Wonderful product, 1 small issue
||Posted .I'm rating the Yoga 2 Pro 4 GB, but I traded it in for the 8 GB version. I loved this Yoga as soon as I opened the box. It felt and looked fabulous, loved the new backlit keyboard (new with this version), the flexibility of using it as laptop or tablet. It is just about perfect. The only issue that bothered me with the 4 GB version was how much of the advertised 128 GB storage was not available; once I got into it, I discovered only about 80 GB (80 out of 100 on C, 0 out of 4 on D; the rest of D, apparently, was hidden). I don't think it was bloatware. I had planned to use cloud or backup storage to supplement, but when Lenovo advertized a discount on the 8 GB RAM/256 GB storage Yoga 2 for only $150 more, I traded the small one for the bigger one. Using Windows 8.1 takes some getting used to (coming from a Windows Vista desktop) but gradually I am learning its advantages, and I actually like the tiles on the start screen. A really nice touch is 3 ways to log in -- password, picture with user-defined gestures and face (haven't tried that yet) plus a local log in if you don't want to connect to the internet. Have not yet tested battery life, but this one has the newest Intel chip which is supposed to help. All around, I am extremely pleased with the Yoga 2 Pro, can't wait to finish setting it up and really start using it for combo personal/business. I plan to use in tablet form to show inventory photos to customers and genealogy/photos to family, and in laptop form for document production.

Great screen, lightweight and fast, but many kinks
||Posted .This is an ultrabook that is highly portable with good battery life and an amazing screen. The one downside with the display is that many, many programs are not configured to scale for proper viewing, meaning the fonts are SUPER-tiny. You can fix this by changing the resolution of the screen, but then you are defeating the whole point of buying this type of screen. This issue is partly the fault of Microsoft and other software makers. Also, if you connect a second monitor, the size of icons, fonts and programs will be all wacky because most LCD monitors cannot display at the same super HD range as the Lenovo. There is a work-around for this, but it is not ideal. One thing that really STINKS about this computer is that the Bluetooth drivers are terrible. They drop out, and wouldn't allow me to install 2 out of 3 of my peripheral devices that work perfectly on other computers. There are many, many complaints on Lenovo website about this problem, but apparently Lenovo doesn't care. I was able to 'fix' this by uninstalling the Lenovo bluetooth driver and installing a generic driver.

expensive but you get what you pay for
||Posted .Bought this brand new , the 4k display is amazing first off, great color depth and clarity. Its better than my tv for sure. Its very fast, takes about 6 seconds to boot up from a full shutdown, no waiting around for windows to load. The battery lasts a very long time I dont even charge it every day. Now on to the reason youre wanting to buy this thing in the first place, the freaking sweet "yoganess" this thing bends every which way use it as a laptop, tablet, tent mode, stand mode it works great amd knows which way you've put the screen to maximize usability, touch screen works really well also. It cost alot but before I bought this l had purchased a 600$ laptop and sold it after a year because it was terrible, spending the $ on something good like this is worth it for sure plus the interest free financing makes it super easy if you cant drop a grand in cash, overall I would say buy it if you're a windows user the touch screen makes the new format so much easier to navigate, I love it oh yeah and forgot, It can connect with all your phones to upload photos amd contacts and everything else you've got on there

Amazing Ultrabook
Posted .I had the second gen Yoga 13. This one is SO much better. Aside from the specs differences that y'all can read about. A few things I noticed that changed with this one. It is much easier to open than the previous. The other was "boxier" so you had to almost pry it. The power button was moved but still not the easiest thing to turn on especially if you have big fingers. The trackpad doesnt pick up oil from your hands as easy anymore. You could easily tell that someone was using it because of all the oil on the keys and trackpad(maybe it was just me and my oily fingers) but you don't notice it on this one anymore. The resolution is a lot bigger but some apps look bad because of it. Seems the resolution is too big for the apps and screen size. I just use desktop though so that fixes the problem. I try and stay away from app mode or whatever its called. Those were the nit picky things I had with the previous one and they're all gone now so to me, the computer is perfect. Lastly, the only noticeable problem across all new yogas is the yellow color. Its not the normal yellow, its like a mustard yellow, best way to describe it. There is a fix coming to this in the next week or so according to a lenovo rep so by the time you read this, you wont have this problem.

