Just Kids [CD]

Mat Kearney returns to his humble beginnings with Just Kids, infusing spoken word with catchy chorus as he did with his debut album Nothing Left To Lose. Much of Just Kids maintains his upbeat and reflective style, but his most striking songs take a deeper and more emotional approach. If you're unfamiliar with Mat, his sound is similar to Chris Martin of Coldplay, his songs usually have deep and universal meaning, and can be listened to in any mood. If you like any of his previous albums, this is a must buy. And I haven't heard of many people that don't like them!

It took me about two listens to really get into this one, but it may now be one of my favorites from Mat Kearney now.

Sometimes you listen to songs. On this album it feels more like you are listening to stories. I don't think it is musically his strongest move yet, but I still gotta say this is something I enjoy.

I love his style and the messages behind the songs. It was a great price and has been a frequent listen.
