Excellent Tablet for the pricePosted .
I have been quite a fixture at one of my local Best Buy stores as of late. I love gadgets and while in the store on my last visit while doing some pre Black Friday shopping I came across this 8" Android tablet none other than the Lenovo Yoga 8#B6000F#! First I would like to say that the only thing I actually disliked about this tablet upon unboxing and testing it out was the custom UI that Lenovo decided to use on this tablet. If you are familiar with technology the UI kind of appears like iOS 7/MIUI in design. None the less I dislike it and this did not affect my rating or opinion of this device because their was a simple solution that does not require rooting the device and voiding your warranty. Please don't ask me about rooting if you are unfamiliar with the term Google is your best friend. You will be able to find plenty of information on the subject of rooting. A word of caution to anyone who does try to go that route you WILL void your warranty and any claims that you may have been entitled too under said warranty and even worse you can possibly permanently damage your device rendering it unusable unless you send it in for repair or opt to shell out more money and buy a new device. Now with that being said back to my review of this tablet. On with the good or things that I love about this device. First I have read several other reviews around the web basically complaining about the display and the fact that it was not HD. I will say that I have played several games from the Play Store, watched several movies and shows via Netflix and I think this display is wonderful. The picture quality was great and the colors looked fine for the size of this device. The games that I have played so far looked stunning on this display I'm namely referring to one of my favorite titles FIFA 14 this game looks like a mini version of the console version. For a tablet display this game really shows that this display is not as bad as many tend to say it is but then everyone is entitled to their opinion however it's not fair to mislead unwary consumers unless you truly use the device and test it out! Now what I will say also is that one device #I will not name it here# that many of these negative reviewers recommend actually looks really bad when playing certain gaming titles and even Netflix did not look as great on it.I will not name the device or it's maker because it really depends on what you use your device for and since I am a gamer and love to watch Netflix the display is something that I pay close attention to the picture quality. The built in kick stand is wonderful it is made of aluminum and feels sturdy you can also utilize 3 different viewing angles all of which I found pleasing to the eye when viewing the screen. The speakers are built in to housing for the kickstand, battery and earphone jack. The speakers face the front of the device and the sound quality is actually very good the built in Dolby Surround sounds really great when watching movies and gaming especially coming from such a small device. The tablet boasts 18 hour of up time on a fully charged battery while just using the tablet for reading and surfing the web. I have left the tablet on all night for the past couple of days and occasionally wake up throughout the night to post on forums and surf the web and the battery life is very impressive. Now if you game on the tablet then it will drain a lot quicker than the latter tasks because you are utilizing the cpu more. The Quad core processor and the 1 GB of RAM is very efficient for this device and it has been running very smooth for me with no lag. This tablet is very light and very comfortable to hold which is a big plus.Overall for the price this tablet is a great value. For those that say another brand is better think about this if you have the extra money to spend on a higher priced device with an HD display at a higher resolution then that's great go for it. But for those budget conscious individuals whose finances will not allow them to put a money into a higher priced device this Lenovo Yoga 8 is a great option for them.An inexpensive device is not always the better option but neither is the most expensive device on the market. It all comes down to your needs and personal preference as to what device you choose to buy! I highly recommend the Lenovo Yoga 8 to anyone on a budget or just looking for a nice tablet at an affordable price!I would recommend this to a friend

tablet that outperformed my expectationsPosted .
I was looking for a 10 inch tablet and happened to come across this unique tablet. I didn't think much of it but the battery life caught my eye. I needed a tablet that I could surf the web, watch YouTube, watch my own movies, and still play some games without it dying on me within hours of charging it. I spent sometime looking for reviews of this device but not much came up, but what did greatly praised the tablet. With that I was of to the store to buy it , and while there I was playing with other tablets like the Samsung's,Toshiba's, and the nexus 7. I figured this tablet was bigger than the nexus but smaller than the galaxy note 10 and would be the sweet spot on a comfortable tablet. When I got home I was shocked on how great the table looks and feels in your hand, the stock pictures of this tablet do not do it justice it is quite a looker. The metal stand feels sturdy and that groove on the battery really does make it feel more natural in your hand. Once turned on it had 81% battery and this thing was snappy and works well so i loaded my apps like chrome , eBay, Gmail, Player pro, and mxplayer with no problems. I also added games like dead trigger 2 a fps and it works smoothly, I thought this tablet would struggle with demanding games because of the CPU but this tablet handled it well. So now I'm at my third day with this tablet with only using it in the evening I'm at 57%. That is insane battery life since I used it constantly from 5 to 10 pm. I guess this is because I keep brightness low and only use WiFi when I need it. The speakers on the tablet are clear but not too loud during movie playback on mxplayer with sound boost turned on. The stand is one feature that I have come to love since I set my tablet as an alarm, watch movies on my lap, read walking dead comics, and the hinge allows me to tilt the tablet to the exact position I want for all of those things. Camera is decent at best but not great. Microphone is good and Google now has no problem understanding me. Bluetooth 4.0 is great so streaming music to my car is seamless.WiFi speeds are great. When I had both Bluetooth and WiFi turned on I never felt the tablet heat up. I received an update for the tablet on the system update settings in the about tablet menu, hopefully this means that lenovo is serious about supporting this tablet with android system updates. So in the end I'm happy with my purchase and defitely would recommend this to people considering 7 inch tablet's. My only gripe about this tablet is the lack of HDMI but that wasn't a deal breaker for me. So I hope this was helpful to someone considering this tablet because it really shouldn't be passed over.I would recommend this to a friend

