My best movie steamer for my 4:3 aspect ratio TV.
Posted .I'm totally blown away at how practical this little stick has become. I love the rich color and big picture of my 36" Sony CRT (tube) TV. I was able to plug this stick into my HDMI to AV/RCA composite converter/adapter to run Amazon Instant Video and Hoopla.com streamed video through this stick PC to my 4:3 aspect ratio tube TV. Windows 10 allows me to select the best screen setting to get the picture to display proportionally and undistorted on my antiquated 4:3 aspect ratio tube TV. Microsoft Edge web browser on this device plays Amazon video better than my Roku 1. My short experience with my Apple TV 3 was a big let down because I could not find an HDMI to AV RCA composite converter/adapter the would display the Apple TV’s 16:9 aspect ratio picture on my 4:3 aspect ratio tube TV without scrunching and distorting the picture. I sold the my Apple TV 3 and I’m getting ready to sell my Roku 1 because this Lenovo - Ideacentre Stick 300, with my Logitech Wireless Touch Keyboard K400 Plus, is the only movie streaming device I will ever need on my TV.

Make you TV a PC!
Posted .I love it so far. First I bought Intel PC stick which worked for a month or two then I purchased this $50 cheaper but almost identical. It makes your TV a pc. Get the Lynec C120 keyboard/mouse from amazon for $15 (see pix) and you have a fully functioning PC! You might also want to get a USB hub with Ethernet port just so you get highest internet speed!

Great starter computer or dummy terminal
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis computer is very slim easy to use and easy to restore, this is a great computer for media steaming the elderly or even dummy terminals. Works great as a server terminal, advertisement monitor, or touch screen register. It works great for domain computers but this tech is not upgradable or repairable hardware wise, 4 core processor 64 bit 2 gigs of ram 32gigs hard drive space So the space is low and ram and hard drive but has a micro SD card port and easy to map network drives to the system. I have thus far bought 4 of these micro computers and have had no problems with any of them. This is not a limited version of Windows either it is a full OS meaning you can install almost any software

Great PC at a great price
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI've read some mixed reviews when I was making my purchase. I then decided to buy it and see for myself. I don't do gaming anymore. I just use the system for homework and streaming movies. Works great, took about 10 minutes to set up and boots up real fast. I store everything in dropbox so storage issues aren't a problem. The WiFi isn't that great and only has 1 usb slot. So I use a 7 port usb hub and a usb to ethernet adapter and my issues there stopped. I use a wireless keyboard and mouse and that works fine, plus I use a micro sd card for more storage space. Overall, I'm impressed.

Very capable considering its components.
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThe Lenovo Ideastick is a pretty cool little computer, all things considered, with even decent graphics, and all in a very small package and a small price. It's not good for heavy computing or gaming, but is more than adequate for surfing the web and basic, everyday tasks. I paired it with my Vizio 32-inch TV/monitor and the graphics displayed very well, with rich, saturated colors. I purchased a wireless keyboard/mouse to use with the computer and they work great. You can't beat it for the price. Yes, there are much more capable mini-computers on the market, but nearly all of them are much bigger and cost a lot more, and many of them are missing internal storage and operating systems. Good job, Lenovo. My only complaint is more with the OS and not with Lenovo, and deals with the security features. The computer is very portable, so I took it to a friend's house, connected it up, and tried to demo it but couldn't because it looked for the network at my house abd when it couldn't find it, it wouldn't accept my password, thus not letting me log into the computer. My advice? If you plan on using it as a mobile computer, don't use a password! Bottom line - I'm going to be using it to run a display at my church as part of an information kiosk. If you're looking for a basic computer and don't have much space, this will definitely work, although by the time you buy the keyboard, mouse, and monitor, it might be easier to get a tablet, if you want mobility.

1st gen of the product class, ripe for improvement
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis IdeaCentre Stick is a nice form factor to be able to add a PC to an existing monitor or a TV. Quite creative. But it does suffer from performance issues, and it isn't as compatible with (all) televisions as I had hoped. I like that the product has real Windows 10, is small, and is silent. It's a little sluggish after using a desktop computer, even if the desktop has some age to it. The disappointment for me, though, is that the display controls do not allow for overscan compensation on TVs. This compensation is critical to be able to use the Windows taskbar and to see 100% of the desktop. The product is OK if using on a monitor or TV with controls to disable overscan. It should be approached with caution if planning to use HDMI to an input on a TV set. Good for convenience of Windows, but for "creative" applications should also consider a Rasberry Pi.

Dumb TV just got Smart
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendWas looking for a easy way to add a usb to a perfect working old dumb TV, there are other options out there , but for 99$ ITS A FULL COMPUTER, added a bt mouse and keyboard, up and running in about 10 min. Found the setting for on screen keyboard and can pull up the keyboard on screen for the little searching I will do, so now just a mouse, added a 1 TB drive had laying around and boom life is good. I had to run another power cord but I was just able to Velcro everything to the back of the TV. added a 4 port usb splitter and stuck it to the backside of the tv. This is not a power house but like I said for my purpose it doing everything I wanted and more. TV 32 inch in bedroom.
Q: QuestionCan I install Microsoft Office on this?
Asked by Angel.
- A:Answer Yes, you can install any software compatible with Windows 10-32 bit OS, also you have access to all the apps on the Microsoft store, this is a full blown OS. Delete the old files and system files after the updates, I had 20G free after running all the updates, running the cleanup deleted another 6G worth of old installation flles, disable hibernation saves you another 1.4G and that leaves you with 20G free for software installs.

Asked by JoeH.
- A:Answer if Minecraft can Run on Windows10 then YES you can. this comes with Windows10 pre-installed. so its a PC just in a tiny formfactor. think of this PC stick as a smartphone with NO screen. also it means you can download Apps, music, movies from Microsoft store.

Q: QuestionI have installed this on two different HDMI ports (monitor and TV) and I can't get any sound. Anyone have any guesses or ideas on how I can get sound? Thanks!
Asked by Sound.
- A:Answer You can follow the link below to see some diagnostic tips to check your system. You should be able to get sound through your TV’s speakers, the Stick 300 does not have built in speakers. https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Desktops-and-all-in-ones/300-Series/300-01iby/solutions/HT104471

Q: QuestionWill this work if I plug this to one of HDMI port in smart TV? Also what is the native resolution this device can support. I have Sony XBR-X65850D which is a 4k.
Asked by Nash.
- A:Answer A few weeks back I bought two. It has a little HDMI cable extension in case the HDMI port on the TV is too close to the TV case/housing. It also requires you plug a USB power adapter into it. It won't power itself from the HDMI +5vdc...that's only 150mA I believe. But when I turned it on and switched the TV to the hdmi port it was connected to, I saw windows booting at 1080p. I don't know if it goes any higher becuase I didn't try it. Long and short I could use to watch YouTube in HD...
