It's perfect with updated graphics driver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop a little over three weeks ago and was ready to return it after the first week. I did all of the updates via Lenovo but it suffered from the graphics recovery error--the screen would flash and a dialog box appeared describing the error. Thankfully, Intel produced an updated driver that I downloaded last week. Since then, no problems. I tried the HP Spectre, but I didn't care for the all aluminum finish--too slippery. Also, it got much warmer with use than the Lenovo. I love the feel of the rubbery interior while typing, and the keyboard is very comfortable. The ability to fold it over and set it on the keyboard while watching movies or browsing the web is great. The display is amazing! Some have complained about the power block, but I like it. The power strips I use have the outlets perpendicular to the length of the strip--the block only takes up one space. In a worst case scenario you can use a short extension cord if it blocks your outlets. It's a lot nicer having the weight of the block at the outlet vs hanging in the middle of the cord. I travel for a living and the light weight-less than 3 pounds-- of this laptop is a welcome relief. I originally looked at the surface 4 because I needed the minimal weight, but the Yoga had better specs for less money. I very pleased with this purchase.

Yoga 900
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop! The only thing I don't like about this laptop is that the actual laptop does not match the picture used to advertise the laptop online. The actual laptop DOES NOT have 3 screens. I guess the laptop is depicted that way to highlight the fact that the screen is hinged, and it opens and closes. I guess that is a pretty important thing to highlight in the picture, considering all the laptops on the market with screens that are permanently attached at a fixed angle.

So many issues for a brand new computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the Lenovo Yoga 900 for about 1 week now and here is my review. PROS 1) It's really fast - internet, network, processing, etc. 2) It has a sleek design and the best looking laptop in the market 3) There's not much bloatware compared to the Lenovo Yoga 2 11 5) Battery lasts me about 6~9 hours and I use the computer intensively -- youtube, music, facebook, typing, watching movie. CONS: 1) Lid issue. Google “Lenovo Yoga 900 Lid close sleep issue”. The laptop does not sleep or hibernate when the lid is closed. I double checked my settings and the laptop does not sleep/hibernate when the lid is closed. This issue is true for my Lenovo. 2) Sleep mode issue. When you put the computer on sleep mode, you will not be able to wake the computer up unless you do a hard reset. Google “lenovo Yoga 900 Sleep mode issue”. Hitting the power does not help. Only a hard reset will wake the computer. This issue is true for my Lenovo. 3) FAN ISSUE. Anytime you open an application or try opening any programs, the fan makes that noise and it’s loud. 4) Graphics, display and resolution issue. The recommended display is at 250%. Most website or apps that I use looks weird in this computer. The photos that looks ok in my other computer, looks weird in this Lenovo yoga 900. The resolution is not crisp at all. Due to the graphics card/resolution, all other display looks weird – like the facebook app, Microsoft word, photos, and some websites.

Cheap make and bad after sale customer service
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In less than 2 months from purchase (Exactly 48 days), the end of the decorative links between the screen and keyboard fell off (Check Pictures). Contacted customer service, when they got back to me they only confirmed that it is still in warranty (Of course it is, didn't own it for 2 months yet). Not a single word that they are sorry about the cheap product being sold at that price point. Will never buy a Lenove again, this was my first, and will definitely be my last.

Better than HP Spectre!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cons: Bought this machine and was VERY excited. Upon setup, realized that the two finger scroll command does NOT work in settings, or star menu, or options, ONLY in web browsing mode which is incredibly frustrating to have to keep remembering between when it works and when it does not. Also, the double "tap" function does not work, like on any HP, Dell, etc. You have to physically press with 2 fingers (instead of tap) at which point the touch pad makes a loud crunch sound. One more thing, the touch pad has sharp edges which are unpleasant to the touch when you swipe over it accidentally. Not painful or anything, just not something I would like to feel all the time. Also, this machine does not have a full keyboard in the sense of the buttons are smaller, making it hard to type accurately, and the SHIFT key is tiny and hard to press most of the time. Another issue I noticed is the battery life. Upon first opening it, I followed all instructions and charged, drained, recharged etc. and on the first full battery I got phenomenal battery life. I used it for 3 days intermediately without a problem. However, after the second charge, I open the device, and on full battery and power saving more, it shows my battery only having 4 hours and 56 minutes left. Keep in mind, on my first charge, I probably got closer to 11 hours from one charge and being on battery saver mode. This is not very promising. Pros: This is a beautiful machine and is very well built. If you have small finders or are used to a 13" then the keyboard would not bother you at all. The screen resolution and color are just spectacular and you can't beat the i7 processor. The computer does not lag, at all and its hard to max it out even with 15 tabs open, email, other programs, etc. The yoga 900 comes with windows 10 standard, so no additional work is required here. Overall, this is a great computer, however, I will be taking it back for something with a bigger keyboard and better battery life. Thanks!

