      Made for Multiplayer

Very fun game. If you have played the original, the basic concept is the same: You start in a safe room with 3 other survivors and basic weapons, and try to make it to the safe room at the end of the level, pciking up more powerful weapons along the way. There are the basic zombies, which will come at you en mass, and then there are the special zombies. Special zombies have niche roles, all of which are aimed at either doing massive damage, or dragging you away from the group to kill you. While one person can kill endless amounts of basic zombies, special zombies often require teamwork to kill, so the players that runs ahead or falls behind the group will often die first. This means that teamwork and sticking together become a neccessity to beat the levels. The game starts off with 4 environments, in which there are 4 or 5 levels for each. The game itself is not that long and can easily be beaten in less than a day, but it is the replayability that makes the game so much fun. Since the number of zombies that spawn and their spawning location are always random, each level is a different experience each time you play. In addition, you can also play multiplayer mode, where the special zombies are actually other players trying to prevent you from finishing the level. As stated previously, this game is especially fun for the multiplayer experience and the replayability, if you do not have xbox live, and no one to play with locally, you might want to grab another title such as Dead Rising 2.

      Great game, intense!!!

This game isn't for everyone. The "mature" rating is quite appropriate with the level of carnage and graphic detail that goes into killing zombies. Everything from chopping off heads with machetes, attracting hoards with pipe bombs, and yes, using a chain saw to cut the zombies in two. Needless to say, I loved it. It was challenging and intense as a video game should be. Sometimes it became less fun as it became extremely difficult, but don't let that shy you away from the game. There are several different modes of play. Offline you can only play with 2 players per console which is a bummer. Online campaign mode however allows you to play with 4 persons under the main characters Nick, Coach, Rochelle, and Ellis. Valve did a great job on many elements of the game. Notably is the way the infected take damage. There are over 40 different ways the zombies can take damage, and each weapon has some special damage abilities. Valve also managed to lace in some humor to the game which provides some comedic relief to the chaos. Ellis has inappropriate stories which no one wants to hear, and well the sound of hitting zombies with a frying pan or guitar never gets old. Besides the campaign mode, there are several more online modes where you can play as the infected or humans which provide for even more fun game play. The best seems to be scavenge. This round based game has you take turns between the infected and humans. Humans score points by filling a generator with gas from gas cans scattered around the map. The infected try to keep the point total low. Who ever wins the most rounds claim the bragging rights. Overall, I would highly recommend this game. Valve tends to make great games (Orange Box anyone?) and this one is no exeption.

A good game but more of the same

When I first heard that the makers of half life were going to make a zombie game I was a bit skeptical at first. I played the first left 4 dead and thought it was a great and needed take on the zombie genre. 4 player co op in different situations was intense and fun. Not long after, however, a second was announced. It came out soon after and, in a way, it shows. Don't get me wrong. Im not going as far as to say that this is an unnecessary sequal. This game is still quite a bit of fun with a group of friends and if you haven't played the first game then this is definitely the one you should get. The new melee weapons are a nice fit for the game and fun to use. The new levels are pretty fun to play as well. Having played a lot of the first one with friends, however, we all agreed that it just wasn't as exciting as playing the first one. We played through all the levels and none of us felt the need to go back through and start again. It just felt a little bit like we were playing the same game. The new game modes didn't really interest us either. I still think this is a good game and worth playing with up to four people. If you don't have those people, however, I wouldn't waste full price on the game. You're AI teammates will test your patience. Make sure that your friends are the type to want to stay together and use teamwork or you will all die a lot and probably not find the game to be very enjoyable.

      Calling All Zombie Hunters...

