LENOVA YOGA - Excellent Computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Received my Lenova Yoga and immediately was able to use it without a problem. Love the versatility. You'll love it, too. Just the right price!!

AWESOME FOR THE PRICE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this Lenovo Yoga 2 11 because my new IPAD SUCKED! The IPAD wouldnt open some sights {bank} and was picky on too many things! Gave the IPAD to my wife. This lil computer does everything i ask of it and have NOT had a single glitch or problem with it! Love having the mouse option for it and also having 2 USB ports; a 2.0 and also a 3.0. Also having all the different positions it will stand in and also fold completely over to a tablet and still be thin is awesome! I'm VERY happy with it after a month so far!

Great computer for me!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a 40-something mother of 4 who had to cede ownership of my iPad to my kids and was tired of waiting for "my turn" on the computer. I wanted something that I could use as a tablet to read the paper or stream Netflix, but I also need a regular computer for email, internet, household budget, MS office, etc. I picked up the Yoga 2 11 about a month ago, and so far I really like it. The good: The size and weight are great. It is bigger/heavier than an iPad, but I have to say when I picked up some of the larger 2-in-1s, I was shocked at how heavy and bulky they were. The 11 is small enough to remain usable in tablet form, but (for me) it is large enough to comfortably use as a laptop as well. The touchscreen and touchpad are very good for me; sensitivity and accuracy have been flawless. The keyboard is a keyboard. The keys don't depress as much as I was used to, and it took a little while to get accustomed to that. If I'm not typing at the right angle I get double keystrokes frequently, but that's something else I have adjusted to. Performance has been fine for me, but you have to remember this is our first new computer in about five years. If you are used to high end processors with SSDs, I'm sure it would seem slow and clunky to you; for me the fact that it boots in 15-20 seconds is pretty amazing. The bad: Less than a week after I got this, I started getting popups about my game store app being updated. The popup wanted me to agree to install an exe file (not happening), and I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Turns out Pokki was installed on my computer during setup and I am still not sure how; I think it was bundled with something else from Lenovo. When I uninstalled Pokki I got a message saying my start menu was going to be deleted (scary, right?) but a little digging online said it was the Pokki start menu that would be deleted, not MY start menu, so I went ahead and removed the program and have had no further issues. Battery life is mediocre. I get just 4-6 hours depending on use, which is enough for my needs but just not spectacular. I had a similar product from Dell that easily got 7+ hours on a charge, and I'm not sure why Lenovo couldn't have done better with this. Many of Lenovo's preinstalled apps were/are corrupt, and it is difficult to figure out which ones are bloatware and which ones are necessary for the computer to work properly. I also initially had problems with my photos app being directed to a folder that didn't exist, and while that wasn't difficult to fix it was initially difficult to diagnose. Overall, I feel this computer was a good value for the price (I got it on sale for $399) and I am happy with my purchase. I would recommend this computer to someone who has basic computing needs and who would enjoy the versatility of a 2-in-1.

Nice, Portable Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this laptop, though I am regretting not getting the Protection Plan now because I'm having some driver issues. A little bit about me: I'm a student and use this computer for homework: Word 2013, internet research, pdf articles, web-based digital humanities programs, etc. I have also been using for general web browsing. It is light - I barely feel it in my backpack all day long with a heavy textbook and several notebooks. It has a nice, sleek design, which makes it easy to type on once you get used to the smaller keyboard (going from a 15.6" laptop to the 11" current laptop). I don't use the other modes that often, but the tent mode is good for viewing videos without having the keyboard in the way. However, in these other modes, it does not seem like the keyboard is deactivated, which isn't as good. The webcam has decent quality, though I haven't had much time to use it yet. The laptop can be kind of hard to open at times because the lid only sticks out maybe a centimeter or less from the outer edge of the bottom part of the laptop. It would have been nice if there was a little tab in the middle that sticks out more to allow for more leverage in getting the laptop open. I have noticed that it slows down some if I have too many programs open at once (Word, pdf viewer, internet all with several documents/tabs). Flash/shockwave has also been acting up on Firefox, but I don't know if this is because of the computer or the internet itself. The battery lasts all day with light use - a few web searches, taking notes during one class, having a pdf open to look at during class, about 5 to 6 hours with moderate use (typing into a document more frequently, web searches, reading a pdf), and about 4 to 5 hours with more heavy use (video streaming, games, charging my phone). Cons: This has more to do with Windows 8, but if you are scrolling with the trackpad or have your hand close to the trackpad on a document or webpage, it will zoom in on the document but then will not allow you to scroll out. This can be really inconvenient to have to go into the zoom settings and reset the zoom level every few minutes. I tried to find a way to disable this but was not able to. Also, the dual-screen view mode is kind of pointless because it only allows you to do this to the apps that are on the computer, but you cannot put a Word document and a pdf or web-browser together unless you want to size the documents yourself on the desktop. It would have been more useful if you could use any application, whether it be on the computer from Lenovo or downloaded onto the computer from another source, side-by-side. All in all, this is a great computer. I've actually used it more than I do my old laptop, but am not quite ready to get rid of the other one yet. It was definitely time to upgrade to a newer system though.

