Extremely happy
Posted .I work with Lenovo laptops daily. Bought this personal laptop for my wife with the B950 processor for $299 thinkng that it would be a basic laptop for that price (Lenovo B570 Laptop / Intel Pentium dual-core processor B950 / 15.6" Display / 3GB DDR3 Memory / Fingerprint Reader / HDMI / 320GB Hard Drive). Laptop is excellent ( quality, performance -on Microsoft index scored 4.9 !!!). For myself bought a DELL for a hundred more which I ended up returning to BB as although it was vey nice had below average battery and keyboard was impossible for me to see in low light. So I also bought this Lenovo with the i3 second generation processor for $379.99 as we have been testing the other one for a while now and we knew that it was simply excellent. Laptops are exactly the same except for the processor. . Tonight I put them side by side and checked the Microsoft Index for the i3-2330M one and it was 4.7 !!! Solid construction, nice speakers, very fast (both processors), this one comes with 4GB memory ( the other one was with 3GB but I had a spare 2B so now it has 4GB also). Zero complaints, actually I would had expected a price at around $600 for either one. Excellent keyboard, keypad, very bright screen, an OK webcam (0.3), HDMI, god battery, keyboard keys can be seen in low light ( this was a must for me), never gets hot, extremelly happy that I got them both. Hard to find in a store. Lenovo service for me in the past has been excellent ( had a G560 and the adapter died and within a few days had a new one delivered). Of course, I do not know how long they will last with no issues but Lenovo has been a qualty laptop company - I try to by cheap laptos as technology changes so fast and we all know that they do nto last like desktops ( and repairs are expensive)..

Wow!!!!
Posted .This is terrific laptop computer and value Set up was fast and easy. The 2nd generation Intel i-3 2.2 ghz series 2330-m processor is fast and battery life has between 4-5 hrs, even on high performance settings. Fan is quiet and under heavy loads the case temperature only sets slightly warm, which is excellent. The keyboard and multi-gesture touch pad are great, easy to use and the textured case and keyboard area hide fingerprints. The build quality was a very pleasant surprise and there are lots of connectivity options, including (4) USB and (1) HDMI ports. The wireless works well and sees more available internet connections than my older laptop. If there is a soft spot, it would be the built in Intel graphics engine, which in the Windows Performance Experience scored 4.8, while all of the other performance metrics (processor, memory, disk drive performance) scored 5.9 to 6.7 (excellent, based on a scale of 1-7.9). Initially the LED screen appeared slightly washed out but after making a few adjustments (e.g. brightness, contrast and gamma in the Graphics control panel enhancement area) the image quality/color was a good as viewed on a HD external monitor. . I believe the B in B570 indicates that Lenovo targeted this series for small business users. Some nice added value utilities bear this out, for example: RapidBoot technology (starts Windows 7much faster than faster than a typical PC). An easy-to-use OneKey Rescue (took 10 minutes to set up which detects viruses and, in the event of a crash, recovers and restores valuable data with just a press of a button) A Security Suite (e.g. includes an encrypted private storage area, password management, biometric fingerprint authentication, and USB port locker to prevent unauthorized access to data ports). Additional energy-saving technology to stretch your battery life and long-term durability). Came with a mininum of bloat-ware (only had the delete the BestBuy application and McaFee trail programs). Overall, for a reasonable price, an awesome computer.

Solid laptop. Great performance and features
Posted .Picked up one of these laptops for 379.99 while they were still in stock. Can't believe how much performance I was able to get for this price. While I was in the store, I was drawn to several things. At this price, it offers spectacular performance, durability, and features. Typically, most laptops at this price come with a dismal pentium processor, are made of a very cheap plastic (check out most HP's and Dell's, they feel like they will crack at any moment and the hinge does not look secure), and lack and HDMI port. I am not sure how Best Buy can sell this at 379.99 and not lose any money (I guess that's why they are sold out everywhere now, difficult to order this online). Performance: Very snappy, fast processor, lots of ram, and very little bloatware. i3 is probably more processing power than what most basic users will need, but it will still be relevant in a few years. Good for multitasking and handling HD content. Screen: Very bright and easy on my eyes. I love surfing the web and watching Netflix on this. Keyboard: Love the way it feels. Almost no flex underneath the keyboard when you type. Check out a similarly priced HP or Dell, they bend under very little pressure. Build Quality: Again, the plastic is very rugged and very durable. Almost no flex and looks like it can take quite a bit of abuse. Brand: I have owned several Thinkpad laptops before and they are a joy to use. Not very many people have heard of Lenovo, but that should not deter them away. They are known for making quality products. Again, 379.99 is a steal for this laptop considering all that you get. Great performance, great durability, and lots of ports.