Great Specs; Great Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does anyone know if I could replace this SK Hynix HFS512G39MND-3310A DB with the Samsung 950 Pro? In other words, does it support both SATA III and PCIe via m.2 connection? Best Buy now sells an updated version of this model with the i7-6560 (Iris graphics) and PCIe SSD, however I don't know if it's the same motherboard and BIOS version. Disk: Removable To start, I want to point out that this laptop does not have a PCIe (NVMe) SSD, it's a SATA III (M.2) drive. (Best Buy doesn't do a very good job of labeling the specs and it's frustrating, since they have their exclusive Best Buy models to avoid price matching.) Regardless, it's very fast and seems as quick as the Microsoft Surface and I'm not sure you'd notice the difference between the updated graphics (not a gaming laptop) and SSD. (See attached photo for ssd benchmark). Memory: Soldered (buy the correct amount of RAM you need). DDR3-1866 Operating System: Windows 10 Home (Signature Edition = No bloatware) Display - 3200 x 1800 Haven't had any issues, however it's a touch glossy when viewing outside...still able to see. I set the display a couple notches brighter than what the manufacturer selected. Battery - Internal (easy removal, under bottom panel - 10 t-5 screws) I got 3 days out of my battery after the initial charge with very little activity until the battery died. When used frequently, expect 7-9 hours. WiFi- Have had no issues - pretty solid, especially with an AC router. Hinge - Unlike previous models (which I've replaced a couple with broken top and bottom covers), this one has more contact points and there are less stress points for fracture. Keyboard - It takes a little bit to get used to the keys, however I don't find it that annoying, as others have pointed out. My goal in buying this was for business (IT Consulting). I went with the 500GB SSD and 16GB RAM. I was trying to combine the MS Surface with a Razor Blade Stealth/Macbook and save money. So far, this has been perfect. Spec for spec, this is a great value compared to HP x360 Spectre and XPS 13 Touch.

Q: Questionlenevo yoga 900 i7 heat with slim profile and windows hello face recognisation supporthow does lenevo yoga 900 handle i7 with 2.5Ghz and 16GB handle heat with so slim profile and does it support face recognition windows hello feature?
Asked by Kanwar.
- A:Answer I'm not sure of the Windows Hello feature. A Lenovo rep who was at Best Buy, told me that the camera to the left of the main center camera, was for Windows Hello. But I also recall reading online that it does not support it. As far as heat: I had several HP Spectre x360s (all i7, QHDs; Broadwell and 1 new Skylake) and they all got too hot for me. They would get super hot around the top left corner near the charging port. And worst of all, they all, at times, became too hot around the left palm rest area. I could not deal with that and the entire unit was just a bit too bulky and heavy for tablet mode to feel right. They also became too hot on the bottom rear center area. Those are the reasons I now have a Yoga 900 i7, 16GB RAM. The Yoga feels much lighter and a bit thinner. It also does not get hot or even warm anywhere on the palm rests or keys. The Yoga can and does sometimes become hot on the bottom rear center area (below the hinges). That is not a problem for me because at home I always place it on a pillow and away from home I place it on the carrying case and or my laptop bag (if not on my desk). Another nice thing about the Yoga is that unlike the Spectre, it has no vents on the bottom so you never have to worry about what you place it on. The vents are all hidden behind the watchband hinge.

Q: QuestionDoes this allow screen mirroring? If not, could I use an adapter for HDMI?Hello, I'm hoping to be able to transfer online TV shows (from ABC.com, for example) from the laptop to my TV screen. I notice there is no HDMI port on this laptop. Does anyone know if it has screen mirroring capabilities? And if not, is there some sort of adapter I could buy that would allow me to connect the laptop to the HDMI port on my TV? Thanks!
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes...absolutely can mirror to another screen...I did so to my large flatscreen TV and it was painless. I also got a nice USB C-type to HDMI adapter around $6.

Q: QuestionHow is the WIFI connectivity on this laptop?I need a computer that has good wifi connectivity that will not drop out every few minutes.
Asked by Pandora.
- A:Answer So far, so good on multiple networks! I do know that occasionally it messes up if you shut the lid and go into sleep mode. Usually if that happens, I'll go into device manager, and disable, then enable the driver. This also happened on the Yoga 3, so my guess is that it's the Intel wireless driver. After the reset, it's OK. If you power your machine down, no problems.

Q: Questionis there an optional docking station?
Asked by Joe.
- A:Answer Not one specific to the machine. I use a Targus HDMI/USB docking station and it fills the bill nicely with dual video ports and multiple USB ports.