Great machine for the price & very functional
||Posted .The Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro packs a lot of computing power in a little case. The 13.1 inch screen is what you would expect from that sized tablet/laptop. Lenovo has made a pretty thin, light-weight laptop that successfully duals as a tablet. The keyboard is sturdy and elegantly folds back around the screen when converting to a tablet. In tablet mode, the screen orientation automatically switches around depending on the angle of the screen. It is very easy to use in all four modes; tablet, laptop, tent, & presentation. Our kids particularly like playing the touch games in presentation mode. The SSD is great for a mobile machine that could potentially see a lot of bouncing around and it boots up quickly. Win 8 took a little getting used to. But, it suits this particular model much better than an Android-based OS. My wife and I both have one and have only noticed a couple drawbacks. In order to get an office suite, you have to either buy it separate (in the case of an in-store purchase) or have it added in as an "aftermarket" option. Also, there is not a 4G option on the tablet which would be important for folks who may need to be mobile but not necessarily always around Wi-fi hot spots. But, with USB 2 & 3, Wi-fi, & Bluetooth, there are many options to connect to external media for both storage and internet. Overall, this was a great purchase and my wife and I would recommend it to any of our friends.

$899 on sale for this beast?!
Posted .This will be short and sweet: I bought this beast on sale for $899. That is the same as the cost of the 64GB Surface Pro 2 without a keyboard. I mean MY GOD, it's almost like stealing. To buy comparable to this (there is nothing comparable to this), you will need to drop $1200 minimum. The yellow thing? Fixed through energy management. Wifi problems? I'm running at 60 mbps down from the moment I connected. What wifi problems? Think about this. I sold my Surface Pro 1 for $600 and this incredible upgrade was only $300 more! I can't buy a week's groceries for $300! Would be nice if they included an active digitizer but I rarely used the one with my Surface Pro anyway because I can type so much faster than I write. Anyway, they make plenty of good styli now with fine points if I ever need one. One last thing, i was worried how my database which fit my Surface Pro screen at 125% zoom would fit on this given the resolution? Good news is that cranked all the way up, the fit is exactly the same! Excellent! No tiny letters.

Everything I was looking for and better!
Posted .Looked for a long time for a laptop that weighed three pounds or less, had a 13 or 14 inch touch screen, and a 4th generation I5 for battery life. This had all that I wanted plus SSD and very solidly built. We've used it for two weeks and had a child under 5 playing with it for hours and it is working out beyond expectations. It starts instantly, Office365 loaded amazingly quickly and runs very well as do all the applications. I thought I wanted a "snap out" tablet/laptop model, but the 360 twist on the keyboard is really handy. In tablet mode it is still light enough to be comfortable to use, in laptop mode you can actually type with it in your lap, and the stand up kinds of alternatives turn out to be handy when looking at videos. I love the way Windows 8.1 synchs my accounts between my desktop and this laptop. This makes the 128 Gig SSD plenty of size for me since I have a terabyte on my desktop and this laptop quickly recognized my Homegroup and makes storing on to the desktop a no brainer.

I LOVE this laptop!!
Posted .I bought this laptop as soon as I saw it on sale this past weekend. I had been looking at this one and the 11s trying to decide which one to get, but went with the 2 Pro because of the backlit keyboard. I had read the reviews about the yellow issues, but thought I'd give it a try. I have noticed a difference in the colors, too. To me, it looks like all colors are bolder. The yellow doesn't stand out to me so much, but if I compare the colors on my Surface RT to this one, they all look a shade darker and bolder. To me, it's not a problem at all. If what I was trying to do depended upon colors being exact, like photo editing or something I could see it being more of a problem. My only complaint with the unit is the screen resolution. Others mentioned this as well. The screen is beautiful, but with the resolution set to the recommended setting, everything is so small! It's hard to touch the right place or read what's on the screen. Especially with older eyes! I have played with the resolution but haven't changed it and kept it there. I probably will, though. Now the good... the keyboard is wonderful!!! I love the look and the feel of the backlit keys. It took me a while to find out how to turn it on, but once I found it I fell in love with it. It feels really nice to the touch and is very responsive. The trackpad is slick which feels a little odd to me, but I still like it! The flexibility... oh, my! I love being able to switch it from laptop to tent to tablet to table views! I wondered if the keyboard being under there would affect my use of the tablet, but it doesn't. Not to me, anyway. The flexibility you have is wonderful. You can use it comfortably regardless of where you are. This puppy is fast!! It takes less than 10 seconds to boot to the sign in screen and programs load very quickly. Set up was a breeze. It took about 10 minutes and then I was on my way downloading apps and rearranging my icons on the metro start menu. (I love Windows 8.1 for this!) I use a lot of different devices from an Ipad to Kindle Fire to Surface RT to this. I do not regret my purchase in the least. I have already recommended it to my friends and even took it to work to show it off! Bottom line... it's fabulous and I'm loving it!