Very pleased
Posted .Bought this laptop last weekend, during the 2 day sale for $379, given the specifications (e.g. Intel dual i3, 4GB memory, DVD, (4) USB, HDMI etc.). I'm computer savy/experienced and after a week of putting it through the paces I am very pleased. Solid build quality, excellent performance (actually, the Windows Experience Index scores are much higher than a laptop I bought last year at 2X the price), wonderful keyboard and touchpad and lots connectivity options (including a combination USB/eSata port, HDMI to connect to my home theater to WiFi stream movies etc.)). Came with a mininum of bloatware, that was easy to uninstall, and some useful Lenovo utilities (additional power management, one key rescue etc.).. Battery life was quite good as well.

Excellent Laptop
Posted .Was able to pick this laptop up the other day and am loving it so far. Battery life is 5-6 hours with moderate use -- which is more than I expected. They have essentially the same model w/ the exception of a 500gb hard drive for $500-600 out on the net. Definitely worth the trade-off in my opinion. One of the more overlooked features of a laptop is the touchpad--I love the touchpad on this machine--big with REAL buttons to click. It has a 'zoom' feature (I'm coming from Windows XP so this might be standard on all Windows 7 laptops) that took getting used to--but now that I have I absolutely love it. The screen is super-bright and looks great--and for a 'big' laptop this machine feels fairly light. If I was being very picky the only thing I miss from my old laptop is that I don't have a dedicated 'mute' button and it would be nice to have Bluetooth built in -- but I'll survive and a Bluetooth dongle is an easy fix on that. Bottom line is I would buy this laptop again most definitely if I had the choice. This machine performs as good or better than Macs I've seen that literally cost 4 times as much.

Great laptop for the price
Posted .My main use for the laptop is a little mix of personal and business use. I use it mainly for web surfing (multiple tabs), outlook, microsoft office, listening to music, and an occasional burning of a CD. The i3 processor in this laptop is faster compared to a lot of the others. There are sites (notebookcheck.net) that compare all the processors, and not all i3's are created equal. This was rated in the 6500 range while others offered were rated in the 5000's. For comparison a top of the line i7 is rated 27000 and the Intel Atom is rated 537. The higher the better. I had it out of the box, setup the fingerprint scanner, facial recognition and running in less than 30 minutes. What I absolutely love is there is barely any bloatware installed (all the extra programs pre-installed that you don't use). The laptop keys are spaced a little too wide apart but you get used to it. The screen is great, very bright, but the bezel is glossy so you do get some glare. If they would have made the bezel in a matte finish like the rest of the laptop it would have been a lot better. Also, when you close the screen there is NO lock function. The screen doesn't lock like other laptops. Lastly, the speakers are pretty terrible on it. Lenovo's are known more for a business laptop so it makes sense but if you like to listen music the speakers are not that great. Very generic sound. For $379, an i3 processor, 4gb of ram, 15.6" screen, fingerprint scanner, facial recognition, you can't go wrong. Great laptop.

Excellent Computer
Posted .What is amazing about this laptop is the price - performance comparison. Of course there are better laptops than this one in 500-550$ price range but for 406$ (after tax) is just unrivaled. The only downside I have discovered so far is the display quality. I've used a Sony in the last two years which had an amazing display quality with perfect contrast for my sensitive eyes. The contrast of the screen is not tuned as good in this laptop. The exterior is definitely high quality and it gives you the feeling of a very solid case. Yet, again as opposed to my older Sony it's exterior design is inferior. My Sony had a slight slope on the keyboard area which facilitated typing. I am a liberal arts doctoral student, so I write a lot - that's what I primarily use my laptops for. Therefore I am a little troubled with that issue on this Lenovo. Also the edges of the laptop case is sharp so you have to be careful not to hurt yourself until you get used to that sharpness feeling on your wrists. All in all, if you need a laptop to use Office and connect internet this is a cheap laptop with very good performance. I also listen to music a lot and the speakers are very loud. My Sony's speakers were terrible, so this one is incomparably better. For a 15.6 laptop it is not terribly heavy, and I would say that it has a reasonable weight for such a heavy looking laptop but it is definitely not for travelling.

Great laptop for the money
Posted .Overall, it's a great laptop. Only negatives I noticed for me are: 1. I can't find a mute button for the volume. I have to reduce the volume all the way down to mute 2. More convenient if there were dedicated volume buttons vs. having to push Function + the arrow key 3. the touchpad is off to the left (or centered with the spacebar). My left hand touches the pad at times while typing, or while moving the mouse with the right finger. This throws off the cursor or mouse. I like the security provided with the laptop i.e. fingerprint, face verification, and USB password needed (port locker). I also like the one touch recovery feature. You can reset the whole laptop back to original specs via a touch of a button. No need for reinstallation/recovery discs. You can also back up the laptop using this feature Great price for 2nd generation i3 if you're not looking for a laptop with a dedicated graphics card. Only has 320gb vs. 500 but not an issue for me.
