Solid performance in (slightly) smaller size
|Posted .I use stand mixers primarily to make bread and cakes. Two of the biggest drawbacks to mixers are price and size. They are expensive, especially for those that haven't baked before and want to give it a go, and they take up a large amount of counter or cabinet space. And they're heavy. Kitchenaid makes a mini version, which I find too small, and the 5 quart version is too big. While this 4.5 QT model is by no means, “small” I think it’s the perfect size. It’s still heavy though. When comparing this model to the “full size” version, I don’t find the mixer itself much smaller, but the bowl is what gives it its smaller size. I found the color to be beautiful and a nice addition to my counter. While I don’t use it every day (maybe once every other week) I don’t mind looking at it on a daily basis. For those who have never used a stand mixer, ease of use and operation is dead simple (you just need to know what settings/attachments you need). You plug it in, flip the switch to tile the neck back, attach the attachment you need (i.e. whisk) and slide the power setting from 1-10 (slow stir to very fast mixing) and voila. When I make bread for my family, I typically make two small loaves from one batch of dough. I found the 4.5 QT bowl to be a perfect size. I used the “hook” attachment after getting my yeast going, put it on a slow stir and added my flour, etc. I found the performance to be up to par from what you would expect from the “larger” or “more premium” stand mixers. Bottom line, I don’t find a performance difference between this one and my larger 5 QT mixer (which didn’t have a tilt head). Honestly, the biggest difference between this one and the 5 QT is the bowl itself and how much you can fit inside. I found the motor to be smooth and responsive. The other big point to make, and I eluded to this earlier, is the price. While it still isn’t cheap, if you have ever wanted to upgrade your mixing skills/ability, the cheaper price point with the same performance, is worth trading off for a bigger mixing bowl. And don’t forget the extra accessories that you can purchase (or already have) that gives your stand more flexibility. There’s a vegetable spiraler, pasta maker, juicer and more. I personally don’t have those accessories, but you should take some comfort knowing they’re all compatible with the 4.5 QT version. At the end of the day, if you are interested in getting a stand mixer but have been put off by the size and price, this is a good model to get (especially when on sale) to take that leap and give it a go. They’re a lot of fun to use, and more versatile than you can imagine. Best of all, the performance is nearly identical to the larger versions. While it’s a smaller model it’s still too big to move back and forth from cabinet to countertop (in my opinion) but luckily it looks handsome on your counter (if you can spare the space).

High power mixer
|Posted .I love being in my kitchen - baking, cooking, and eating! I often find myself thinking about what to bake and researching new recipes to try. Yet, thinking about the long process and mess of baking can easily discourage me. For this reason, I was super excited to get this KitchenAid mixer! Before, I only had an old hand mixer which worked well but was getting worn out so I would either use the mixer or just mix by hand. This new mixer made baking so much easier and faster. The weight of the mixer was a little intimidating at first. Like any machine, it is critical to be careful and cautious when using it to avoid accidents. Getting started was simple as the manual was easy to read and follow. There are different accessories for different purposes and needs. The manual provides an overview and suggestions for choosing the best accessory. One feature that stood out to me about this new mixer was how it did not make excessively loud sounds when used, unlike my old mixer, which was incredibly noisy. Nonetheless, it has high power! I also liked how firm it is - the bowl does not shake or move while operating. Cleaning the machine and its accessories were easy. Most of the accessories are dishwasher safe, but some are not. Overall, I am super pleased with this product! It is modern and functional!

Great overall, arrived slightly damaged.
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I love this mixer. The only issue I have is that when I picked it up I noticed the box had some damage but didn’t seem as if it was bad. After careful inspection of it, it arrived with a chip off of the finish in the lower back portion. I wish I had noticed it sooner to be able to exchange it. I guess the good thing is that it still works perfectly.

