We recently turned our basement into an entertainment theater. We purchased an LG projector and needed theater like sound that would pair easily to the projector without showing a lot of cords. The LG SN9YG is an impressive wireless, smart, and attractive sound bar that was the perfect choice for our home theater. Our family uses Google Home and Google Assistant throughout our house . It was very easy using Google Assistant to set up the sound bar and pair it to my projector. The speakers face upwards on the sound bar, which are referred to as "up firing" speakers. The placement of these speakers is what allows for the Dolby Atmos room filling surround sound. What contributes highly to this room filling surround sound is the sub-woofer. The sub-woofer is larger than others I have seen, which may be why it produces such a deep bass and low-pitched sounds. I selected to use the AI Sound Pro setting which delivers optimal sound using smart technology. I find this setting works best because it does auto adjust to movies, TV, and your surroundings. When watching movies, the clarity of sound is amazing, I hear so many sounds I wasn't hearing before. I've also used it for music as well - I love saying "ok google play today's hit on Pandora" and music starts right up! Brackets to attach to the wall come with the soundbar is you want to hang it on the wall which we plan to do, once our projector screen is installed. This product comes highly secure! LG really takes the time to package this product in a way to prevent any damage from shipping. Extremely easy set up; came with a couple of cords, sound bar, and subwoofer. The sound has multiple setting types to chose from for any occasion and it’s good quality even when loud because of the Dolby Atmos and High Resolution sound features. The sound bar can even be connected to Google for easy assistance! I’d highly recommend this product to anyone considering a new sound system for their home. My wife and I have spent the last year with a nice 55" 4K HDR TV in our master bedroom. The TV isn't bad, but the audio from the speakers is two-dimensional and boring. We really wanted to improve our audio experience to something in line with our Atmos setup in our home theater. The sound in this room is spectacular by my standards, but I didn't want to go through the trouble of wiring and installing speakers for the master. The right path was to go with a sound bar and one that supports the latest Dolby Atmos standards to fill the room with sound. The LG SN9YG 5.1.2 Channel High Res Audio Sound Bar checked all the boxes for us and then some. It's a hefty little unit that conveniently fits exactly within the frame of our 55" inch display. Its loaded with seven outward facing speakers to bounce off your walls and ceiling. On top of that it also supports Google Assistant with a built-in mic array which we found to be a nice addition. Setup of the unit wasn't too bad. Wiring is a breeze and while I couldn't get the unit to connect to WiFi at first I was able to quickly get a hold of LG chat support who explained to me that I needed to connect it through the Google assistant app first. Despite my reluctance to read the manual carefully I was able to quickly get the speaker up and running and connected to my TV and other devices. They all sounded infinitely better on the sound bar than the built-in TV speakers. I did learn that my TV does not support Atmos so I had to run my devices directly into the HDMI input port on the sound bar. Once I did that the magic of Atmos was enabled. We tried this sound bar in two rooms. While I was impressed with the clarity and power of the sound bar in the living room, it did not create an image of sound coming from different directions as intended with Atmos. I expected this as an Atmos soundbar needs to reflect the sound off nearby walls to work. For a large room like this I wouldn't recommend an Atmos sound bar. However, once we moved this to the master it shone brilliantly! While I don't get the same clear sound object image as in my theater room, I certainly noticed the sound coming from all directions. Scenes with audio from the ceiling created a sense of height and immersion and the stereo separation was very apparent and dominated the tinny speakers in our TV. For a smaller room I definitely recommend this sound bar. It delivers a good Atmos experience without the need for in-wall installation. We are in love with our new LG SN10YG! It pairs perfectly with our LG television and as a bluetooth speaker. The setup was extremely easy, including setting it up to the wireless network. The sound quality of dialogue is stunning and Dolby Atmos really makes you feel immersed in whatever you are listening to. Its sleek, compact design fits perfectly in my living room. I have replaced my 2.1 soundbar with LG SN9YG soundbar and I am amazed by its crystal clear sound quality. I connected it with my projector and now have a true cinema theater-like sound experience. I was able to complete the setup in no time. Google Assistant feature is a plus and I use it frequently. The speakers on this soundbar are well-positioned to create perfect Dolby Atmos surround sound. The subwoofer is slightly bigger and heavier compared to the subwoofer of other brands but it has an excellent bass output. I also tried the AI sound feature that adjusts the speaker sound based on the content you are watching. This makes it very convenient and you won't have to switch between different sound outputs every time to change the channel. I would give this soundbar a perfect 10 on 10 score. I was going back and forth between this and the Samsung equivalent but decided on the LG since i paired it with a C9 OLED and assumed integration would be seamless (which it was) and I can control everything through the LG remote. Overall I read online that people said Samsung over LG but i also think its marketing on Samsung's part. My initial impression was Wow. We have a 9.2 in our media room and i set expectations low given this is a soundbar and was pleasantly surprised. Havent tested ATMOS yet but in our bedroom we dont have vaulted ceilings and i can hear the sound quality resonate off the walls which makes it sound more immersive. If you are using this in room with ceilings greater than 12 feet you may be disappointed (YMMV). Overall highly recommend over Samsung.
