Thrilled with this LG dishwasher. Read all the reviews beforehand plus downloaded the manual. I researched many models, then took my pots, dishes, & glassware for a practice load in my local Best Buy. The first 5 model tryouts were disappointing BUT then came this LG Quad-wash model which suits my needs to perfection. The adjustments for racks and tines are beyond fabulous. The third rack on the very top has adjustments that the more expensive Bosch did not have. Three positions for the middle rack serves every purpose I have tried out so far. The quiet is a little eerie since our old dishwasher was deafening. Many complaints in other reviews seemed easily remedied by reading the instructions carefully. Consumer Reports gave shockingly low ratings that seem wholly unjustified. Whether loaded with pasta pots, dog bowls, oversized mugs, or dainty glass salad bowls, the cleanliness is perfect. I can even put plastic/silicone cutting boards in with no worries. Washing status is easily visible on top. Drying works very well with the stainless tub. Some of my mugs have 'pockets' that collect water, BUT the water residue is CLEAN unlike my old dishwasher. This equipment gets my highest recommendation. It was a Black Friday sale purchase (ahead of time) and Best Buy discounted a further 10% for my military service. This dishwasher has a manually cleaned filter which also makes it superior to my old machine. After testing each cycle that is offered I verified the results advertised. My handyman did the installation carefully following the instructions. It was so easy I could have actually done it myself. This dishwasher is so well-engineered that you can adjust the height at the back of the machine for leveling purposes from THE FRONT! What an aggravation-saver!!! This LG model is impressive with a short learning curve to boot. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

    Great Dishwasher, Extremely Quiet

We never thought much about the quality of a dishwasher until we went shopping for a new one. This dishwasher was touted as a quiet, efficient, mid-range dishwasher. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice it turned out to be. First, the dishwasher has a ton of room and versatility. The lower rack is fairly standard, with collapsible tines. The utensils tray sits along the back and has plenty of space. When you move to the second rack is where things get more versatile. The second rack can move up and down to adjust the clearance on both the second rack and lower rack. With adjustable tines, there's plenty of ways to load and use the second rack. Then there's the third rack at the top. We weren't even aware this was a feature on new dishwashers, but we're sure glad it is. It's perfect for long utensils, lids, and knives. For a family with young kids, we find the third rack extremely useful for sippy cup lids and knives that we want to keep out of reach of our young toddlers. Second, this dishwasher is quiet. We can barely tell when it's running. The loudest noise it makes while running is honestly when it drains and we can hear it draining through the sink drain. Otherwise, this thing is nearly silent. This was a huge selling point for us, and we weren't disappointed. The only area where this dishwasher falls short is drying performance. However, my research suggests that's a common theme among the new energy efficient dishwashers. Because they have to adhere to strict energy usage, these new models just don't pump as much heat to dry dishes as the older models did. Drying performance definitely improves with a rinse aid, so consider it mandatory to use a rinse aid to get any kind of reasonable drying performance. All in all, it's a great dishwasher and we would highly recommend it. Pros: - Great versatility with adjustable racks - Third rack is extremely useful - Quiet - Looks great - Solid quality Cons: - Lacks in drying power - Not as fingerprint resistant as we'd like

Washes great, but defective (and LG doesn't care!)

The dishwasher is extremely quiet, and washes much better than the builders model that was installed with our new house. We have always loved and trusted LG products (TVs, Washer/Dryer, Fridge, as you can see from my pic), but unfortunately this dishwasher has developed an issue within the 1 year 'warranty' that LG refuses to address! Cracks have appeared in the control panel, and instead of cheerfully replacing the panel, when contacted by the authorized service firm, they responded that this is a 'cosmetic' issue and is not covered. They even blamed us for 'closing it wrong' (not sure how we could do that, and there are no kids in the house that could have slammed it). LG, to you this may be a 'cosmetic' issue, but hello, cosmetics are a BIG reason why we purchase expensive LG products in the first place. If having cracks and defects in a $700+ dishwasher that is less than one year old is considered normal to you, then by all means buy it (it works great), but I take pride in form as well as function, which evidently LG does not. I guess my biggest disappointment with LG is that they basically don't stand behind the products they sell, and place saving a few bucks trying to 'run out the clock' on a customer's warranty over ruining the reputation of their products. For anyone that cares to see, the pic attached shows the cracks in the dishwasher control panel, as well as a montage of other LG products that we have (but sadly I think we are done with LG)

