Very good price for Lenevo!
Posted .If what you see in specs is what you want......Get it!! you will not find a better priced Lenovo laptop anywhere right now. Don't be discouraged if you see it on back-order. I ordered my online on 3/7 and got it on 3/11 even though it shows that it will be shipped in 1-2 weeks, I got it in 4 days. Don't expect it to be a shiny looker, it's made from sturdy plastic with horizontal grooved lines all around the case except around the display , which I like because you won't see much of finger prints like those nice and glossy laptops out there. So I can say it's made to be tougher than you everyday laptop. I agree with the other reviewer, it could have had more RAM but for the beginning it's just enough. Since it has 64-bit Windows it will definitely take more than 3GB of RAM in the future not like the 32-bit Windows which will only read 3GB even though you have put in 4GB, in case somebody did not know this. I can't say anything about battery life, because I just got the laptop and have not tested it yet without power, but on the other hand I can't see it any better than any other 15.6" display laptops out there. It has a face recognition program for log-in and finger print as well. I haven't had a chance to use the " Veriface" but it looks interesting, something new for me. Over all very good laptop for everyday use and more.

2 GB RAM
Posted .I needed a simple computer. I was willing to pay only up to $400 with tax. So, $399 laptops were a little bit expensive. I was looking at walmart and radioshack website. I thought Why not look at bestbuy website. I was searching and I found 2 computers for suitable price. One was Toshiba with 3 GB RAM, 320 GB hard drive, AMD E series processor. Another was this Lenovo. This laptop has only 2 GB RAM but dual core processor. It has webam too. That Toshiba didn't have webcam and it had 1 core processor. For only $30 more I can get a dual core laptop. I was stucked between these two. Lenovo brand is more reliable than Toshiba but Toshiba had more RAM. Hard drive was same. OK ! Lets buy Lenovo first and if there is any problem I will return it and buy that Toshiba. After thinking for a long time, I bought this laptop. Got it after 1 week. Opened the box. Setup took only 15 minutes. I was on internet within half hour. Keyboard is very nice. It has Realtek speaker. I didn't know anything about Realtek before purchasing this computer. Now I know about Realtek. Its lot better than Altec Lansing. Its like Harmon Kardon speakers. Sound has awesome triple bass with sub woofer. Its like listening from a speaker. Display is like other laptops. P6200 processor is very cool and quiet. Touchpad is not like those HP computer which is very hard to press and sometimes doesn't work. It has amazing touchpad. When I was using internet, I found out that I was using 35 % CPU and 1.40 GB Ram. I was afraid that its will reach 2 GB. Its only 0.60 GB away from it. I wasn't thinking about upgrading the RAM but I had to. Not now but after 1 years. A little bit multitasking will reach 2 GB. Buyers aware. Anyway, pretty decent computer for the price. It doesn't feel cheap. Fingerprints shows. Oh I forgot to talk about the battery life. Its a little bit low. It has 15.6 inch big screen. This is the major factor of low battery life. If you use in highest brightness, and on high performance battery mode it will give like 1 and half hour. But on normal settings like 2 hour 30 minutes. Which is OK! At last after having it for 2 days I made a conclusion that a laptop with 2 GB Ram and dual core processor is better than a laptop with 3 GB Ram and single core processor. Overall a nice laptop for the price. No problem !

Too Edgy - Not Sleek
Posted .Leonvo B560 is the most basic laptop one uses for daily use. Nothing fancy - the look is edgy- not sleek. Since the processor and RAM are of the correct combination - its a juicy buy.....After using it for a week - I have only complain that the windows crashed on the 2nd day with no new additional software installed. But I guess - it happens........With Lenovo - battery is decent 3-4 hrs and the frame work is well built. Features provided helped me decide to buy 2 of them at one go....I hope its worth my choice. Moreover, Lenovo support is something I am not aware of.

log in freeze up? read this first!
Posted .I purchased this laptop to replace a Toshiba Satellite that gave me many good years. I was a little wary based on some reviews that claimed that it can freeze on startup between the Microsoft splash and log in screens, but for the price, I decided to give it a shot. It ran well for the first month, then I started to get the freeze (past the 14 day return). I had noticed early on that the Variface software was glitchy, so I uninstalled it and have not had issues since. The software is supposed to come up so that you can leave a message for a user or use your face to log in. The issue is that the software would freeze before the log in screen came up, effectively locking you out. It is really just bloatware and there is redundancy in the fingerprint reader anyway. THE GOOD: Pentium Dual Core processor with a high benchmark rating (for the price range). Don't expect i5 power, but this is the little processor that could. The price is amazing for what you get packed in this guy. Programs and web load quickly and consistently. THE BAD: Interface is goofy, the fingerprint reader is glitchy sometimes, the Fn and Ctrl keys are swapped and the touchpad can be stiff and is not dual touch compatible. The speakers are weak and volume can only be adjusted once Windows is fully loaded with Fn + arrow keys. This was awkward when starting up during a meeting. No HDMI, I would have traded the fingerprint reader for a HDMI port. The camera is 0.3 mgp. That is too low for decent Skyping. Final thoughts: If you are looking for a good Business computer at a low price this is for you. Not the best choice for Gaming/multimedia platform.