One of the best 11 inch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a laptop/tablet that I can use for on the go work (my job is engineering research work) and something that is light weight. My other machine is an old dell vostro whose 9-cell battery feels almost as heavy as my new Lenovo Yoga. ;) I knew going in that it won't serve all my needs (technical document editing, handling visualization software well like Tecplot etc.). For me, this is my first tablet and I was in no mood to buy a high-end (>$800) laptop right now. I decided on getting an 11 incher and then weighed lots and lots of options around $400 range. When I bought Yoga it was around $450 but I didn't mind because it seemed to be the best option I had in my range. I also wanted something with a decent keyboard and not just a display (I didn't like Surface, it felt like I would be paying for the brand more than anything else there). So far, I like it. I've had no problems with it and it was easy to setup, and though not ultra fast, it runs very smoothly. If you are looking for an 11 incher, this is a great option to consider. I also love the flexible Yoga screen with 4 different modes. It came in more handy than I previously thought, and it's well designed. For e.g., in tablet mode it feels and behaves almost like, say, how a Surface would. It is light enough to hold in one hand and read articles, webpages etc., and the on screen keyboard is great. I give it a 4* only because when I sit down to do my word documents with equations/figures and what not, it feels a little painful. You can still do it if you absolutely have to. Maybe I shouldn't expect that from an 11.6 inch screen, but I've worked on IBM thinkpads and they are definitely better in this regard. I think the screen has a little glare on Lenovo. It's not bad, but could have been better. The whole not feeling like doing my document editing on Lenovo yoga takes away 1 star definitely. I was looking forward to hammer out big reports on this little tablet.

Great little laptop for students
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop for its size since I couldn't lug around my 5-pound 15-inch Toshiba Satellite to my college classes. It works great for typing up papers, but the touch pad is quite impossible to use for long periods of time. Usually I use a wireless mouse or the touch screen (which works great by the way). The screen surprisingly doesn't strain my eyes despite its size. Google Chrome takes a bit longer to start up, but web browsing is still pretty smooth. I've played a few movies on it through my portable hard drive and there were no lags. The sound notifications are annoying; every time you change modes from laptop to stand, etc., it makes a bunch of noise. If you don't plan on using it as anything other than a laptop though, then you probably won't have this problem. Another inconvenience is the speakers; they're directly underneath the laptop, so when listening to audio, do so on a flat surface or with a good pair of headphones because the sound will get muffled on your lap or bed. I'm not sure how it fairs as a daily driver, but for my purposes, this laptop works out pretty well. The battery life is decent; I've gotten 5 hours of use from it, but I do keep my screen at a very low brightness. I would suggest you look elsewhere though it you're looking for something to play graphic-intensive games on.

Great computer for traveling
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed something small, light weight with a nice keyboard and that can be converted to a tablet style. This computer does all of this for me. It even has a keyboard that shows up on the screen when you flip it 360 degrees. So you have a tablet as well as a computer. The hard drive is actually large enough to store things that most people store on a computer. This computer is really great for taking anywhere. It does not have a DVD or CD drive, but you can use an external DVD or CD drive with it. If I could afford to buy more I would buy one for each of my 3 children and their spouses - that is how much I like this computer. Love the touch screen also..