Bought in September 2017. Excellent dishwasher and cleaned like no other dishwasher we have had in the last 20 years! But...after 4 months of dependable use it started having issues with the control panel and system board. In the last six months, it has been a total nightmare with the control panel needing to be replaced for the 3rd time now. With a total of 36 days and counting of loss of use between the 3 incidents, it has been very disheartening. With a large family, we greatly depend on our dishwasher. Currently, we are waiting on a backoredered control panel which is suppose to arrive in a week. The Geek Squad service guys have been great but the corporate guys have been disappointing. We were told we could get reimbursed for extended loss of use or a replacement unit after the 3rd failure of the same component. This is not the case. Apparently, they are not willing to work with and just us telling us to sit tight and wait for the parts. This will certainly impact future purchasing decisions from Best Buy for our family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

    Very Good Dishwasher

I love that the dishwasher has three shelves, the top one is for silverware. There is a section on the top shelf that can be adjusted to become a little deeper. The advertisements show cups being put in this area, but only small coffee/tea cups will fit there and we don't drink from small coffee cups. We use that section for bigger utensils like spatulas, big spoons, etc. The second shelf can also be adjusted to be deeper which is great if you use big bottles/cups like shaker bottles or Tervis type cups, as they fit easily with the second shelf dropped down a little. The quad wash system works wonderful and the machine is quiet. There is no heating element that drys the dishes, the machine uses blowers to blow around the heat from when the dishes were washed and rinsed to dry them. I like that idea because the dishes are not too hot to touch after it finishes but it does extend the time to wash/dry time. Best to run the dishwasher at night, before going to bed and it will be done way before you have to get up. You can add an app to your smartphone and track/start the dishwasher from your phone. Nice idea but not necessary. Overall, this is a very good dishwasher.

    Very disappointed

Words cannot express my deep disappointment with this dishwasher. I bought it after my last dishwasher started breaking down right before Thanksgiving in 2017. It sings little jingles when you turn it on and when the cycle is done, which is annoying and also probably its best quality. We have tried every cycle, every option, and regardless of what we try our dishes come out caked with food residue, grimy, and not clean. I'm hoping that we got a dud, because there is simply no other explanation for how bad this dishwasher has been. I took the advice of putting in dishes that we hadn't rinsed - it just meant doing all of the dishes again by hand. I've tried scrubbing my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher and miraculously they come out dirtier than they went in. I regret shelling out the money to get this dishwasher when I could have fixed my old one - which wasn't great, but at least actually cleaned dishes most of the time.

    Poor Durability

This is a very attractive appliance - which is what sells it in the store. When you get it installed and begin using it, it becomes fussy. The door latch does not like to close, and tolerances between the lower rack and the door are too tight. We had three LG Service calls during the warranty period for the door latch. Just outside of the 1 year warranty period, the control panel cracked (as you also read here in another review). Then 3 weeks after the crack the dishwasher stopped working. So sorry, out of warranty says LG support. I have an independent appliance repairman (LG Recommended) charge me $ 125 to come out and tell me the control modules and non-replaceable fuses on the computer boards are fried, due to that crack in the control panel. "Too costly to fix" he says "Get a new dishwasher". So at 14 months of age, this LG went to the dump and was discarded and replaced with a Kitchenaid that has no door latching issues. If you decide to buy this unit, better buy the extended warranty because you will need it. LG is all done with backing the product on the 366th day of ownership.

In September 2017 we purchased this dishwasher as part of a kitchen remodel. At first, we loved it but that soon ended. After just a few months it stopped responding when we touched any buttons but worked again after turning the breaker off and back on. In May of 2018, it stopped working completely. We contacted LG and they requested an appliance repair shop to come out. He stated that the computer was fried and he had to order a new one. That was the last we heard from him (we acknowledge that LG is not responsible for that). After several weeks LG gave us contact info for another shop but that one refuses to work on LG warranties. We found this very odd that they would refuse work. Since then we have spent countless hours on the phone trying to get this dishwasher fixed or replaced. Now 3 months later and we still have a nonfunctioning dishwasher with no clue when it will.
