Kicka__ 2
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was great to see the next Kick-A-- movie, it has all the special sites to keep you on end of your seat. The storyline continues from the first Kickass movie showing the cruel crime family trying to get Revenge for the loss of their father.

Rounds Out A Nice Double Feature
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoy this movie. The character development really continued well from the first movie. I mean, in Kick-A they basically changed the way the world works by introducing regular folks acting as super heroes. So you want to see how that grows. Rarely do you get to see those kinds of results. However, in Kick-A 2 we get just that. The nice thing is this movie doesn't try to replicate jokes from the first film. It does reference previous events though. I've only heard one person complain about this one, but by her own admission she's kinda critical. However, everybody in my house loves it. It has the same great feels and wit of the first and fits in great. Will there be a 3rd? Who knows. Do we need one? It's not necessary, this makes a nice conclusion to many of the storylines and makes you feel good about where it leaves you. The only bad part is when you do a review you can't use the actual movie title because in contains "inappropriate language"?

A Solid Sequel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This film is a good, but not great, follow up to 2010 original film. Seeing the fallout of KA's original outing and the rise of other masked crime fighters was an excellent place to go with the story. Aaron Taylor-Johnson does a fine job playing Dave Lizewski/KA, the Peter Parker-esque hero. Chloe Grace Moretz also is good as Hit-Girl, but Hit-Girl's role in the film suffers from being out of character from who Hit-Girl was portrayed in the first film, and then a predictable progression to an obvious outcome. There were also some very funny performances from Jim Carrey, Clark Duke, and Donald Faison. Christopher Mintz-Plasse's villainous turn never really was threatening, and never as strong a presence as Mark Strong was in the first film. Olga Kurkulina's Mother Russia though certainly was fitting as the evil enforcer. All in all, there is a lot to like about this film, but there are also a lot of flaws that keep it from any kind of greatness.

A sequel that matches the originality of the first
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first Kick-A was one of my favorite films of 2010 and though it was never the huge hit folks would like to assume it now was simply because it was a super hero flick, it garnered a strong enough following and was of high enough quality to garner a second installment. I, personally, have really been looking forward to this sequel and though I've never read the source material I'd at least be willing to bet that this continues to honor the tone of the comics if not copying the story lines exactly. What was so fresh and shocking about the first film was that it was able to so seamlessly weave together the tones of several different genres of film. In both the original and the sequel there is plenty of action, a fair amount drama and a dominant wave of comedy. Most importantly, just like the first film, Kick-A 2 knows what it wants to be and goes for it with no regards as to what others think or who might be offended by it.

KickAss 2
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After hearing all the negative comments about this movie I was hesitant to go to the Theater and watch this film. I enjoyed KickAss a lot so I dragged myself to go see KickAss 2....And I'm Glad I did! I'm sure everyone has their own reasons for disliking this movie but I thought it was Great. The characters are older and let me just say this..Hit Girl is AWESOME! She's my favorite character and KickAss has been working out!! He looks Great, too. I'm not a big Jim Carrey Fan but he did very well in this role. I'm not sure which KickAss movie I like better? But, I own the first one and I'm definitely going to own the second one. I can't wait for KickAss 3, The Final Installment to see where all this ends? As long as Hit Girl and KickAss stay alive it's all good.

A Very Good Sequel
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The original K-A (Best Buy won't let me mention the proper title as it is, apparently, inappropriate language) was a surprisingly enjoyable movie so I was very interested in the sequel. While K-A 2 was not as good as the original, it was still very enjoyable and well worth seeing. The absence of Nicolas Cage and his character were definitely noticeable, but the new characters did fill some of the void and the group of villains added the baddy factor as well as many of the comedic touches to keep things light while maintaining the action. Overall, I give it a solid four out of five stars.

Great follow-up to the first movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you were a fan of the first movie, you won't be disappointed by this movie. If you've read the graphic novel, there are some changes but the basic story line is still there. Jim Carrey delivers a fantastic performance as Stars and Stripes. The action and humor is weaved brilliantly throughout the film. The extra features were fine. There were the usual features such as deleted/extended scenes, breakdown on how a specific scene was produced/developed, some cast interviews, and commentary tracks. Not a movie I'd let kids see, but definitely a lot of fun for viewers okay with profanity, and violence.

Expands the characters well from the 1st movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Watching this movie (since I can't use the title in this review) brings back the joy of reading these characters in comic book form. They really do pop off the page to the screen so well in this second installment. The development of the characters and how they've grown is great. The Blu-Ray has such an amazing amount of extras I haven't even fully explored yet, but from what I've seen already, this is a great buy at a bargain price!