Listen, guys. You, a few buddies, and a zombie apocalypse. What more needs to be said, eh? But seriously, with a fully-loaded arsenal of zombie slaying equipment and a few friends to help you smash skulls, you will be racing to catch your breath, running from safehouse to safehouse, and narrowly avoiding your own demise (hope you grabbed that med-pack...) until you somehow manage to escape the horde at the very last minute with but a few last headshots and a pipe bomb or two. Of course, if you'd rather just pummel your zombified opponents to the grave (again?), there is always the melee option (and one I'd strongly recommend - especially taking the ol' golf club to a few "baddies" like you're Tiger Woods or sumpthin'). Just watch out for Tanks! And WITCHES! Please, PLEASE don't disturb the witches! Unless you've got a death wish - or a buddy that's quick to lay down some heavy fire on your behalf. Otherwise, they'll dedicate the episode to you - our fallen survivor...

Left 4 Dead 2 takes the approach of if-it-ain’t-broke-don’t-fix-it. The gameplay is pretty much the same as Left 4 Dead, with a few added creatures and weapons to use to exterminate them. This time out, you take on (if you choose to play single-player offline) one of four new characters trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. Along the way you’ll encounter (of course) zombies, smokers, chargers and the dreaded witches. Like the original, you’ll come across loads of weapons both the shooty kind and the melee in order to dispatch anything that attacks you. The gameplay is simple. Point and shoot. Pretty straight forward. If you’re looking for plot, looks elsewhere. The only thing this game is concerned with is killing zombies. Lots and lots of zombies. This is the kind of game you play after a long, frustrating day at work and you just need to release some tension. Bottom line is – like most things in life – don’t take this game seriously; you are running around shooting zombies. Just sit back and enjoy it. There is online co-op play is that’s more you’re style and lots of downloadable content, namely extras “levels” to run through and, what else?, shoot some zombies.

Throw on your gear, grab your weapons, and stretch your muscles! The zombies are here and its up to you and your partners to stop 'em! As soon as this game starts your dropped in the middle of chaos. And, as you might have guessed, its an infinite amount of zombies constructing the chaos. Which leaves you only one option, blast your way through the town. But don't fret! You've got 3 partners to help you along the way, which you'll need against your fast-paced enemies. In single campaign, your partners can slow you down a bit, but in the online multiplayer, its a free-for-all shooting session. Please understand, online gaming is what games like this is made for. I've owned a XBox for a fairly short amount of time, but this game is at the top of my list as far as XBox games. I love the graphics, the sounds, the gameplay, and the setting. If ya dig apocalypse style games/movies like I do, definitely pick this game up. Highly highly recommended. *I've heard some people say that this game is just like the first Left 4 Dead. I can't vouch for that, but if you're a first time L4D'er (like me), don't hesitate in buying this game. Happy hunting!

      Moar brainz, moar epicness!

Yes, it's very similar to the original Left 4 Dead, and yes, the game-play is pretty much the same, but how much can you vary the sequel to a zombie game? Left 4 Dead 2 = Shoot the super-fast cross-country running zombies before they nom at your brain. With 4 hilariously stereotypical characters, a load of guns and melee weapons, and very creative maps. After you play through the game yourself, this is probably best if you have at least 1-3 other friends that own it. It's a great game to play with friends, because the replay value stays quite high with the amount of variety the AI director throws your way. Plus, it's a nice game to see which of your friends crack under the pressure of a zombie apocalypse. Go buy it. Make sure to grab your samurai sword and plenty of bullets, you'll need them.

      Great Game

Well worth the price. I pre-ordered the game a few days before it came out. I dont know what there is to complain about, very good product. I dont know what people are talking about when they say you have limited ammo for your pistols? It's all unlimited, the double pistols, and the desert eagle. If you don't want to use those you can use a guitar, machete, sword, police stick, cricket bat, or even a chainsaw. You have the ability to switch between pistols and melee weapons so don't listen to people who say you run out of ammo with your pistols because they have the choice to switch back and forth between weapons. The graphics are fine, much more blood and gore than the first game. I play it as much as COD: MW2 lol and that's ALOT. Great game, great price, great everything. :)
