Need to make sure to get a dedicated amp to push it to get the most out of it

I had the VS12L32 to begin with and I upgraded the L3 to an L7 to facilitate higher power handling, and mounted it in this same box. (this is the same box that comes with the 11VS12L72) If you are going this route, you will need new mounting screws to accomodate the thicker frame on the L7. The stock socket head cap screws will be a little too short. The correct mounting screw size is M4-0.7 x 30mm. You will also need to lengthen the stock wiring inside the box by about 3 or 4 inches so you can make the parallel connection from the +/- posts of one voice coil to the other. Anyhow, having had the opportunity to explore both the L3 and L7 I believe with the L7 I have found the best subwoofer for my modest system. Pioneer x2600bt, Rockford Fosgate P165s Component, Kicker dx400.4, Kicker dx500.1, Kicker VS12L72..... This system Buh-umps in my Accord Coupe. I can rattle the car next to me and house windows easily if I so choose. 550 w/RMS into the L7 @ 2 ohms is plenty. Believe it. 44 years old - still rockin' and droppin' the bass now and then...lol...

I hooked up the sub to a ZX750.1 Kicker amp to begin with. It didn't sound as good as expected right out of the box. But I waited until the break in period and then I was blown away. The sub became less harsh and transitioned into a warm bump. I put it in a Chevy Venture with lots of room to move air, and in such a large cabin it still preformed very well. It is a little over priced but the longevity and durability will make up the difference. I've been happy so far and continue to astonish many people and continue to anger the neighbors.
