This film features both Tupac Shakur and Omar Epps' break-out performances. Samuel L. Jackson appears here in one of his early supporting roles. "Juice" also features one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard in a motion picture. I don't want to give away spoilers, so I'll leave it at that.
