Outstanding Ultrabook
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis ultra book is refurbished by Lenovo. You cannot detect a single difference with a new one, get the same warranty... The computer is really the best in its category: - Fast performance: I7, Boots in 5 sec, very snappy, USB3 ports - High quality display: (6Mpx) I use it for photo editing with a calibration XRite tool and get very accurate results with vibrant monitor colors. It drives multi monitors too with the Micro-HDMI port with the same color accuracy - The 2 in 1 configuration is the best for me: no keyboard to plug/unplug, Tent mode to watch movies, use Skype... - The sound is also amazing - The size is just right (easy to carry everywhere) while still having enough space to really "work" with applications, especially with the high definition display. Very difficult to find a computer competing with this one especially at this price!

UHD on a budget
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI did a great deal of research before picking up the model below this one, sadly no longer available from BB. i5 processor, 4gig RAM w/ 128 SSD. $829 out the door. Sadly apparently no longer available. That models new replacement from Lenovo Website is $1400 I believe, although a new cheaper model w/ UHD display is due out in a month or so. This models replacement is listed as shipping now, at a goggle-eyed $1800. The only other alternative to true 3800X1800 display is Samsung Ativ I believe, again another 4 or 5 hundred clams more. Apparently Lenovo got a bunch of these back, due to mainly 3 reasons listed below. Google up "Lenovo Community", navigate to the Yoga2 page and check it out. Hence most refurbs of Y2 Pros will be essentially new units- mine even smelled new OOB! Let me say up front that this in one heckuva screen, and as a serious nature photographer there is simply nothing like viewing hi-rez DSLR images on this machine. FINALLY, those pics appear as they are supposed to, and editing in Adobe Lightroom is an immensely pleasurable experience. 1:1 pixel mapping zooms show virtually no degradation, and small spot adjustments of sharpness, black levels, color etc can be judged with absolute certainty. Perhaps a 1920X1080 (HD) lesser resolution screen might accomplish the same, but why settle for less? So why the large numbers of machines returned, as well as some continuing dissatisfied owners? there are three issues you may need to address to fine tune the unit: 1) a skewed yellow color, more mustard or yellow-green. It is very noticeable on pics of Sponge Bob, or just look at the color "yellow" on Wikipedia. Lenovo has an acceptable (but not perfect) fix for this bug. Note that my refurb did NOT have these updates installed. I spent about 1 hr w/ tech support to install new bios and power management settings. if you are handy w/ these sorts of things you probably can download and install the patches yourself. Yellow is still not totally true to tone, but plenty good enough for me. 2) Flickering screen. Various power saving schemes, some a result of graphics card settings, others related to battery conservation will need to be disabled if you find your screen "flickering" or moving up and down in brightness due to minute variations in ambient light levels. Lenovo has simple instructions on their community webpage on how to disable these. This alleviated the issue on my unit. However some have had more serious, continuing problems even after changing these settings. 3) Poor WiFi connectivity. This may have to do w/ internal components or cheap antennae parts used. dowever Lenovo issued an auto patch soon after I got my Y2P that installed itself, and greatly improved range and speed. The track pad seems a bit wonky, overly sensitive or something. There is also a way to address this irritant but since I use a mouse this doesn't bother me too much. Note that if you use Bluetooth devices there is an additional power savings disconnect setting that will need to be disabled that has helped some connectivity problems for some users. If you opt for the cheaper iteration of the UHD Y2P, still available online, I would definitely look for an outlet that carries the full 1 yr coverage from the manufacturer. Otherwise just shell out a few extra bucks, pick this one up from BB. there really is no other deal quite like this one!

LIKE NEW
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThe laptop itself is amazing. I knew that before purchasing it, and there are plenty of reviews to be found on the actual product page. My main concern, and the reason I'm writing this review, was due to the product being refurbished. I received the box and found that it was refurbished by Lenovo and not Best Buy or a third party. This was great news as the manufacturer is generally your best bet. The laptop itself looks perfectly brand new. There were no dings or marks of any kind. I have been playing around with it for a few days now and putting it through some tests, and I'm relieved to say there are no problems whatsover. I was on the fence on buying a refurbished product because there are some horror stories out there. In my mind, I thought I would get something that looked used, and was ready to return it for a brand new one if necessary. Thankfully, I didn't have to do that and I saved a little bit of money. Hope this helps...

Great product for the price
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendIt is nice supercharged slim laptop. Screen is great, sound is amazing, performance wise it is one of the best machines on the market. Since it is refurbished, I worried about scratches, but when I got it, it looked as new. BIOS was already up to date (no yellow color issue at all), i just do windows updates and removed some bloatware. I have no wifi or bluetooth issues, screen is gorgeous without any color distortion on any side for up to at least 170 viewing angle. Power saving software from Lenovo is buggy and it dims screen way too much or keep battery from been charged 100% (battery should be re-calibrated all the time), but you need to use this soft if you want to get decent laptop life on battery. For sure Microsoft should work more on icons and windows scalability on such a large screen + soft keyboard is not scalable enough, but it is Windows problem which has nothing to do with hardware. laptop is nicely build and only complain about design is the wide black frame around the screen, in this case Lenovo could install 14" screen instead of 13", but it is all esthetical issue. Yoga 2 pro is so convenient, so I bringing it everywhere with me. Yes, sometimes I am afraid to break it by accident, it is because I purchase 3 years extended warranty with accidental damage protection from Lenovo. Summary: this is a great computer, but not for everybody. If you don't know much about computers, you will have a problem to configure it properly (Lenovo did not do it for you). To use this gorgeous screen you need to have sharp eyes as well and not too big fingers. And, sorry, Lenovo technical support team could be way more helpful and better organized. Hey, it is North America and we want to have a better support. Otherwise great machine. I am completely happy by my purchase. Note to BestBuy: If you are buying a product from BestBuy online on address, which contains street number with letters as "12A Main street", BestBuy cancels your order automatically. I tried to purchase this computer 3 times before I realized why it is happening to me.

