This buddy cop comedy was better than I expected. It actually turned out to be a movie that was pretty funny with a few hilarious gags (albeit ones we have seen before, but it was OK) and then the rest of the movie being pretty good. Now, there weren't any parts of the movie that felt dull but the reason it isn't as good as other 2014 comedies like 22 Jump Street and Neighbors is because it is VERY silly and totally unrealistic. Besides superhero movies and things like that, this has to be one of the most unrealistic films that I have ever seen. Nonetheless, Damon Wayans Jr. and Jake Johnson had great chemistry together and elevated the material in this. Rob Riggle was also really good here, as he had a much bigger part than in movies like The Hangover and 21 and 22 Jump Street. Nina Dobrev was also good here as a comedic female lead and a romantic female lead. The plot was that two underachieving best friends (Wayans Jr. and Johnson) decide to pretend to be police officers, as they think they will accomplish great things under this newfound "status". Of course along the way they get involved in a crime ring, and have to dig themselves out of it. Three and a half stars!

I am a person who hates comedies almost entirely

But this was Outstanding! it was exactly as I expected. I do not like comedies because it feels degrading to my intellect. 90% of comedies (or the material in them) seem to just be about stupid people doing stupid things and when I laugh at those events, it makes me feel stupid laughing at something that is dumb and not well thought out. That's why I do not enjoy movies like Bad Grandpa, Scary movie, Tammy, Dumb and Dumber, Neighbors, etc. What persisted me to watch this was the idea that, unlike most comedies where material is just shot out (probably from someone's rear) and shot into 2 hours of nonsense to get people to laugh, the people who had the idea to make this film sat down, threw out some ideas, chronicled them together neatly, and came out on top with a decent comedy. I am not offending people who desire to watch this genre of movie, I am simply stating why I care not for them. My point is: for someone like me who dislikes almost all comedies/spoofs, This is a worthy review (at least to me, but perhaps not the general public).

I bought this movie looking for a comedy and I remember seeing posters of this movie when it first premiered in theaters. I hadn't seen the movie before and thought it looked interesting enough and for the low price of $3.99, I thought "what the hey". I was pleasantly surprised at how funny it was and the story line was, in my opinion, quite good. For people that is struggling in what to do in their "post-college" life (whether it's personal or career), they will find the characters in this movie relatable. If you like the show "New Girl," you probably will like this movie. Even if you don't watch the show "New Girl," you may still find this movie entertaining and enjoyable.

This is one movie I can honestly say I really enjoyed. The trailers were not inspiring but I turned to the peoples reviews. Trying to mix comedy with a serious side can fall short such as "Ride Along" which failed to make the transition. "Ride Along" had potential to be funny be missed the mark by a wide margin. This hit the mark where others failed. Pain is always funny and has been used many times in Hollywood where the tradition goes back to silent pictures. This movie has its flaws but not worth dragging through the mud. Who's perfect! I recommend some popcorn, kick back and holler "Ooooh, that's going to leave a mark", and check to see if your medical insurance is up too date!

This was an impulse buy near the register. I had been looking at this movie for a few weeks but didn't really want to drop $20 on a blind buy, however at a lower price I figured it was worth a shot. It's not the best buddy (fake) cop movie I've ever seen but it does have it's moments. Rob Riggle does add some weight to the cast and Wayans shows a little bit of promise that he never got the chance to show in The Other Guys (He was good in that, but didn't have much screen time) The movie drags a little in places and a few scenes seem like they would've been better off on the cutting room floor but it's still worth a watch.

Hilarious buddy comedy. When I first watched the movie I was expecting something more generic, but that is not what I received. Not only does the movie hit all the beats you would expect, but it goes even further and really put the two leads in really deep. Jake Johnson and Damon Waynes Jr. play off each other very well. And with a plot that's not too far fetched and very plausible this movie is great for any fan of comedy.

This film has everything, comedy, drama, and action!! Daman Wayans Jr. is just as funny as his father, if not funnier. I would definitely reccomend this film to everybody I know. If there was ever a time, when you want to impersonate a cop, this is the film to see. Don't miss out on this comedy gem. Like I mentioned previously, this film has everything you can ask for...

This movie is pretty much exactly what you'd expect. There are a few amusing parts and I didn't feel like it was two hours of my life wasted (though I'm sure there are more productive things I could have been doing). I should probably note that I watched this after a couple of drinks which may have raised the rating a little more than it was worth :-)
