Excellent Monitor For Productivity
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I searched and reviewed monitors for quite some time before selecting this one, and its perfect for my use case. I typically use it for productivity tasks where I can view multiple files and websites at once. I don't use it for gaming. While reviewing I found there are just so many monitors available it can be overwhelming, so I've listed out the main reasons why this monitor stands out. 1. IPS screen Great viewing angles. I purchased a Samsung 34" but those are actually VA panels, so on a widescreen unless you sit far back, you will get a lot of distortion when looking left and right since the monitor is so wide. So IPS is really a must have for widescreen monitors and this one has it. 2. Resolution This is a complicated topic. While on Windows you can change the scale (different from the resolution), this is only supported for certain monitors on a Mac and appears as scale rather than resolution (they munge both together on Mac). That means with a 4k screen if scaling isn't supported for your monitor, everything is insanely tiny and unreadable on a Mac. While you can get some programs that hack to try and support scaling, it seems to be hit or miss and they might stop support in the future. So on a Mac the resolution of this monitor is HD and is actually perfect for me, not too big and not too small being HD resolution. I also got a QHD 34" before this and text also is quite tiny, and if you change the resolution to HD, it looks quite bad since it isn't the monitor's native resolution. This is HD natively, so everything looks good at that resolution. If I had Windows though I might consider going for a higher resolution monitor and use the scaling function, but then the price rises dramatically. Basically HD for this monitor is 2560x1080, QHD for the same size is 3440x1440. They don't seem to make 4k 34" but LG has a 34" 5k that would be 5120x2160. That one does support scaling on Mac however but it is very expensive. 3. Adjustable stand w/Vesa The monitor stand is adjustable so you can change the height. However I did find the platform sticks out in front of the monitor quite a bit so I'm purchasing an arm instead. It does support Vesa though so you can add your own which is a must. 4. Brightness This monitor does 300 cd/m² which is typically brighter than anyone would want to look at. There are a lot of monitors in this price range that only do 250, which may be too dim. 5. Speakers While not a must have, I was surprised to find the speakers to actually be quite decent and not as obtrusive as having left and right computer speakers. 6. Form factor The bezels are quite thin and the monitor overall has a sleek and minimalist look. I don't really like the stand but it is definitely sturdy and handles movement very smoothly.

LG UltraWide
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've read the posts prior to buying this monitor and now as an owner, I have to agree with a previous poster. He said, at first it was weird but now he won't use anything else. I agree. After using standard monitors all my computer life, having this UltraWide took some getting used to. Now after using it for some time, I won't give it up either. It's really great for multi-tasking. I have multiple screens up at the same time and I can see this would have real value for spreadsheets. Some of the web sites I go to now display the entire grid of data without me having to scroll back and forth to the edges. Because it has a 21 by 9 aspect ratio, what needs to be accepted is if you do a web search, sometimes you'll have a lot of white space on the side. Also, some of the sites that I stream from don't fill up the entire screen and you will have black space on each side. In addition, it does not have built-in speakers or a webcam. In my case, neither one of those is an issue. Something to consider if that will bother you. If this one dies on me, I'll be replacing it with another UltraWide. There's no going back.

This is a good monitor to work and entertain
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This one has unique wide 2560 x 1080 resolution, so it is good to view video (the monitor still has black unused area on both sides of the screen even with wide screen video) and work. Regarding work, it is good to use two files, for example two powerpoint slides, side-by-side at the same time. This one has only one control stick which can be pressed and moved in four directions to setup and control power. The monitor turns on when this stick is pressed. To turn off, you have to press this stick to bring menu and push up to select turn off. One issue I found is, this model does not have speakers. Maybe the perforated area looks like speakers are actually made for ventilation. Initially, I thought the speakers are malfunctioning, but figured out that this model does not have speakers. I am fine with this, however, this should be informed before purchase to the customers, because some may need it.

Nice wide screen.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yhis ia noce and wide. Because this a wide monitor, I can see two full pages side by side on the screen better than on my curved 32" monitor. I like the picture quality and the setup was easy. I have no complaints.

Perfect size for comfortable viewing
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect for my set up. I can view up to 3 different screens comfortably on my screen which is a big plus. Im sure you can do more than that but for my vision that is perfect. Plus the screen on my actual laptop. Perfect wide screen size as well. I was worried 29 would not be enough but it is perfect.

||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this monitor. It is large enough for virtual teaching. When I have 2 screens up, I can easily see both screens. The picture is very clear. It has a nice subtle curve. I am very happy with my gift.

Works great.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works great. Has great video quality. It’s wide enough to go through my excel sheets without issues. The only thing I wished it has was the adjustable stand that the video shows on the bestbuy website. Other then that it’s great.

Q: QuestionUnder the specs it says "Curved Screen YES" but it doesn't appear to be curved in the pictures. I'm hoping it's not. Can anyone tell me if this is a curved screen?

Q: QuestionHas anyone who bought this monitor used it for graphic design? (I.E. Photoshop, video editing, drawing software, etc.) I'm interested in a widescreen for drawing and want something color accurate, but I can't break the bank. Thanks in advance!
Asked by Mythic.
- A:Answer To more fully realize content creators’ vision, this monitor is compatible with industry-standard HDR10 high dynamic range, supporting specific levels of color and brightness that exceed the capabilities of ordinary monitors. Q: QuestionIs this a good monitor for gaming?
Asked by Chelsea.
- A:Answer It is an excellent monitor, 75 hz refresh rate makes motion much faster, 5ms input lag leaves something to be desired, but the IPS panel is worth it. It is almost too wide for gaming, there is a lot of screen space for your eyes to cover. It is great for co-op games in steam. But otherwise it's going to come to personal preference. I actually love it and primarily use it for gaming, it just takes some getting used to.

Q: Questiondoes it work with Mac Pro connect via HDMI?
Asked by Leon.
- A:Answer It might be. I have a MacBook Pro M1 and I connect it to Monitor without any issue. I also purchased USB-C to HDMI cable since MacBook Pro M1 has 2 thunderbolt port.

Q: QuestionWhat is the actual height of the screen. (viewable space) Not the diagonal measurement, with it being extra wide I am trying to figure out how tall my picture is.
Asked by Brad.
- A:Answer Hi Brad. The height for the panel on the LG 29'' Class 21:9 UltraWide FHD IPS Monitor with HDR10 (29'' Diagonal), Model # 29WL500-B that includes the bezels is listed at 12.5" and the bezels around the monitor are 1 cm thick (i.e. o.394") so if you subtract 0.788" (i.e top bezel and bottom bezel added up) from the listed height, the viewing screen will have a height of 11.712"...^IFV

Q: QuestionCan you open multiple docs with enough space to see all at once?
Asked by Bean.
- A:Answer Yes. Two documents side by side works best. Could squeeze 3 but gets hard to read. I bought two monitors and use them side by side - 2 docs, Outlook, and cascaded directories all open and readable at the same time.