Compact, light, and powerful
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI bought this laptop to replace my desktop for the time being. Generally, I like how the laptop performs. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: - It is light weight and easily transportable - It is powerful enough to run my basic programs like MS office 2007, Adobe Acrobat. - The design and feel is excellent. I love the thin profile and the tacky feel which makes me feel like I can have a good grip on the laptop when I move it around - The display is clear with the high resolution - Super fast boot up Cons: - The battery life is so so when you are heavily using the laptop (extra note: the laptop warns you not to keep it plugged in when the battery is at or above 70% while in use cause it will be a detriment to the battery) - The yellow color is not quite right. I hear there is a fix but I haven't tried it yet - The wifi drops randomly. I've tried workarounds and updates that have been recommended by Lenovo, but continue to face the same issue. Annoying, but I can actually live with it - Audio is not the best. If you love great sound for music, movies, or games, you will probably be disappointed Overall, I like the laptop so far. I also bought it for traveling so I can watch movies on the plane in tablet mode. I haven't tried that yet, so I don't know how it will be with keyboard exposed while in tablet mode. I also haven't added heavier programs that I use such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. I cannot speak to how it will perform with those types of programs. I really like the light weight but still powerful enough to replace laptop for now.

Great laptop. Provides great flexibility
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendBest computer purchase I've made in several years. I have a small business which i purchase computers for our staff for travel and for our office. So we are very dependent on our computers for our info management. This laptop has proven flexible for presentations, working in various positions, sitting standing, in the airport without support, anywhere it has been great. Performance has been excellent. We work with databases, online databases, spreadsheets, and various industry specific data management systems. Some are large files, computer handles working in several applications seemlessly moving from file to file, from application to application without bogging down awaiting data to down load. Great computer.

Excellent Powerful and Mobile Laptop
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI have been looking for a thin, but powerful laptop. The Yoga 2 Pro met 95% of what I wanted in a laptop for programming. Its really thin and has a powerful processor that last more than 5 hours of constant coding. The display is amazing and some of the features of Lenovo (e.g. face recogintion to unlock the screen) are very cool. I wont give it a five stars, because I would have like a 512GB SSD and 16GB memory. If in the future there is Yoga 3 Pro with these enhancements and a Bamboo pen... I'll be upgrading again for sure.

Lots of power, very portable
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendWith an i7 processor, a 13" touch screen, and weighing only about 3 lbs, this ultrabook is the best of all worlds. The Lenovo Yoga's unique design is very handy. Some people say they only ever use it in laptop mode, but I use it in tablet mode when I'm exercising on my recumbent bike, in tent mode when I'm watching a Netflix movie with a friend, and in laptop mode when I'm working. Windows 8 took some getting use to, but now I like it better. It connects instantly with our projector at work. Everything just works right, the first time. Awesome product!

Q: QuestionHow to get warranty serviceIf there is something wrong with the laptop during the warranty period, do I take it to a Best Buy store or do I have to mail it to Lenovo?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer We're an authorized service provider for most brands we carry, including Lenovo, so you can generally bring devices to your local Best Buy store for service and support. The warranty provided with refurbished items sometimes requires that repairs be sought through a specific party though, and this information would be outlined in the included owner's documentation.

Q: QuestionDoes docking to use full keyboard and larger monitor work?I heard about some issues with this machine - can you confirm it will work correctly with decent quality display on external monitor. I am interested in single larger monitor solution for those times where sitting at a desk with a large display is more comfortable.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer This is perfectly feasible with almost any laptop, and it is no less true for this machine. Your best bet would be to get some sort of unified receiver (like from Logitech) and then get whichever wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse you prefer. The laptop also has Bluetooth, which is another option if you can find Bluetooth keyboards or mouse. As for the display, there is a display port on the left side of the machine (not sure if it is mini or micro HDMI) that can be used to output the display to basically any TV or monitor with HDMI support. Lastly you can just plug in any speakers or headphones to the jack on the right.

Q: Questionany physical damage or it is all "clean"?

Q: QuestionThe OEM Accidental Damage Protection Warranty is available to all its computers at anytime after purchaseThe OEM Accidental Damage Protection Warranty is available to all its computers at anytime after purchase, Does this Best Buy Refurbished product qualify? I see that the model number new is 59386391 and refurbished 59RF0580. If so then ill buy it. And thank you.
Asked by Tri_cantW8.
- A:Answer This Ultrabook is coming directly from the Lenovo factory. There is no way to see that it is refurbished (apart an additional sticker stuck on the back) and the box that is not the "original one" but a brown Lenovo one. You get the same 1 year warranty and you can buy the same additional warranties available for the "non Refurbished" version.
