Sound! What can I say about the animated DC universe with its regular releases of titles that include everything from Batman to the Justice League. I love watching these films on a 180" screen w/ full 7.1 surround as well as ButtKicker Transducers! I recently found myself being drawn in more nod more into animated stories as they finally have taken the leap from the days when the IUron Giant broke the "G" ratings barrier and we finally got PG and a story that's a hidden classic. Jump forward a decade plus and we now have an animated series that caters to adults with language and story lines that need not be designed around a child's pointer of view. I highly recommend anyone start buying these DC series as they get released! Why? Support. The more interest and the more support this Genre gets the more we get released in return. As to this particular film I loved it! Nothing like relaxing with some popcorn and enjoying some amazing work. I love the voice actors and tireless attention to detail..

When normal people start acting violent and claim that they saw monsters, Batman starts working the case only to be haunted by Deadman long enough to realize that normal detective work and even the might of the Justice League won't be enough. For those who love Constantine, he is recruited along with Zatana and Etrigan to discover the cause for these strange hallucinations. It was good to see the mystical part of the DC realm called in as a team. Even Swamp Thing is called in to help earth though he is a little less willing since he hates Constantine. For those who loved the Constantine TV show, he is even voiced by Matt Ryan, which adds great continuity for those fans as well. Some of these DC characters haven't been seen as more than bit characters in the Justice League cartoons to this point so this is great to see their return. Like the title says, this one is a little darker than the main series of movies, but still great fun for Justice League fans.

Well... here is something that sounded awesome. The Justice League vs. demons from Hades, or at least it sounded like that. The truth is that of the major members of the Justice League, only Batman has a major role. Superman and Wonder Woman are bit players with barely a minute of time for each of their roles. What this really is, is a vehicle for John Constantine, who is the main protagonist in this video, but he (at least as far as the dialogue goes) is not a member of the Justice League. I was certainly expecting more action and interplay with the Justice League and this video did not deliver. As far as the story line, there is a ton of wizardry action between Constantine and other users of magic, but there is too much of it instead of good story content. It was okay, but not worth more than the 3 stars I have rated it at. If you are going to buy this movie, wait until it is heavily discounted.

It is not an (R) rated film...

Though Justice League Dark has an (R) rating, it's more PG-13 (FV). For those who watch animated films and anime, the following are rated (R) or (TV-MA) films: Todd McFarlane's Spawn, Black Lagoon, Ninja Scroll and maybe Samurai Champloo (harsh language). DC animators are best in the "cartoon" category while Marvel reigns supreme on the big screen. DC wants to be gritty and edgy but needs to understand that most of their audience are underage and wishes to be entertained. Batman: The Killing Joke was also (R) rated due to suggestive scenes but was nothing more than a hyped PG-13 film. Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League (The Series) were excellent shows for television. DC needs to remember what made them popular. To parents, remember, these story writers and animators are not children. Monitor what your children watch....

As a person who normally is NOT a fan of R-rated movies, this one won me over very easily after downloading it from Amazon. The voice cast (including both Matt Ryan [John Constantine] AND Jeremy Davies [Richie Simpson] from the Constantine TV series in their roles) was fantastic to me. I will admit the plot at times could get a little bit off, but the action and dark magic more than make up for those little pieces. I'm very happy at how this movie came out and look forward to getting the Blu-Ray/DVD combo set along with the comic and figurine of John Constantine. This movie SHOULD be rated R because of the violence here. These are NOT characters for kids this time.

The movie isn't bad but doesn't quite live up to its potential... Matt Ryan and Jeremy Davies return from the Constantine series to reprise their roles as Constantine and Ritchie Simpson, and both are great, but some of the other voices are spotty. Animation is also a little uneven although there are some nice moments. The little comic that's included is alright, not a bad story but not the best, nice hardcover on it but it's very undersized for anyone who actually intends to read it. The little bonus figures for these animated DC movies used to be a nice addition but nowadays they charge a premium for 'em, bundle them with a comic, and charge even more. Not a bad package but ultimately overpriced and somewhat underwhelming.

DC Comics has released a lot of animated features over the last 10 years. Some have been amazing. Some have been not so amazing. I'm happy to say that Justice League Dark falls into the A+ category. Sporting a fantastic voice cast, stellar animation, and a solid thriller/suspense story, this movie does justice to these darker, more mystical characters of the DC Universe. I was most impressed with the return of Matt Ryan to voice the character of John Constantine. His work on the live action Constantine tv series was epic and this is a great encore to his legacy as the character. Definitely one of the Top 10, if not Top 5, DC Animated movies and is extremely fun for hardcore fans and new fans alike. Definitely worth the purchase!!

I really like the idea of a Justice League that confronts Supernatural threats I was introduced to new characters like Zatana,Etrigan, and Deadman. On this team are also familiar characters like The Swamp Thing,Batman, and Constantine. A battle happens and your just going to have to buy this DVD to find out who wins. In this animated adventure you get the origins of these new characters at least new to me. For those that are a fan of the DC animated movies I suggest you buy this DVD. Shout out to Best Buy I used my reward to buy this DVD. Buy this DVD so they can make more movies like this I'm already waiting for the next Justice League Dark Adventure. I purchased the Blu-ray +DVD +HD Combo
