Q: Does the TV come with basic manufacturer warranty? If so, how long is the warranty valid for?
A: If you check the specs for this TV on the internet net page of Best Buy, the warranty information comes up as "unavailable." Because of this (which I thought was rather unusual) I purchased the extended warranty from Best Buy for two years that cost $29.99. When I read the literature that came with this product there IS a warranty. LABOR: One year from the Date of Purchase. PARTS: One year from the Date of Purchase. I also took advantage of the Best Buy return policy within 15 days of purchase date. After three days of use, the TV screen turned blue. After talking to the Geek Squad, it was determined that the main circuit board went out. Exchanged this TV for an identical one without any hassle. I'm still glad I purchased the extended warranty. It covers more items than the basic coverage from the manufacturer and Best Buy will take of all the details if something goes wrong.

A: I had the same question and as it comes out it was easy to fix. Simply put, the TV displays whatever resolution it is getting from your cable box/provider. I have Comcast X1 HD. I went to the display settings and it was set to 720p...changed it to 1080p and now the TV plays 1080p!

A: The LG Full HD 1080p LED TV - 43" Class (42.5" Diag), Model # 43LJ500M is a dual voltage TV (100~240Vac 50-60Hz) so the voltage is not an issue if you take this to India. What will be an issue is that this TV has three built-in tuners, an ATSC, NTSC and QAM tuner that are designed for compatibilty with the Television Broadcast standards used in the U.S. and these are not compatible with the DVB-T and PAL standards used in India...^IFV
Q: What is the width between the legs that this TV stands on?
A: Another person answered 29 inches, but that is incorrect. I used a metal tape measure to carefully check my brand new 43LJ500M, immediately after I attached the legs. The distance from the outside of one leg to the outside of the other leg is exactly 30 inches. Accuracy is important for those of us, like me, who have a television stand that was made for a 40 inch television. Also, for those of us, like me, who want to know if the box the television comes in will fit in their vehicle, the dimensions of the box are 41 and 1/2 inches by 25 inches by 6 and 5/8 inches. That barely fit in the trunk of my mid-sized car.
