Great price and great picture for the size
||Posted .I purchased two of these on Black Friday and I love the great image. Wanted a monitor the same size as the iMac 27" to hook up the my new Mac Pro I plan on getting very soon. These were so big I needed two purchase a new desk, for both of them to fit. If you are looking for a two monitor setup then this monitor is the one at a fraction of a price for a Mac or a PC. The picture blow me away. If you can get this for $190 buy. I would it at regular price, the image is that good.

not typical LG
Posted .Straight out of the box, the first thing I noticed was the plug. They built the DC converter into the plug, a practice that was proven useless to consumers a long time ago. But it's not the old style DC converter in plug. This one tried to be slim and therefore had to be longer. Not only is it not slim enough to be able to plug something in beside it, but the extra length could mean even more user-unfriendly than typical DC converter plug design. Meanwhile, the cord is very thin for a power cord, even if it is DC. Wall mounters with an outlet high on the wall might find this to be a plus. Next up, the screen itself. The non-reflective coating leads to a screen that is NOT shiny or glossy, which is a very good thing in my book. Additionally, the bezel and base are matter, which should make them less distracting and more resistant to smudges and wear. Once the screen is on, you can't help but notice a very large and bright red LED pointing downwards. This can be turned off in the menu. Even when it's set to off though, it will still be on when the screen first comes on and/or when transitioning between inputs/resolution. In other words, it's on when it's useful and off when you can see that the screen itself is on. Pretty intelligent. Sadly, it's all downhill from there. I see now that the screen's brightness is rated at 33% less than what most screens are and you can tell even without consulting white papers. Right out of the box, the screen's brightness is set to max and it's not bright enough. No amount of tinkering with the settings (which are subdivided into more menus than is necessary) could fix this, or the overall appearance of the colors being "off." It is of note that this assessment is in fact with two monitors. I had to return the first as it was warped, causing the bottom left corner to appear washed out. The 2nd monitor seemed to suffer from the same problem, though much more faintly. Either from a minor bezel torque or just plain warming up, it seems to have righted itself. If you experience this, try loosening up the stand screws ever so slightly as I did this for the 2nd monitor. Also, the right screw socket for the DVI plug was very tight, almost like it was cross-threaded. Since it happened the same way on both monitors, I'm willing to accept that this could be my cord, not the monitor. The stand itself is pretty sturdy, as it would need to be on a screen of this size and weight. In the back is a hook to aid in routing wires, which was helpful to me as my speakers are placed such that I can use it for them also. I was happy that the screen didn't come with speakers. Monitors should be monitors, not speakers and USB hubs. Especially flat panels where the speakers are rubbish anyways. I am almost certain to be returning this, unable to even go half a day with either of the two I had my hands on. This contrasted to my last two LG LCD monitors (including one that was LED backlit) that were great quality AND great colors, straight out of the box.

Perfect for viewing multiple files on one screen!
||Posted .I use this as the main monitor along with my MacBook Pro because I wanted something large enough to have multiple documents and apps open at the same time and be able to easily view them side by side. I am very pleased with it so far. It was easy to set up, and the color and clarity of the images on this monitor are excellent! I like the fact that even though it is a 27" wide screen, I still get quite a bit of vertical view. Because of the size of the monitor, it seems a little top heavy on the base, but I haven't had any problems with its stability, so I think it will be okay.

Great monitor for the price
||Posted .I bought this on black friday 2013 for $189.99. I was excited to see a 27" IPS monitor for this price and actually find it in store when I got there later in the day. The picture is great and was easy to set up. My main gripe so far is taht is seem to make edges and curves more rough and more noticeable. I was watching a movie on it and could see everything as a little rough... more than I wanted. Some of my games seem to have a similar issue even with maxed out Anti Aliasing, but other than the few times I notice this it is a great product and would get a second one in a heart beat. It is wierd to see how colors on this monitor compare to my old one which is also running on the same comp. the colors are brighter and at first I thought it was off color but after adjusting settings I realized I was just used to my other monitor and its screen.

Beautiful monitor
||Posted .This is an excellent monitor and a step up from my older LG 27" LED regular TN monitor (model E2742VA) and significantly better than my Dell 24", which is still holding up well as a secondary monitor. Colors are reproduced much better on this monitor and text is clear and sharp. Although the same resolution as my 24", the larger size really does make it easier to use as everything is just a bit larger. I love using this monitor for gaming and the only thing that could make this better, would be a higher resolution.

Great monitor for the price
||Posted .At this price there is very little to be found wanting. I'm use to a denser pixel ratio and having a bit more "view" per square inch, but for the price this monitor is just about perfect. It is great for watching video and is perfect for digital art. I'm very happy with my purchase. It may not be ideal for watching HD video or movies or multi-window programs like 3D suites. Photoshop gets a little cluttered, but since I mostly paint in PS my window panels are minimal. This is a great entry point to the larger monitors.

Wonderful monitor!
||Posted .This monitor was bought on sale. It was an excellent price, shipped the same day and was in excellent condition to deliver. I do a lot of word processing utilizing redline/strikeout and cut and paste from other documents. This monitor allows me the ability to have two or three documents open on the screen without having to minimize a document. My bosses were highly impressed and ordered a second monitor for another secretary. It is excellent for spreadsheets as you can see large sheets easily.

Fantastic Monitor
||Posted .Bought this on Black Friday... it was half price... Awesome!! Didn't know anything about this product... was trying to find a review on my phone before I purchased... found out it was brand new. I took a chance on it...and my gamble paid off.. I use this for editing photos and video... looks great at high resolution. I have three monitors and use this as my main (middle).. I have a dell xps8700 nvidia 645... I bought the warranty just in case... but I'm happy with it so far.
