5Great game, bad controls
PostedwskaggsI have been very excited about this game since it was announced a while back. Kid Icarus for NES was one of my all time favorite games. I've only played it for a couple hours, but so far the gameplay is very entertaining. The only bad thing I can say about it right now is, it defintely requires an accessory called Circle Pad Pro to play it well. And right now, that item is exclusive to another retailer and is on backordered and will not be available until July. To aim in this game, you have to use the touch screen. So you run around and either using your finger (using your finger is much easier then using the stylus) or the stylus to aim, you then have to take your finger away from the touch screen and then hit the attack button. You have to be very quick because the monsters you are attacking are moving around as well. Also, your aiming control the camera movements. Very bad controls in my opinion. I don't have a Circle Pad Pro, but was told by a couple people that will fix the control issues I'm having. Personally think its a bad design to build a game that almost require an accessory to play it effectively. At first I was going to rate it a 4 because of the controls, but with the 3DS only having 1 control stick, it would be hard to design around that. Still having a blast with the game so rating it based on my its entertainment value.

5Must-Get 3DS game
Postedmkalv2This is currently among the 3DS's top titles. Kid Icarus fans have been waiting years for this, and the wait is over. Is the game worth it? Yes. Yes it is. I want to say this: for people avoiding the game because its Nintendo, and therefore lacks plot like Mario or Kirby, think again. One of the highlights of this game is that it feels more like a gamers game than most other Nintendo game. This game is closer to Final Fantasy than Donkey Kong. The cast is large, but thats fine since most of them are likeable. Pit, who by all rights should be annoying in his hyperactivity, is pretty endearing, and Palutena is more interesting than most stiff "Guardians" figures. The animation is some of the best on the 3DS currently. The various levels and dungeons will not fail to impress. Not only is the animation very good, but the level design is top notch. There aren't any boring levels here. The dialogue is another highlight. Its funny without being silly, and there are a TON of references to various Nintendo games that fans will have fun pointing out. Anyway, I totally recommend this game.

5A great game with some flaws at the surface
PostedRoboitoAMMember
This game is absolutely fantastic. Created by Sora Ltd. (led by Sakurai of Smash Bros. fame), KI:U is essentially a new Nintendo IP and a great revival of a long dormant series. Pit, the hero of the game, is an angel who cannot fly by himself. Despite this handicap, Pit is also the leader of the guard of Lady Palutena, the Goddess of Light. In typical gaming fashion, things go bad and Pit is determined to help slay the Underworld Forces to restore balance to the world. Surprisingly, for a Nintendo game, KI:U is fully voiced. The VA is superb (outside of one or two instances), and the dialogue and banter is refreshing. The game's difficulty operates on a slider scale from 0.0 to 9.0, with 0 being "effortless" (enemies practically fly away) and 9 being "intense" (the enemies WILL destroy you and you have low health). The controls are hard to grasp at first, but the first level does a good job of helping one get a feel for the control. Overall, a refreshing title from Sora Ltd. and Nintendo that absolutely deserves more sales.

5New wind in the wings of a classic game!
PostedTaiyouMember
After years of being out of sight and out of mind, Kid Icarus has been Uprisen with new wind under his wings! It's a fantastic new game, developed by the creator of Kirby and best known for the Smash Bros franchise. Uprising has an amazing mix of game play, story-line, unlockables, weapon crafting, online multiplayer, and AR cards support! You get a lot of value for your money, especially since straight out of the box you get some bonuses with the game. Each game includes AR cards, so you can experience the AR gameplay that sets the cards head to head. You also get a stand which can help to counter some of the issues people have with the control scheme. Overall, this game is truly worth your time and money!

4good game with a lot of meat to it.
Postedbuckxnit's a fun game with lots of different modes of play. the graphics and audio are very impressive, and the 3d effect is used very well. my biggest gripe comes from the controls. using the stylus/touch screen to aim sounds good on paper, and works very well, but after a level or two, i found my hands cramping. i assume a circle pad pro would help, but i do not have one as i refuse to support gamestop. the online battles are lag free and easy to set up, but i found myself getting pwned everytime. this could have been due to the other players having better weapons unlocked than me, or possibly they simply had mastered the control scheme.

4easy to pick up and have fun

fun game, great graphics, and great sound. The dialog through out the game is great and very funny. first off the first level in every stage which are stages that your flying through are perfect! think of starfox, but once you hit the ground level thats where things get ugly, after about 5 mins or so my hands were getting cramped and i needed to take a break, its very awkward to hold your 3ds while playing the ground controls level, you can tweak your controls settings but still its pretty annoying , besides that this game is amazing!

5Mind=BLOWN!!!
PostedCisco43123Member
25 years ago, Medusa was defeated on the NES. Now after 25 years the underworld army strikes again, and this time old Pit is back with some new tricks! Imagine a Starfox+Metroid+Zelda game together! The air battles feel like Starfox, and the battles feel like a combo of Metroid and Zelda, which will all add up to one AWESOME game! The Kid Icarus franchise has been away for a very long time, but this game was truly worth the 25 year wait! The controllers can be a little weird at first but once you get some practice you'll become a pro! overall Kid Icarus: Uprising Is a MUST HAVE game on the Nintendo 3DS!!!

4Good game, but the story chapters could be longer

I picked up this game for my 10 year old son, and he loved it. He was glued to the game for a few days, then played more sporadically until he finished it about a week after receiving it. Because of the nice sale price, I ended up getting another copy for my 12 year old, so they could play multiplayer mode. So far the game is still being played at our house and that is always a good way for me to tell if a game was a good purchase.
