The fridge this replaced stuck out 7" beyond the counter. This model is nearly flush. 5 years ago, buying a counter depth fridge meant spending a minimum of $3,500 or more. No longer. The LG model I bought has the 'door within a door' feature, which permits both added storage, and helps keep the main compartment cold even when it's frequently accessed during the course of the day.

This fridge or its clones gets included in many "5 best" lists from rating magazines. Sleek modern appearance, energy-saving because of the convenient door-in-door, thermos-height water dispenser. Negatives: ice maker makes a lot of noise when refilling water reservoir and dumping finished cubes. If mounted next to a cabinet, unit must be pulled forward from wall to avoid opening door bumping on cupboard. So "pivoting on their own radius" doors would be a plus.

This Refrigerator is just perfect. Door in Door is really nice convenience. The black stainless is a joy---no fingerprints ever. It's really blends well with other stainless with black. I am so enjoying this fridge. Also the ice maker is a dream. Fills tall bottles with ease and no dripping when you get ice and water. I really like it.
