The Perfect Dishwasher Made Perfectly
|Posted .Pros mentioned:Cleaning, Dishes, QuietCons mentioned:Door, NoiseOur new home came with a builder grade dishwasher with a stainless steel front, but everything else about it was poorly made. It was loud and within months, things just started breaking off inside. When the hinges broke and the door just flopped down, it was time to dispose of it. We've owned Kitchen Aid dishwashers before and we were always happy with them. After reading how this is the 2nd quietest in the world (only Miehle for $2500 is quieter) and after seeing how well designed this was, it was a no-brainer to get this unit. We've now had it a couple weeks, and we couldn't be happier. It isn't just quiet. It's almost inaudible when running. The shelves are adjustable in height and they slide so smoothly on their tracks. The third level rack is perfect for flat items, like lids and spatulas leaving more space for other things. But really, it's all about cleaning your dishes and to that end, this dishwasher does a fantastic job. The led on the door, glows blue when the dishwasher is washing, red when it's drying and white when it's finished. The stainless finish on the front door seems completely impervious to finger prints! Nice. I'd also like to give a shout out to the delivery and setup person. I've never had anyone install an appliance with such great care and consideration. He even cleaned the space before he installed the new machine and he took the time to walk us through how to use the machine. This is simply a terrific appliance and I highly highly recommend it.

Great dishwasher

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Cleaning, Design, DishesPurchased this because I was tired of having to hand wash my dishes after a full cycle in my old dishwasher provided by my apartment. Nothing was ever clean. Landlord wouldn’t provide me with a new one since “it wasn’t broken”. Best decision and best money spent. My dishes are sparkling clean. EVERY SINGLE TIME. The dishwasher itself is beautiful, can go with any kitchen. Love the 3rd rack. It was something I didn’t even know I needed until I had it. The touch display is so easy to use And I love that it’s hidden, makes it looks sleek. The quality is just amazing. KitchenAid isn’t just for mixers! Would recommend to anyone!

Great dishwasher for the price
|Posted .Had it for a few weeks now and it’s great! Lots of storage and extremely quiet (compared to our old one) sometimes I don’t know it’s on. Water usage is also much lower.

Buyer Beware/Stopped Working 22 Days After Install
Posted .Features
Quality1 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use1 out of 5I purchased this product on 11/29. It was installed on 12/6. On 12/28, water began to pool and not drain during use leaving standing water on floor of product. On 12/29: (1) I called Best Buy’s phone support who told me to go to the store to set up a replacement; and (2) I went to the store where a replacement was refused despite phone support instructing me to go to the store and despite a major malfunction 22 days after installation. Now, I am waiting for “repair” which, of course, should not be a thing for a defective unit that stopped working properly 22 days after installation (this obviously does not bode well for a product that should last 10+ years). A few other notes: 1. Best Buy’s/Pacific Sales’s customer service is pathetic. I got the runaround from phone support and in store who provided contradictory information, wasted most of my Sunday With their nonsense, and did not fix the problem. 2. I would never make another meaningful purchase from the Best Buy store in West Hollywood. They simply do not stand behind their products despite all the puffery in the store about their great customer service. 3. I have little doubt that a technician can “fix” my current problem given that machine is only 22 days old. The problem is that a major appliance which breaks in a major way after 22 days seems likely to be a lemon that will constantly break and come nowhere close to lasting the 10+ years this should last (just like if you got a lemon for a car). Best Buy’s only fixes for this were to: (a) keep getting the machine “fixed” (at my inconvenience); or (2) sign up for their very expensive service/extended warranty plan (which should not be necessary 22 days into ownership). The product is trash. The store is trash. And, the customer service is trash. But, sure, go ahead and buy from this store if you want to spend money on a product suffering a major problem 22 days after installation and a company that refuses to stand behind their product.

Delivery of Item - Incident
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use3 out of 5Purchased this item as out-of-box, along with Best-Buy 5 year protection. Best-Buy staff wrapped it with bubble wrap and loaded it on my pick-up. Unwrapping it at my residence while still on the pickup, I discovered a huge dent at the lower front, stainless steel panel (picture attached). I called Best-Buy to look at it, but they deferred it to Kitchen-aid. Contacted Kitchen-aid and they came to look at it. A new replacement panel will arrive soon. This process has taken nearly a month... I sure hope my 5 year protection plan is worth it.

