Klipsch KMC 3 Review
Posted .Like many of you reading this I searched long and hard for reviews, Youtube videos, anything I could find out there. It wasn't until the speaker became available in stores (I could go listen# that I decided to take the plunge. - SO glad that I did. I will be honest and tell you I'm a bit of a Klipsch fan. I have a 7.2 setup of Klipsch quintets in one room. Main living room has a 7.1 Klipsch reference II series set. But, what I also wanted was to be able to take that quality of audio with me. Camping, backyard parties, fishing...I can't wait #getting cold here on the east coast, so it might be awhile.# After auditioning some of the major brands and better bluetooth speaker options #list below# I can say for certain, the KMC 3 is the best I've heard. Speakers I've listened to: Bose sound link 2 Bose sound link mini UE Boom UE mini boom Beats pill Beats Beatbox Sony srs-btx300 JBL Flip Jawbone Big Jambox Motorola Sol Republic X Jabra Solemate I've researched many others as well, a lot, and probably too much time has gone into finding what I wanted...bit obsessive maybe? For sure. BUT, Let me pass what I've learned onto you. What makes the KMC 3 Stand out from the crowd? 1) Its size - I actually wanted something a bit smaller, however, after listening to many speakers and knowing what would make an audio enthusiast content, I had to go for something a bit larger. Klipsch did a great job with the size of this #7.2" H x 17" W x 5.5" D). you get big sound in a relatively small package. They do in fact sell a smaller version of this speaker - KMC 1, and an ultra portable model coming soon - GIG. I've not heard them due to availability in stores. 2) APT-X Codec - I won't get into details, but if you have a capable bluetooth apt-x device, you will absolutely tell the difference in audio quality between those that do, and those that do not. It's a shame Bose is stubborn, and will probably never use this technology in their speakers. All bluetooth speakers should be using apt-x at this point. 3) Design - It's sleek, mature, classy. From soft finish to solid hefty feel, it oozes quality. 4) Sound Clarity - Again going back to apt-x. Every sound is extremely crisp. others without apt-x sound dull in comparison. I've even listened to music with a non apt-x source as well - iphones. The sound is still better on this speaker than other similarly priced ones. If you have an apt-x device such as many Samsung phones / tablets. I highly suggest a 3rd party music app called Neutron. You will hear audiophile sound coming from this speaker. It's truly an experience, so much so, you will want to listen to all of your favorites again. 5) Bass - Again, very clean at MORE than reasonable sound levels. I've read others say it can get a bit muddy when at extreme levels, but lets face it...anything this compact will. Let me tell you it's not even a concern. I have this thing sitting on top of a granite table, bar height...and it shakes the floor around it, well before any hint of sloppiness. You have to have the thing nearly maxed out, and be listening to something very bass heavy in order for it to get that way. 6) IR Remote - Important if the speaker is up, out of the way when home or you just need to turn it on remotely. I've also found an IR remote app that lets me turn the speaker on with my smart phone - Awesome. I clearly love this speaker, but if I were a perfectionist, Hmm. There are a couple things I would change. 1) Create an app to allow multiple speakers play simultaneously via bluetooth. Ultimate ears (Logitech) does this with the UE Boom speakers. It would be amazing to hear two of these things come together to create a wide stereo sound. 2) Allow "Heist" mode. This allows multiple devices to connect to the speaker at the same time - great for parties as those connected to the speaker can switch to music from their own devices instantly. Without the other person having to disconnect and they having to pair their device again. Motorola's Sol Republic X has this feature. 3) Water resistance / More ruggedized / Carrying case? This is something I was really wanting. I feel like Klipsh doesn't even need to change the speaker to do this. Maybe just provide an accessory case that makes you feel more comfortable about plopping your 400 dollar speaker on the grass, or at the beach, etc. As of now it has that pristine feeling that you want to swaddle it in a micro fleece blanket and never let it leave your sight. That could just be me though. : ) 4) Indicator light on front. The design I believe they were going for is to resemble an amphitheater. The housing starts smaller in the back and widens to the front. It's nice and sleek, but the speaker needs to be below eye level in order for you to see the lights / tell if it's on or off. Kind of nit picking here. These are all minor gripes to be fair and at the end of the day what many of us want is something that sounds great. Klipsch 100% delivers on that. You will not believe the sound emanating from this thing, neither will your friends and family. I would highly suggest this speaker to anyone looking for something in the 300-400 dollar range. That is a lot of money, but I urge you to go have a listen somewhere and compare others as well. From everything I've read, heard, compared, to now owning. It's sure to impress, and I have a feeling you'll come to the same conclusion - It's the best Bluetooth speaker right now.

Unbelievable Sound
|Posted .I did much comparison research with reviews on you tube. There are a lot of folks there that really put a lot of time and effort into the comparisons of most brands of Bluetooth portable speakers. So I listened contently to the many speakers compared. What I heard was pure crisp sound and mind blowing bass from this unit. Now my money is just as important to me as yours is to you. Is this speaker worth $400? I would say yes but I could not financially justify that expense. But as the deal of the day at $200 I was thrilled. I even saved an additional $30 and purchased an open box. There are many $100-$150 Bluetooth speakers out there that can not even come close to the sound of this unit. The only possible negative to this unit is the fact that it does not contain a rechargeable lithium ion battery pack. It does hold 8 D size batteries. I got around this little dilemma buy purchasing 8 rechargeable batteries and a charger putting the money I saved buying open box to good use. I can only hope you enjoy this unit as much as I do

