Small laptop with lost of power
||Posted .I travel for work so the HP 15 laptop is great. If I were to improve this item, I would have the keyboard light up so I don't have to turn on the lights at night when I'm working. :-)

Pretty good first laptop for my teen
||Posted .My son wanted something that could do minecraft, skype, and browse the internet with good performance. For the price this is a bang for the buck. The AMD A8 processor with 6GB of ram is good enough for internet based gaming; actually we were able to play Titanfall on this thing in low detail with great performance, as well as other multimedia functions. Overall the build quality is very nice. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad laptop provided to me by my work. The trackpad on my work laptop absolutely sucks. Especially for a laptop that cost more than $2k. This budget laptop trackpad is probably the best trackpad I have ever used on a laptop! Overall I am very impressed and this was a steal at the price I paid for it! (sub $400).

Good and basic
||Posted .I needed something really basic to get me by for a few months before I was able to obtain my business laptop from my new job. This has fit the bill nicely. It is not fancy, but it does everything I need (word processing, internet, presentations, etc.). The battery life is sufficient (a couple hours - haven't timed it) and I like the large keyboard with the number pad. I also love how this laptop actually has a CD drive (becoming rare these days) and also has such a great diversity of ports (a couple USB, ethernet, SD card, HDMI, even a VGA - another rarity these days). The only negative thing I have noticed is sometimes the keys are a little iffy. You have to be sure to hit them all with enough force for them to register. It seems like when I use my normal typing weight/speed, some letters don't register. It can be pretty annoying. But I am just learning to hit all the letters with more force.

Great budget laptop
||Posted .I love this laptop. Great price, does everything I want it to do, and has some features that were not available on other similarly-priced laptops, such as the VGA input (which I use for work sometimes) and bluetooth capability. The fact that it also includes an optical drive to play CDs/DVDs really influenced me as well, since I have tons of DVDs and didn't want to settle for not being able to play them on my laptop. The speed is great, in my opinion. We have a 105 Mbps connection at home, and the internet is very fast on this laptop. I can have PhotoShop, Word, and Chrome open on five tabs all at once and not experience any lag or slowness. The kids have used it to play low-demand games (like on pbskids.org and similar) and not had any trouble, but I haven't used it for more demanding games. Also, the sound is TONS better than my previous laptop, but I don't have other current laptops to compare to--this one has much louder and clearer sound than what I had before (but the old laptop was OLD, like seven years old, and never had terribly good sound to begin with). The only thing I didn't initially like was that the edge of the laptop (under the touchpad, near your wrists) is a hard 90 degree angle, and if you do rest your wrists there at all, it's not pleasant. If you are ergonomically correct and keep your wrists up, it's not an issue, of course. Overall, I'm really pleased with this laptop and would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable option. I haven't dealt with getting iTunes set up on here, but I'll update this review when I do.

Q: Questionwhat is the Intel equivalent of the amd a8 (example 4th generation i3?)? also is it a quad core?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The A8 is equivalent to a 4th gen i3. The A8 gets a score of 6.3 on CPU Boss, while the i3 gets a 6.4. You won't really notice the difference unless you use benchmarking programs. The A8 is quad core, while the i3 is dual core. The i3 supports hyper-threading, the A8 does not.

Q: QuestionIt says it is loaded with Radeon R5 graphic chip.. That means it has 1gb graphic card or 2 GB graphic card?
Asked by Serah.
- A:Answer it is a 1gb chip but the gb doesnt mean how good the card is, the ghz or mhz refresh rate is how fast the graphics will run. I have had no problems with playing games such as battlefield 4 on low to medium graphics. if you are wondering about video editing i have had no problems with it lagging even when doing 1080p editing.

Q: QuestionIs this laptop ok to use with photoshop or lightroom if I'm just learning to use these photo edition programs? or will it be a waste of money? Most of people says I need at least an i5 processor but I have seen many students using basic laptops, I don't really know if an A8 would be that bad..I want something to learn and play with the editing software and later upgrade.
Asked by Low budget enthusiastic.
- A:Answer I think if you are a novice to photo editiong, this is a good start. The higher end programs will take significantly faster processors and ideally 1TB. Battery life is also something to consider. Editing can be time consuming and it would be terrible to have a battery die and not be where you can plug up and complete a project. For such a budget laptop, this is alot of bang for the buck. Do consider using a mobile mouse for big projects. You will get more done with less frustration. As I commented in my review, this laptop has sharp edges. It doesn't seem to bother everyone. And seeing the screen resolution and color array for yourself can help you decide. Make sure what you see is what you need. Chances are this will be just fine, and actually teach you how much of an upgrade you will need later. You may want to check one out in person if you can.