In LOVE with this dishwasher
|Posted .Pros mentioned:Design, Dishes, QuietI upgraded to this kitchen aid dishwasher based on reviews online, consumer reports ratings, and the additional third rack and decibel rating. Let me tell you, this dishwasher is phenomenal. It’s whisper quiet (truly cannot hear it), the design acommodates both large loads and small loads of large items, and best of all, I can stop rinsing / washing my dishes before putting them in!!! I would recommend this to anyone and will definitely buying it again when I move next year... or maybe I’ll take this one with me? :)

Third service - dishes are filthy after washing
Posted .Features
Quality1 out of 5Value1 out of 5Ease of Use1 out of 5We’re on our third service call. Dishes come out filthy. There is no disposal in the unit, so food gets moved around and left behind. Would never buy another KA appliance, based on the quality and reliability of this unit.

Quiet and effective
|Posted .Pros mentioned:Cleaning, QuietThis dishwasher is extremely quiet. I have to listen carefully to hear it when it is running. It cleans dishes really well. It does have a manual filter, but is is easily removed and cleaned. The manual notes it only needs to be cleaned every few months at the most, depending on how dirty your dishes are and how many loads you run a week. See attached picture of manual.

Q: QuestionCan anyone please tell me what the different colors of the indicator lights mean during the cycle (red, green, blue)? What color is the light on the front panel when the cycle is complete?
Asked by Confused.
- A:Answer "Models with handles have an LED on the front right corner of the door panel that will glow blue for washing/rinsing, red for drying, and white for complete". See User Guide, Page 4, # 7 ".Follow the progress of your dishwasher" https://www.kitchenaid.com/content/dam/global/documents/201705/UserGuide-W11040100-RevA(ECO).pdf

Q: QuestionI have an opening which is only 34.25" high. Is the opening requirement truly 34.5"?
Asked by Darryl.
- A:Answer There is a high adjustment of 4 settings 34.5, 34.25, 34, 33.5"

Q: QuestionHow long are the wash cycles? If there's more than one, how long is the shortest? longest?
Asked by andy.
- A:Answer 15 minutes for rinse only 1 hour for Express wash 3 hours for the longest wash 2+ hours for the "normal" wash Oddly, the Express wash uses more energy than the Normal wash If you are interested in how Express cleans, I'd say it's comparable to Normal -- but again you pay more for the shorter cycle. Mostly we use Normal or Pro wash -- Pro figures out how long to run based on how dirty the dishes are. Typically it takes two and a half hours. But, the dishes ARE 99.9% DRY.
Answered by MarkCincinnati
Q: QuestionDid anyone had a problem with normal and express wash cycles? Mine only cleans if I use prowash cycle, otherwise, everything comes out dirty.
Asked by Ulkar.
- A:Answer Yes, I have the same issue. Normal wash does not clean as well as Pro Wash, even when I rinse my dishes before.
Answered by Leahjay
Q: QuestionCan the third rack that I hear so many people complaining about be removed?
Asked by Lizzie.
- A:Answer That’s kind of the trouble with reviews. People are always pointing out the negative. If you don’t like the third shelf buy a dishwasher without one. I love it. I would not want to take it out. Plus the middle rack goes up and down so you can lower it to have more room.
Answered by Lynn
Q: Questionis it really quite?
Asked by Shaggy.
- A:Answer Yes, I barely hear it running. I wasn't quite sure what the difference in decibels would really translate too, but the Bosch was very noisy from the first time I ran it. I wondered if there was something wrong with that unit because it was rated so high for noise. The Kitchen Aid is so quiet you have to look at the indicator light to see if it's still going. Hope that helps!

Q: QuestionMy white light comes on indicating cycle is done but we still hear a noise like a pump or something still on. Is this normal?
Asked by 5506.
- A:Answer 5506, on some models it is also normal to hear a humming noise after the cycle is complete. Some models are equipped with a fan, which will run for approximately 50 minutes after the "Clean" light has come on. This gives additional air movement to dry dishes, and remove heat. Hopefully, this information is beneficial to you. Thank you for your inquiry regarding our KitchenAid Appliances!

Q: QuestionDoes this model offer a half load, or top racks only wash option? I have a Kitchenaid dishwasher currently and love it's quite, however we are installing a second one and I need the half load option. Thank you
Asked by Nana7.
- A:Answer No, it doesn't have the half load option, but it has something much better: ProWash - Soil Sense. It auto detects the load size, soil amount and uses energy and water proportionally. Very economic. We don't worry about how many things we put inside