Great 2-in-1 laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a new laptop since my previous one stopped working. My daughter talked me into looking at the 2-in-1's. I did a basic search/review online before heading out to shop. I went to various electronics stores after my research. I was undecided between Sony, HP, and Lenovo. Best Buy had all 3 to compare in-person, which was very helpful! The Sony and HP had detaching keyboards, which is something I thought I would like. But then I thought about dirt and debris getting into the contacts. The Lenovo had an attached keyboard, but flipped to allow for tablet mode. I thought the keyboard would still operate when in this mode, so I tried it out. Guess what, the keys didn't do anything except for activating the virtual keyboard on the display. Another advantage the Lenovo has is the internal memory. The Sony and HP only had 128GB of hard drive. The Lenovo has 500GB. The only disadvantage the Lenovo has is the lack of CD/DVD drive. I priced external CD/DVD drives at Best Buy and they were affordable. So I decided to purchase the Lenovo. I think I made the right decision!! I have only used the laptop for a week but am totally satisfied with the performance. I usually use the laptop in the laptop mode since I am used to a laptop. I think after further use, I will be more comfortable using it in the tablet mode. I hope this helps with your decision!!

Q: QuestionIs the mechanical hard drive upgrade-able by the user?I have a spare 64GB SSD and would like to install that.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes!! The Hard drive is upgradable. It may void your warranty, so buyer beware. you will have to remove the whole bottom panel of the laptop to access the hard drive. There is enough room for a 7mm SSD in this laptop. I used an intel 320 series 300GB SSD (which I removed from my old laptop). It comes with an extender bracket that makes it 9mm, which I removed to make it 7mm. The software I used was to copy the drive was EASEUS TODO Backup. Use to CLONE mode to clone the entire drive with all partitions. I wont go into specifics here, but it is probably the most simple software to use and it is free. The computer started right up and is much more snappy than with the old HDD. Battery life does not improve with SSD drive vs HDD, contrary to popular belief. But the Laptop is considerably quicker at loading programs and start ups.

Q: QuestionWhich is better this laptop or the hp pavilion x360
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Personal experience with HP, just avoid HP at any cost.. They are usually cheap build products that are sold for high prices. Average HP laptop life spam is about 2 years max. (I have 3 in my drawer that look just new. MB failure)

Q: QuestionUpgrading and slow labtopThis is my second Lenovo Yoga 2 11 in 48 hours. The other I took back because frankly it crashed. My current one I am attempting to upgrading windows and it is so so slow. I have never seen something run this slow. I left it on all night to upgrade and it is still going and saying 0%. The sales person told me there is a prompt or something that says to upgrade to windows 8.1, where is that? I am thinking of returning this product, unless I can get some answers. It also keep disconnecting from the wifi at home that I have never had a problem with. I love the durability and feel of this computer but out of the box is not working to my satisfaction. Please help.
Asked by Mel.
- A:Answer I had a similar problem with Wifi. However, after I did the Lenovo registration and Lenovo update, it is working much better and faster

Q: Questionprinter capabilitiesIs the yoga able to be connected with a wifi printer?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Thank you for your questions. Lenovo is always here to help! You can absolutely print from our Yoga 2 models. You need to insure the software for wifi printer you are attempting to print from loaded to your Yoga, so the two products can "talk" to each other. Please let Lenovo know if you have any additional questions. Thank you and have a great day!

Q: QuestionBattery LifeHow many hours can I anticipate usage on a full charge??
Asked by Rod.
- A:Answer I have been able to get eight hours on full charge with fairly heavy use in Office, surfing, blogging and listening to music while I work. I do NOT have the screen brightness at min - I have it at 60% (anything less is simply too dark for me...). Granted, your use may be different than mine however, this is the first hybrid 2-n-1 that has given me this kind of battery life. (Previous owner of the HP X2, 11.6 <~~ HORRIBLE battery life!).