What's not to like?!Posted .
Tech is my life. I deal with it day in and day out on my job and at home. I don't believe in spending a lot of money to stay on the tech cutting edge. There are enough options out there that you shouldn't have to. I use my devices primarily for light gaming, email, and general internet surfing. When I visited Best Buy to research the ideal size and setup I stumbled upon the Lenovo Yoga 8 and was immediately intrigued. I did my research, and despite some of the complaints about software and/or interface issues I decided to give it a try. In the past couple of days I have seriously dug into the system and absolutely love it! I have found this system to actually provide me a feel of a combination of typical and Android interface and computer combined. It's awesome! The screen resolution is great. Do not listen to those who complain about this. It far surpasses the Samsung Galaxy product that was displayed next to it at the store, not to mention that you get an extra inch of screen size. I have had several 7" tablets and they were just a bit smaller than I was comfortable with. I also knew the 10" screen size was a bit too big for what I needed. This screen size and resolution are awesome. I have watched videos on this tablet and everything is crisp and clear. Let's add the fact that this baby takes up to a 64GB SD card! I haven't seen another system this size with these features offer the same storage capacity. This system is incredibly responsive, with no lag time at all. All my favorite apps downloaded in a snap. I have added a 32GB SD card and run all games and secondary apps off the card. Last, but not least, is the amazing price of this system. I bought on sale at $199.99 after Christmas and even received a $15 gift card with the purchase! The only downside I see for this tablet is the lack of custom accessories available. Because of the size of the "handle" a standard cover does not fit. A sleeve works great, but I am partial to covers with built-in keyboard and Lenovo has apparently not figured out that users want that option. The built-in stand helps to make up for that, but I would love to see them introduce a keyboard option for the 8" version. If you are at all curious about this system try it out. Super users who are used to a high end tablet may not like this system, but I can almost guarantee that if you are new to tablets, or don't want to spend a fortune for great functionality, you won't regret it. Love the handle for reading ebooks!I would recommend this to a friend

Great 8" TabletPosted .
Battery life is amazing, screen is bright and clear. Easy to use and access power button. I use Touchdown, a business Exchange client, and it runs quickly and smoothly. Streaming video works perfectly including streaming TV from Verizon Fios. Nexus has better specs but I prefer the Yoga largely because of battery life, built in stand and external storage capability. Can't find anything I don't like about it.I would recommend this to a friend

This yoga is brilliantPosted .
I have had a couple of tablets, I also have an iPad, but I bought this for its compact size and speed. It is lightening fast and can handle many tasks at once. It is a good size and weight for using as a book reader. It is easy to hold with its fold away stand, and it's battery life is astonishing. I only charge it up every third day, where my previous one were every day. I watched two movies and listened to music, on a recent eight hour flight, and still had enough power to do some reading.I would recommend this to a friend

Really cool twist on a tablet PC!Posted .
Loved this tablet but had to return it after only a week because of monetary reasons. (Not the tablet's fault!). The size was great for one handed use and reading. Display was very sharp and clear. The kickstand was easy to use and provided a nice way to watch videos on the device or type on the screen. Speaking of which, the on screen keyboard worked quite well and had very few lapses or mistakes. I enjoyed the portability and size of this tablet. It was easier to carry around than a full size iPad and still had many of the same functions and abilities as the iPad. I had originally bought to be a second tablet I could use in certain instances. But in the end I realized I couldn't afford it along with my other bills. If I had the chance, I would purchase this tablet again as my second tablet. It was easy to use and unique.I would recommend this to a friend

Excellent for what I neededPosted .
Most of the industry reviews call the device lackluster. While the specs are not cutting edge, this is a very solid unit with a lot of good qualities. I would advise waiting for it to go on sale. As I write this, it is down to $199. Install the Novo Launcher from the Play Store to make it look more like a stock Android device. (This is really simple to do.) I use the tablet for ebooks, music, email, some web browsing, and shopping. I find it zippy and smooth. I am not trying to crack the human genome or mine Bitcoin. While the speakers sound pretty good for a small device, I usually play music to my TV soundbar over Bluetooth. It seems to have a really good range. The display is fine for everything I use it for. No, I would not want my neurosurgeon to use it while performing brain surgery, but it works nicely for streaming episodes of Arrested Development on Netflix. Many reviewers think that the Nexus 7 is a better value. And maybe that hardware is a bit beefier, but if you don't need the extra oomph, and you want a larger screen, and battery life is important, and you can get this tablet on sale, it is a fine piece of technology.I would recommend this to a friend

Best little tabletPosted .
This tablet is great as an ebook reader and with the built in stand and with a bluetooth keyboard it rivals the Windows 8 RT tablets. With the OTG usb capability I can do most anything on the Yoga that I can do with a regular PC. Have recommended this to everyone.I would recommend this to a friend

Q: QuestionHow do you find and purchase new apps?
Asked by Jfintchre.
- A:Answer When you started your tablet the first time, it asked you to either create a new, or sign in to an existing Google account. Once you are signed up, all you need to do is go to the Google Play store (there is an icon on your screen) and browse the selection (or search for something in particular). Free apps can simply be downloaded (just tap...). Apps that show a price tag have to be paid for. To be able to download payed apps, the Play store will ask you for your credit card information. Hope that helps.

Q: Questionhow large is the screen? What are the dimensions of the actual viewing area? 8 Inch Tablets seem to vary alot in how large the screen size actually is.
Asked by AtlantaKim.
- A:Answer This screen is actually about 7-3/4" diagonally and 6-3/4" wide. The top and bottom of the screen have some command and display functions which use 1/4" of space at the top and bottom, each; excluding these functions, the screen has 3-3/4" of vertical viewing area.