Ehh..
Posted .I bought this laptop 10 days ago. Today I had to return the original one I bought for a different one because right from the start the original one was running slow, freezing on startup, programs weren't responding, the fingerprint reader was only working half the time, and saved microsoft office programs were popping up with errors. So I obviously took it back within my 14 day warranty and got the same model, but different one. So far with this new one, it's running much MUCH better! It's much faster, no issues with programs not responding, loads to the desktop much quicker, no issues with the fingerprint reader and microsoft office runs great! I'm hoping it stays that way!

Glad I Bought It
Posted .This is an excellent laptop for the price. I don't mind that it only came with 2gbRAM- Because it was so inexpensive I'm ok with upgrading if needed. I use it mostly for internet, movies, photo viewing, etc. along with some light duty video editing and CAD drawing- with no problems to speak of. Battery life is a bit short- tweaking power settings helps to extend it a bit. I have no need for the included security features but played around with them and they seemed to work. Fingerprint reader was somewhat touchy. Overall a great deal for the money.

Ok laptop for everyday use.
Posted .I bought this laptop when it was on sale for $350, however after playing with it for a week and a half I ended up returning it for a laptop with smaller screen (vs. the 15.6 inch screen size) and smaller width compared to the extra width on the Lenovo due to the separate numeric pad. I exchanged it for the $350 Gateway NV44 due to its smaller size and included HDMI. This review is based strictly on the week and a half I used this Lenovo. Overall this is an OK laptop for everyday use. However I would suggest upgrading the memory to at least 4GB. Overall build was OK, but felt cheap in certain area such as the center area between the touch pad button and the touch pad. The Veriface and fingerprint reader are fine. One thing I though was cool about the Veriface application was that you can use it to “password” protect individual files. If this same spec Lenovo had a smaller screen and an HDMI I would have certainly kept it.

Very good laptop, But... (in depth review)
Posted .(read whats great and whats not so great for a quick review ) Hey! Okay, this is a very good laptop a decnt webcam, micrphone, and a scroll bar thing on the mousepad and a thumb print reader, for all 350 bucks? with 2 gb ram and 320 gb drive? SCORE! The basics This laptop meets price with beauty, i run wizard 101, lord of the rings online, and minecraft, and a game building program on it, not at the same time though. And also to get best performance youll have to run any even all games at medium to low settings.... i knw :\. its the dual core processor that makes it a really low grade gaming laptop.i love the little thing on the side of the mousepad (a whitebar) that allows you to scroll pages like a wheel in a reg. mouse, thats a real plus for me. as well with the keyboard very fluent and great to use, though theres no mute all button >.< presentation Its unique little imprinting o the lines is a very nice new texture on a laptop that just instead has a flat surface, but its a bother to clean when foods or something gets stuck in it... the only glossy thing is surronding the screen and the lenovo plaque on the cover, i like it because there located in places that your not going to get finger prints on it.. which someone could use for the thumb print reader to get into your computer :) Screen resolution is good for widescreen movies, it has integrated intel HD graphics... personally i could never tell the differnce between HD and well... non HD... The problems >.> I have encountered some minor bugs, (mind you this is about 14-20 days after purchase) on lenovos website and some of there videos they boast that they are good entertainent systems.... WRONG! i was playing a heavy metal death song that caused the computer to have a seizure,it stalled the while it was still trying to play the song (bless its heart :D )and the blue screen of death came up! (this is after i had put maybe like two 3d games and other programs on it) but luckily all my data is saved! But thats a problem, that why if you are playing music with the speakers and theres a lot of skipping happening switch over to headphones or an external speaker source, having your computer running a song like that and speakers that loud really run it hard. Battery life is..is bad. yesbad! 2 and a half hours full brightness and 4 hours at the lowset setting, and thats when its not running anything.....bad. THY SUMMARY! Overall, I recommend this laptop, it has style, minor gaming abillites, able to run as an basic family laptop as well, but be wareful when playing music and theres alot of skipping turn it down or plug in some headphones! great speed of dual core processor and 2gb ram (compared to the 500 mb ram i had on my old computer brfore this one) AND DONT FORGET THE FRIGGIN PRICE! enjoy mates!