Outstanding sound and quality
|Posted .Best sounding portable bluetooth I have found. I have compared this to Beats, Sony, and Bose systems - this Klipsch KMC3 Rocks! It uses 110V or (8) D batteries which is okay, but it would be perfect if it had it's own on-board rechargeable battery. I bought one for my son last Christmas....liked it so much I bought one for me.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!
Posted .Just bought this bad boy yesterday at my local Bestbuy and man does this thing absolutely ROCK!!! I'm a bit of an audiophile and I really do appreciate quality sound. This Klipsch sound system must be the most powerful PORTABLE BLUETOOTH SPEAKER on the market at the moment that has the option for batteries. The Bass on this system rivals the Bass of relatively larger sound systems with it's dedicated sub-woofer and digital amplification. The audio on this system sounds clean, deep, crisp and easily room filling. I traded up my Bose Sound Dock portable that I had previously owned for about two years for this sound system. In the time that I had the Bose sound dock portable I had to exchange it three times due to 1. Lithium Battery shorted out, 2. Ipod Connector stopped working and 3. the battery shorted out on me again. When the Bose was working it kept me pleased but it was not reliable and had to exchange it various times due to defects. Plus Bose does not provide Raw power with their wave guide technology and small drivers but it was portable and did sound decent. So I went into the store yesterday and used my extended warranty to get the credit for what I paid for the Bose and used it towards this beautiful and absolutely amazing sound system from Klipsch. I can honestly say that this system must be hard to beat with the history and quality that Klipsch is known for. I was also thinking about the Beats Boombox portable but this was just so much richer in sound and quality. Plus the reviews for the Beats Portable were not very good and everyone kept complaining about the wireless Bluetooth connectivity and it's unsteady connection. (I couldn't even get the Bluetooth to work on the demo in the store for the beats Portable boombox, I asked for help from the associates and they couldn't even get it to work). For this system I did plenty of research and comparisons online and in store with similar products but by far this system and the deal that bestbuy gave me was completely unbeatable. They also threw in a 50 dollar gift card for the purchase of this system and I used it to buy the rechargeable lithium ion batteries with the charging station from Energizer. I mainly use this system for outdoor events such as the Beach, the Pool, Home Audio system, Family and friend gatherings. This sound system will surely not disappoint and Best buy always has you covered!! Look no further and snag one of these for yourself, you will not be dissapointed.

Good for inside, not out
|Posted .I picked this up on the deal of the day because it was half priced and $200 for this brand is a pretty sweet deal. Unfortunately it didn't fit my needs and I returned it. I purchased this to be used in my back yard for pool parties over the summer but after one afternoon out back I realized that it didn't have the power I was looking for. It connected to my iPhone very quick and easy and had great range for the bluetooth. No matter how high I turned up the volume it just didn't seem to carry the sound outdoors well. I put it inside and it sounded fantastic. Like amazingly fantastic. But again, that's not what I purchased it for and I ended up returning it. If you're using this for a smaller house or garage, get it and don't think twice about it. If you're using this for garden or pool parties or backyard bbq's, stick with some $50 computer speakers as they seem to work better. One of my friends told me that the same speaker was found elsewhere online for $100 just a week later. Always keep an eye out for the deals!

Stop your search for a GREAT bluetooth speaker.
|Posted .Klipsch demonstrates their impeccable lineage and adaptability once again. If you want to hear AND feel the music, no matter what kind, this box does it. Not only does it sound great, it looks good too. I love it, and if you care about the way your music sounds, so will you. Forget the tinny sounding little pill boxes and unbalanced, overamped baby boomboxes out there. They don't come close.

The best portable bluetooth that I have found!
Posted .I tried them all from Bose sound link 2 Bose sound link mini UE Boom UE mini boom Beats pill Beats Portable Sony srs-btx300 JBL Flip Jawbone Big Jambox Motorola Sol Republic X Jabra Solemate and the winner is the Klipsch Music Center Series KMC 3! There was only one that topped it and that was the Marshall - Stanmore Bluetooth Speaker - Black, and the only reason it didn't win was because it couldn't take batteries and so it could only be plugged in, but boy did it crank out the juice! The Beats Portable was very close, it even sounded better, but I wanted the most volume and Bass, so the Klipsch won out! I started out with the Bose Mini and purchased two or three speakers at a time, yes it was expensive, but i took them back the very next day if it didn't make the cut. I loved the Bose Mini for my room and improving sound when watching a movie on the laptop, but I needed something to take to the pool and start a party. The Stanmore would have won if it would have taken batteries, also the Beats Portable's finish look to susceptible to scratches with it's nice shiny finish, but it's sound was definitely brighter than the Klipsch, it just didn't have as much bass or volume. I've added a nice new app, SonicMax Pro by BBE on my iPhone which seems to make a big difference! I hoped this helps, I felt that after all of the research i put in this week riding around looking for the perfect speaker, it would be a shame not to share the results. Sorry Bestbuy customer service, but if all of your demos had been working, I wouldn't have had to bring the speakers home and bring them back to you!

Excellent sound for a portable speaker
|Posted .I use this speaker for professional presentations and it works well in any size room. My audience comments on the great sound when I play music or videos. One recently asked, "How do you get so much sound out of that little box."

Q: QuestionAnything Better?I have long been looking for the best Portable speaker (disregarding size). I have tried out the following speakers: Beats - Beatbox Portable, Bose SoundLink lll, Harman Kardon Onyx and a few others that didn't even compare. This one was by far the best, better sound highs, lows, louder, crisper, battery life sadly it's still not the winner. My brother owns a speaker he bought over 8 years ago that is now discontinued but still beats even this speaker, in every category except battery life and highs. And that's the "Apple Hi-Fi Home Stereo" sadly it's iPod dock is useless, it's AUX connect still is used in todays tech. But I have searched high and low for a louder, better sounding speaker. Nothing. Does anybody know where to look? Please I will pay you.
