Annie (Rose Byrne) feels stuck in her 15-year relationship with Duncan (Chris O’Dowd), who obsessively runs a fan site dedicated to reclusive indie rocker Tucker Crowe (Ethan Hawke). Frustrated with Duncan, Annie posts a scathing review of Crowe's latest release to his site. She begins corresponding with Crowe himself after he reads her post and emails her. When he requests to meet her, both she and Duncan must confront the real man behind the pop culture icon that's hugely influenced their lives. Directed by Jesse Peretz and co-produced by Judd Apatow. Based on the novel by Nick Hornby.~Kaitlin Elise Miller
Juliet, Naked is...thoughtful. About parenthood and romantic relationships and taking risks. At times it's a little too slow and contemplative, perhaps, but it's a lovely movie overall, the sort I see myself going back to on a rainy day when I just want to watch some nice people with good chemistry fall in love.
We have not seen movies like these recently. Blockbusters are great and I enjoy them as much as the next person but this little, indy, independent films are really gems to be looking out for. Totally recommend it.
