I purchased this humidifier as a way to add much needed humidity to my whole house - it has done the trick very nicely. It is very easy to set up and use. My only two minor complaints are it tends to be noisy and since it is in my living room, it can be distracting when you're trying to watch tv - the other is that when it runs out of water, it does not warn you that it has done so, it just keeps running and running. It does keep my 1200 square ft home very nicely at approximately 50% humidity.

This humidifier is claimed to work in a much larger house. My house is about 2200 square feet, single level, and this machine brings up the moisture to about 35-42% (external conditions are consistently about 112 degrees and approximately 9% humidity). Manual states that level should be between 40-60%. It does work, and is fairly easy to clean weekly. Anything higher than low makes it difficult to hear the television. I usually keep it on low all day, then switch to medium or high at night.

Overall I am very pleased with my purchase. The static electricity caused by the very dry air in my house was greatly reduced. During the winter months it was a very big problem. The automatic features of the machine make it very simple to operate. Adding more water is very easy and simple and usually lasts two days at the number 2 setting keeping the humidity at about 47% which is very comfortable. Although I was surprised at the size I was very pleased with the operation of this product. I will have it in use every winter when the dry indoor climate returns.