You knead this!
|Posted .I have never previously owned one of these KitchenAid mixers, so I don't have something to compare it to, but in and of itself, I would give it a 9/10. When I first received it I noticed how heavy and sturdy it was. It is definitely great quality, with a very retro feel, and does not budge on your counter top unless you manually pick it up. It is pretty easy to figure out how to work it, and its buttons and levers are intuitive. You can opt to add different attachments but the ones that came with it are the Flat Beater, Wire whip and Dough Hook. This mixer is perfect for wet or dry ingredients. It makes baking or cooking so much easier. All you need to do is throw the ingredients together and let the machine stir it all together, there is no guess work. As far as the attachments, I made chocolate-chip cookies with the flat beater (I had to be quick before the kids got a whiff of the dough and tried to sabotage my review). The Flat Beater made making cookies a lot easier and the dough came out very consistent and delicious. There are 10 different speed levels to choose from. You can make anything from beating eggs, to bread, and pizza dough. The bowl is a great size and you can twist to lock in place so it does not move while mixing, a great feature considering the power of the machine. This will make even heavy dough/mixes a very painless process. I really liked how you can unlock and lock the motor head before mixing and keeping it in place. The Mixer itself is simple and easy to clean. They don't recommend putting it in the dishwasher (it would be impractical, anyway), so you want to hand-wash it only. Typically, I make Colombian buñuelos (cheese fritters) and I use my hands to mix the ingredients. However, this time I put it all in the KitchenAid mixer and it did all the hard work for me and they turned out even better! I would highly recommend this product if you like baking or making bread without kneading it yourself. I'm not much of a baker but adding this KitchenAid to my kitchen definitely makes it easier and more fun.

Powerful classic mixer
|Posted .We have used this mixer to make bread and cakes since we got it around 2 weeks back. It works very well and the outcomes have been good. It has relatively small footprint so does not take a lot of counter space in the kitchen. It has decent weight though, so keep that in mind. It has ten power/speed settings to choose from which covers pretty much all mixing needs. It comes with a plain stainless steel bowl and three attachments (flat head, whip head and dough hook). There are a number of other attachments available which can do much more than just mixing. We haven't tried any of them yet. At approximately $300, it is a bit pricey but the quality and versatility justify the price.

You Know You Want This
|Posted .As any baker will tell you, the one thing they want most in their kitchen, is a good mixer. I don't care who you are. If you've ever spent time in the kitchen, baking for a birthday, holiday, wedding, housewarming party..etc. You have already had that conversation with someone about wanting a professional style mixer. Heck And it probably or More than likely was KitchenAid Mixer, that you were referring to. Oh my God! I love this thing. I've had cheaper mixers and , believe me, you can and will notice the difference. The Mixer comes with 3 attachments in the box( Flat Beater, Wire Whip & Dough Hook) All of which are great starter Attachments. With these, you'll making pizza crust, donuts, cookies , cakes & pies in no time. And dough! Don't forget about the dough for those loaves of whatever your heart desires. It's a hefty 25 lbs. so be ready to find a permanent place for it. With that out of the way, it's time to get cookin'. It has a 4.5 quart mixing bowl, that locks into place so you can leave it and do other things while it mixes. I love how it has a slow start so you're not instantly splashing mix and liquids all of the kitchen. This is remarkable. It's part of the Classic series. So if you know anything about KitchenAid, then you know you've got a great , long lasting appliance on your hands. The tilt head makes for effortless mix and removal of your dough or batter. I don't even wanna get into how super easy it is to clean. getting into attachments. You already get the three. Then there are so many others you can get to enhance your culinary prowess. There's attachments for making noodles, ground meats( sausage) , shredders, slicers, grinders, spiralizers. Come on! There's so much you can do. However, the one thing that has held you back all these years, has been that price tag. Well this one is over $250. but wow, is it worth the money. You've always known it was worth money, but the new K45 series pretty much makes this a must have. If you're looking at this review, you already know you should have this in your shopping cart. If you must bake, you must buy. Go get it. And bon apatite.

Q: QuestionDear sir, We bought a kitchen aid voltage 120.i would like to convert it to 240 volts.which spare part should i change inside? Thanks beforehand
Asked by Goolam.
- A:Answer Hi Goolam, The 120 volt (U.S.) appliances are not compatible with 220/240 volt requirements of other countries (as well as vice versa). What many consumers are not aware of is the potential danger that differences in cycles/second can create. Where in the United States electricity is delivered at 60 Hertz (Hz), most other countries deliver the electricity at 50 Hz. Running 60 Hz appliances in a 50 Hz environment forces the motor in your appliance to run at a slower speed, and can potentially cause immediate motor or operational failure. Not only is this failure not covered by any manufacturer's warranty, but has been known to result in electrical shortages and/or fires. Additionally, KitchenAid does not recommend the use of a transformer for any KitchenAid countertop appliance. Doing so could cause damage to your appliance or the home electrical system, as noted above.
