For a shallow mount sub this one really hits hard. However I have gone through 8 of them now as the coils seem to burn up pretty easily but that's probably my fault for a few reasons which is why I'm giving it a 4 star rating.

They did not fit my 2011 Ford Mustang and this in spite of all indications here at Best Buy and elsewhere across the interwebs. They are built like a tank and from those that recommended them I have no doubt they would have sounded fantastico. I bought two of them for the door mounts in my Mustang. They are said to be "shallow mount" subs but the installer at Best Buy took one look and said "No way are these going to fit in your Mustang. And by the way, they will fry your stock amps." I trust his word and so I returned them today with a heavy heart. Gosh gee willies, I so looked forward to excellent bass from accoustic Jazz on these subs. I also bout Kicker 6 X 8 speakers for the front doors and rear deck on the same Mustang and they are superb! The ONLY reason I HAD to return these on the same day they were to be installed is that they did NOT fit the car after all. Given the fanastico sound coming from the aforementioned Kickers that are now installed above the stock Ford 8" subs, I can recommend these IF they fit your vehicle. The "poor" rating for "ease of use" is due entirely to their NOT fitting my Mustang. If I wanted to put these in one of those sub boxes (and I loath those things) I have no doubt they would please my ears but tax my eyes and trunk space, LOL!

I bought this for my husband a car audio enthusiast, he set it up in our truck and it sounds great and fits pretty much anywhere!!
